2fcaf133a8 selinux: avoid sk_socket dereference in selinux_sctp_bind_connect()
[ Upstream commit 56acfeb100 ]

selinux_sctp_bind_connect() dereferences sk->sk_socket to pass a
struct socket * to selinux_socket_bind() and
selinux_socket_connect_helper(). However, when the hook is invoked
from the ASCONF softirq path (sctp_process_asconf), there is no file
reference guaranteeing that sk->sk_socket is non-NULL. The setsockopt
callers (bindx, connectx, set_primary, sendmsg connect) hold a file
reference and are not affected.

Both selinux_socket_bind() and selinux_socket_connect_helper()
immediately resolve sock->sk, never using the struct socket * for
anything else. Refactor the inner logic into helpers that take a
struct sock * directly so that selinux_sctp_bind_connect() never needs
to touch sk->sk_socket at all.

b11fbade65 lsm: infrastructure management of the sock security

Move management of the sock->sk_security blob out
of the individual security modules and into the security
infrastructure. Instead of allocating the blobs from within
the modules the modules tell the infrastructure how much

b03e46bf01 lsm: use default hook return value in call_int_hook()
[ Upstream commit 260017f31a ]

Change the definition of call_int_hook() to treat LSM_RET_DEFAULT(...)
as the "continue" value instead of 0. To further simplify this macro,
also drop the IRC argument and replace it with LSM_RET_DEFAULT(...).

After this the macro can be used in a couple more hooks, where similar
logic is currently open-coded. At the same time, some other existing
call_int_hook() users now need to be open-coded, but overall it's still
a net simplification.

There should be no functional change resulting from this patch.

a6d634f794 bpf: Reject BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE creation if BPF LSM is uninitialized
[ Upstream commit a6f0643e4f ]

When CONFIG_BPF_LSM=y is set, BPF inode storage maps
(BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE) are compiled into the kernel. However,
if the BPF LSM is not explicitly enabled at boot time (e.g. omitted
from the "lsm=" boot parameter), lsm_prepare() is never executed for
the BPF LSM.

Consequently, the BPF inode security blob offset
(bpf_lsm_blob_sizes.lbs_inode) is never initialized and remains at
its default compiled size of 8 bytes instead of being updated to a
valid offset past the reserved struct rcu_head (typically 16 bytes
or more).

When a privileged user creates and updates a BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE
map, bpf_inode() evaluates inode->i_security + 8. This erroneously
aliases the struct rcu_head.func callback pointer at the beginning
of the inode->i_security blob. During subsequent map element cleanup
or inode destruction, writing NULL to owner_storage clears the queued
RCU callback pointer. When rcu_do_batch() later executes the queued
callback, it attempts an instruction fetch at address 0x0, triggering
an immediate kernel panic.

Fix this by introducing a global bpf_lsm_initialized boolean flag
marked with __ro_after_init. Set this flag to true inside bpf_lsm_init()
when the LSM framework successfully registers the BPF LSM. Gate map
allocation in inode_storage_map_alloc() on this flag, returning
-EOPNOTSUPP if the BPF LSM is in turn uninitialized.

This fail-fast approach prevents userspace from allocating inode
storage maps when the supporting BPF LSM infrastructure is absent,
avoiding zombie map states.

a4f182f871 selinux: do not cancel a policy conversion that never started
commit e5c0235a3c upstream.

sel_write_load() calls selinux_policy_cancel() when sel_make_policy_nodes()
fails, and that helper dereferences the outgoing policy to cancel its
sidtab conversion. On the first policy load there is no outgoing policy:
security_load_policy() returns early for that case, before it converts
anything, and state->policy is still NULL. A first load that fails while
building the selinuxfs tree therefore takes a NULL dereference in
selinux_policy_cancel(), reached from a write(2) to /sys/fs/selinux/load.

Skip the cancel when there is no old policy, mirroring the check
security_load_policy() already makes before it converts.

