The Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet comes in 2 different versions with
significantly different mainboards. The only outward difference is that
the charging barrel on one is marked 5V and the other is marked 9V.
Both ship with Android 4.4 as factory OS and have the usual broken DSDT
issues for x86 Android tablets.
Add a quirk to skip ACPI I2C client enumeration for the 5V version to
complement the existing quirk for the 9V version.

While analysing code for software and OF node for the corner case when
caller asks to read zero items in the supposed to be an array of values
I found that ACPI behaves differently to what OF does, i.e.
1. It returns -EINVAL when caller asks to read zero items from integer
array, while OF returns 0, if no other errors happened.
2. It returns -EINVAL when caller asks to read zero items from string
array, while OF returns -ENODATA, if no other errors happened.
Amend ACPI implementation to follow what OF does.

The GHES driver overrides the panic= setting by force-rebooting the
system after a fatal hw error has been reported. The intent being that
such an error would be reported earlier.
However, this is not optimal when a hard-to-debug issue requires long
time to reproduce and when that happens, the box will get rebooted after
30 seconds and thus destroy the whole hw context of when the error
happened.
So rip out the default GHES panic timeout and honor the global one.
In the panic disabled (panic=0) case, the error will still be logged to
dmesg for later inspection and if panic after a hw error is really
required, then that can be controlled the usual way - use panic= on the
cmdline or set it in the kernel .config's CONFIG_PANIC_TIMEOUT.

The root cause is acpi_enable_all_wakeup_gpes() uses a mutex to protect
acpi_hw_enable_all_wakeup_gpes(), and acpi_ut_acquire_mutex() may cause
a thread switch. Since there is no longer concurrent execution during
loongarch_acpi_suspend(), we can call acpi_hw_enable_all_wakeup_gpes()
directly in enable_gpe_wakeup().
The solution is similar to commit 22db06337f ("ACPI: sleep: Avoid

The TongFang GM5HG0A is a TongFang barebone design which is sold under
various brand names.
The ACPI IRQ override for the keyboard IRQ must be used on these AMD Zen
laptops in order for the IRQ to work.
At least on the SKIKK Vanaheim variant the DMI product- and board-name
strings have been replaced by the OEM with "Vanaheim" so checking that
board-name contains "GM5HG0A" as is usually done for TongFang barebones
quirks does not work.
The DMI OEM strings do contain "GM5HG0A". I have looked at the dmidecode
for a few other TongFang devices and the TongFang code-name string being
in the OEM strings seems to be something which is consistently true.
Add a quirk checking one of the DMI_OEM_STRING(s) is "GM5HG0A" in the hope
that this will work for other OEM versions of the "GM5HG0A" too.

BUG: KASAN: vmalloc-out-of-bounds in acpi_nfit_ctl+0x20e8/0x24a0
drivers/acpi/nfit/core.c:459
The issue occurs in cmd_to_func when the call_pkg->nd_reserved2
array is accessed without verifying that call_pkg points to a buffer
that is appropriately sized as a struct nd_cmd_pkg. This can lead
to out-of-bounds access and undefined behavior if the buffer does not
have sufficient space.
To address this, a check was added in acpi_nfit_ctl() to ensure that
buf is not NULL and that buf_len is less than sizeof(*call_pkg)
before accessing it. This ensures safe access to the members of
call_pkg, including the nd_reserved2 array.

The Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet (9V version) which shipped with Android 4.2
as factory OS has the usual broken DSDT issues for x86 Android tablets.
On top of that this tablet is special because all its LPSS island
peripherals are enumerated as PCI devices rather then as ACPI devices as
they typically are.
For the x86-android-tablets kmod to be able to instantiate a serdev client
for the Bluetooth HCI on this tablet, an ACPI_QUIRK_UART1_SKIP quirk is
necessary.
Modify acpi_dmi_skip_serdev_enumeration() to work with PCI enumerated
UARTs without an UID, such as the UARTs on this tablet.
Also make acpi_dmi_skip_serdev_enumeration() exit early if there are no
quirks, since there is nothing to do then.
And add the necessary quirks for the Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet.
This should compile with CONFIG_PCI being unset without issues because
dev_is_pci() is defined as "(false)" then.