38d9144663 selinux: reject a class permission count below its inherited common
commit 9a82dcd98b upstream.

security_get_permissions() maps an inherited common's permissions into
an array sized by the class's own permissions.nprim, but class_read()
takes that nprim verbatim from the policy image and never checks that it
covers the common. A class that inherits a common of N permissions while
declaring a smaller nprim is accepted, and on load the common's
permissions are written past the class-sized array -- an out-of-bounds
heap write.

Reject a class whose permission count is below its inherited common's.
Well-formed policies, where the class count already includes the
inherited permissions, are unaffected.

3938c8494d selinux: require every boolean value to be defined
commit a93d37a09b upstream.

p_bools.nprim comes from the policy image independently of how many
booleans follow it, and cond_index_bool() fills bool_val_to_struct[] at
value - 1, so a count larger than the values present leaves NULL entries.
Every user of that array then walks it by index and dereferences each
entry: cond_evaluate_expr() on the access-vector path,
security_get_bools() and security_get_bool_value() behind selinuxfs, and
security_set_bools(). A sparse class value is absorbed by
policydb_class_isvalid() and its siblings; booleans have no such
predicate, and no consumer that could use one.

Reject a boolean value that no boolean defines, once, where the array is
built. Conforming policies define every boolean they declare and are
unaffected.

caeb105c15 ima: fix out-of-bounds read in xattr_verify()
commit 5ff232d311 upstream.

The digest-length check in xattr_verify() mixes int and size_t:

	if (xattr_len - sizeof(xattr_value->type) - hash_start >=
			iint->ima_hash->length)

sizeof() yields size_t, so the usual arithmetic conversions promote
the whole left-hand side to unsigned 64-bit before the subtraction
runs. For a truncated xattr this underflows instead of going negative:
a 1-byte IMA_XATTR_DIGEST_NG xattr (xattr_len == 1, hash_start == 1)
turns "1 - 1 - 1" into SIZE_MAX, which is trivially >= ima_hash->length.
The check then passes and the following memcmp() reads
iint->ima_hash->length bytes starting past the end of the buffer
vfs_getxattr_alloc() allocated for it.

Nothing upstream clamps xattr_len back into a safe range first:
ima_get_hash_algo() only special-cases xattr_len < 2 to pick a default
algorithm, and evm_verifyxattr() returns INTEGRITY_UNKNOWN rather than
failing when no HMAC key is loaded, so a truncated security.ima value
reaches the length check as-is.

Rewrite the comparison so every operand stays a signed int and no
implicit conversion to size_t can occur.

abe43c661e keys: make keyring key-chunk byte order agree with keyring_diff_objects()
[ Upstream commit 58565eef0f ]

keyring_get_key_chunk() loads description bytes into the index chunk low
address first, while keyring_diff_objects() numbers the first differing
bit from the low end and folds the absolute byte index into the level
without removing the inline-prefix offset the level already carries.
The two disagree on byte order and bit position, so the array can be
told two keys first differ at a bit that does not differ in the chunk
the walker uses, letting crafted descriptions collide into one node.

Load the chunk in the order keyring_diff_objects() assumes and drop the
inline-prefix length when folding the byte index into the level. This
only changes the in-memory ordering used to place keys within a keyring;
add, search and read of non-colliding keys are unaffected.

79916f40d4 keys: fix out-of-bounds read in keyring_get_key_chunk()
[ Upstream commit 63918731f9 ]

For description-level chunks keyring_get_key_chunk() advances the read
pointer by level * sizeof(long) past the inline prefix but only
bounds-checks the prefix, so a long enough key description is read past
its kmemdup(desc, desc_len + 1) allocation. Compute the full byte
offset and bounds-check the description against it before reading.

The walk only reaches a description-level chunk when two keys collide
through the hash, x, type and domain_tag chunks, so this is reached from
an unprivileged add_key(2) with a crafted pair of same-type keys whose
index hashes collide; KASAN reports a slab-out-of-bounds read.

20383429b5 apparmor: mediate the implicit connect of TCP fast open sendmsg
[ Upstream commit 4d587cd8a7 ]

sendmsg()/sendto() with MSG_FASTOPEN is a combination of connect(2) and

only checks AA_MAY_SEND, so a profile that grants send but denies connect
lets a confined task open an outbound TCP/MPTCP connection that connect(2)
would have refused, bypassing connect mediation.

Mediate the implicit connect when MSG_FASTOPEN is set and a destination

b17f0c59cc apparmor: fix use-after-free in rawdata dedup loop
[ Upstream commit 6f060496d0 ]

aa_replace_profiles() walks ns->rawdata_list to dedup the incoming
policy blob against entries already attached to existing profiles.
Per the kernel-doc on struct aa_loaddata, list membership does not
hold a reference: profiles hold pcount, and when the last pcount
drops, do_ploaddata_rmfs() is queued on a workqueue that takes
ns->lock and removes the entry. Between dropping the last pcount
and the workqueue running, an entry remains on the list with
pcount == 0.

aa_get_profile_loaddata() is an unconditional kref_get() on
pcount, so when the dedup loop hits such an entry, refcount
hardening reports

  refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free.

inside aa_replace_profiles(), and the poisoned counter then
trips "saturated" and "underflow" warnings on the subsequent
uses of the same loaddata.

Before commit a0b7091c4d ("apparmor: fix race on rawdata
dereference") the dedup path used a get_unless_zero-style helper
on a single counter, so the existing "if (tmp)" guard was
meaningful. The split-refcount refactor introduced
aa_get_profile_loaddata(), which has plain kref_get() semantics,
and the guard quietly became a no-op.

Introduce aa_get_profile_loaddata_not0(), matching the existing
_not0 convention used by aa_get_profile_not0(), and use it for
the rawdata_list dedup lookup so dying entries are skipped.

Reproduced on x86_64 with v7.1-rc5 in QEMU+KVM running Ubuntu
24.04 + stress-ng 0.17.06:

  stress-ng --apparmor 1 --klog-check --timeout 60s

Without this patch the three refcount_t warnings fire within a
few seconds. With it the same 60 s run is clean. Coverage is a
smoke-test only; a longer soak with CONFIG_KASAN, CONFIG_KCSAN
and CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING would be welcome from anyone with the
cycles.

20bc319ad3 apparmor: validate default DFA states are in bounds
Some backports of commit 9063d7e261 ("apparmor: validate DFA start
states are in bounds in unpack_pdb") limited the bounds checks on DFA
start states to the case where the start state was explicit in the
policy. However, the default DFA start state (DFA_START = 1) could
also be out-of-bounds.

Move these checks out of the else-branches so that they are applied

74331684c5 selinux: enable genfscon labeling for securityfs
commit 8a764ef1bd upstream.

Add support for genfscon per-file labeling of securityfs files.
This allows for separate labels and thereby access control for
different files. For example a genfscon statement

    genfscon securityfs /integrity/ima/policy \
	system_u:object_r:ima_policy_t:s0

will set a private label to the IMA policy file and thus allow to
control the ability to set the IMA policy. Setting labels directly

supported.

667df93769 apparmor: fix race between freeing data and fs accessing it
commit 8e135b8aee upstream.

Backport for conflicts introdued by
- conversion from sha1 to sha256 introduced in

")

- adding of conditioanl that nests the conflicting code inside an if
  condition
  d61c57fde8 ("apparmor: make export of raw binary profile to userspace optional")

AppArmor was putting the reference to i_private data on its end after
removing the original entry from the file system. However the inode
can and does live beyond that point and it is possible that some of
the fs call back functions will be invoked after the reference has
been put, which results in a race between freeing the data and
accessing it through the fs.