Clang 19 prints a warning when we pass &th->guid to efi_pa_va_lookup():
drivers/acpi/prmt.c:156:29: error: passing 1-byte aligned argument to

unaligned pointer access [-Werror,-Walign-mismatch]
156 | (void *)efi_pa_va_lookup(&th->guid, handler_info->handler_address);
| ^
The problem is that efi_pa_va_lookup() takes a efi_guid_t and &th->guid
is a regular guid_t. The difference between the two types is the
alignment. efi_guid_t is a typedef.
typedef guid_t efi_guid_t __aligned(__alignof__(u32));
It's possible that this a bug in Clang 19. Even though the alignment of
&th->guid is not explicitly specified, it will still end up being aligned
at 4 or 8 bytes.
Anyway, as Ard points out, it's cleaner to change guid to efi_guid_t type
and that also makes the warning go away.

Add a DMI quirk for Samsung Galaxy Book2 to fix an initial lid state
detection issue.
The _LID device incorrectly returns the lid status as "closed" during
boot, causing the system to enter a suspend loop right after booting.
The quirk ensures that the correct lid state is reported initially,
preventing the system from immediately suspending after startup. It
only addresses the initial lid state detection and ensures proper
system behavior upon boot.

commit 088984c8d5 upstream.
PRMT needs to find the correct type of block to translate the PA-VA
mapping for EFI runtime services.
The issue arises because the PRMT is finding a block of type
EFI_CONVENTIONAL_MEMORY, which is not appropriate for runtime services
as described in Section 2.2.2 (Runtime Services) of the UEFI
Specification [1]. Since the PRM handler is a type of runtime service,
this causes an exception when the PRM handler is called.
[Firmware Bug]: Unable to handle paging request in EFI runtime service
WARNING: CPU: 22 PID: 4330 at drivers/firmware/efi/runtime-wrappers.c:341
__efi_queue_work+0x11c/0x170
Call trace:
Let PRMT find a block with EFI_MEMORY_RUNTIME for PRM handler and PRM
context.
If no suitable block is found, a warning message will be printed, but
the procedure continues to manage the next PRM handler.
However, if the PRM handler is actually called without proper allocation,
it would result in a failure during error handling.
By using the correct memory types for runtime services, ensure that the
PRM handler and the context are properly mapped in the virtual address
space during runtime, preventing the paging request error.
The issue is really that only memory that has been remapped for runtime
by the firmware can be used by the PRM handler, and so the region needs
to have the EFI_MEMORY_RUNTIME attribute.

It is not particularly useful to release locks (the EC mutex and the
ACPI global lock, if present) and re-acquire them immediately thereafter
during EC address space accesses in acpi_ec_space_handler().
First, releasing them for a while before grabbing them again does not
really help anyone because there may not be enough time for another
thread to acquire them.
Second, if another thread successfully acquires them and carries out
a new EC write or read in the middle if an operation region access in
progress, it may confuse the EC firmware, especially after the burst
mode has been enabled.
Finally, manipulating the locks after writing or reading every single
byte of data is overhead that it is better to avoid.
Accordingly, modify the code to carry out EC address space accesses
entirely without releasing the locks.

MASK_VAL() was added as a way to handle bit_offset and bit_width for
registers located in system memory address space. However, while suited
for reading, it does not work for writing and result in corrupted
registers when writing values with bit_offset > 0. Moreover, when a
register is collocated with another one at the same address but with a
different mask, the current code results in the other registers being
overwritten with 0s. The write procedure for SYSTEM_MEMORY registers
should actually read the value, mask it, update it and write it with the
updated value. Moreover, since registers can be located in the same
word, we must take care of locking the access before doing it. We should
potentially use a global lock since we don't know in if register
addresses aren't shared with another _CPC package but better not
encourage vendors to do so. Assume that registers can use the same word
inside a _CPC package and thus, use a per _CPC package lock.

Commit 60fa6ae6e6 ("ACPI: EC: Install address space handler at the
namespace root") caused _REG methods for EC operation regions outside
the EC device scope to be evaluated which on some systems leads to the
evaluation of _REG methods in the scopes of device objects representing
devices that are not present and not functional according to the _STA
return values. Some of those device objects represent EC "alternatives"
and if _REG is evaluated for their operation regions, the platform
firmware may be confused and the platform may start to behave
incorrectly.
To avoid this problem, only evaluate _REG for EC operation regions
located in the scopes of device objects representing known-to-be-present
devices.
For this purpose, partially revert commit 60fa6ae6e6 and trigger the
evaluation of _REG for EC operation regions from acpi_bus_attach() for
the known-valid devices.