While the rawdata/loaddata is the most likely candidate to fail the
race, as it has the fewest references. If properly crafted it might be
possible to trigger a race for the other types stored in i_private.

Fix this by moving the put of i_private referenced data to the correct
place which is during inode eviction.

d9d8560b9b apparmor: fix race on rawdata dereference
commit a0b7091c4d upstream.

Backport for conflicts introdued by
    d61c57fde8 ("apparmor: make export of raw binary profile to userspace optional")
    which nests the conflicting code inside an if condition

There is a race condition that leads to a use-after-free situation:
because the rawdata inodes are not refcounted, an attacker can start
open()ing one of the rawdata files, and at the same time remove the
last reference to this rawdata (by removing the corresponding profile,
for example), which frees its struct aa_loaddata; as a result, when
seq_rawdata_open() is reached, i_private is a dangling pointer and
freed memory is accessed.

The rawdata inodes weren't refcounted to avoid a circular refcount and
were supposed to be held by the profile rawdata reference. However
during profile removal there is a window where the vfs and profile
destruction race, resulting in the use after free.

Fix this by moving to a double refcount scheme. Where the profile
refcount on rawdata is used to break the circular dependency. Allowing
for freeing of the rawdata once all inode references to the rawdata
are put.

1439150cd3 apparmor: fix differential encoding verification
commit 39440b1375 upstream.

Differential encoding allows loops to be created if it is abused. To
prevent this the unpack should verify that a diff-encode chain
terminates.

Unfortunately the differential encode verification had two bugs.

1. it conflated states that had gone through check and already been
   marked, with states that were currently being checked and marked.
   This means that loops in the current chain being verified are treated
   as a chain that has already been verified.

2. the order bailout on already checked states compared current chain
   check iterators j,k instead of using the outer loop iterator i.
   Meaning a step backwards in states in the current chain verification
   was being mistaken for moving to an already verified state.

Move to a double mark scheme where already verified states get a
different mark, than the current chain being kept. This enables us
to also drop the backwards verification check that was the cause of
the second error as any already verified state is already marked.

4cafce4d6d apparmor: fix unprivileged local user can do privileged policy management
commit 6601e13e82 upstream.

Backport for api changes introduced in
- 90c436a64a ("apparmor: pass cred through to audit info.")
- 92de220a7f ("apparmor: update policy capable checks to use a label")

An unprivileged local user can load, replace, and remove profiles by
opening the apparmorfs interfaces, via a confused deputy attack, by
passing the opened fd to a privileged process, and getting the
privileged process to write to the interface.

This does require a privileged target that can be manipulated to do
the write for the unprivileged process, but once such access is
achieved full policy management is possible and all the possible
implications that implies: removing confinement, DoS of system or
target applications by denying all execution, by-passing the
unprivileged user namespace restriction, to exploiting kernel bugs for
a local privilege escalation.

The policy management interface can not have its permissions simply
changed from 0666 to 0600 because non-root processes need to be able
to load policy to different policy namespaces.

Instead ensure the task writing the interface has privileges that
are a subset of the task that opened the interface. This is already
done via policy for confined processes, but unconfined can delegate
access to the opened fd, by-passing the usual policy check.

a75e12ca90 apparmor: fix missing bounds check on DEFAULT table in verify_dfa()
commit d352873bbe upstream.

The verify_dfa() function only checks DEFAULT_TABLE bounds when the state

When the verification loop traverses the differential encoding chain,

validation. A malformed DFA with DEFAULT_TABLE[j] >= state_count,
therefore, causes both out-of-bounds reads and writes.

f16f2e5936 apparmor: fix side-effect bug in match_char() macro usage
commit 8756b68eda upstream.

The match_char() macro evaluates its character parameter multiple
times when traversing differential encoding chains. When invoked
with *str++, the string pointer advances on each iteration of the
inner do-while loop, causing the DFA to check different characters
at each iteration and therefore skip input characters.
This results in out-of-bounds reads when the pointer advances past
the input buffer boundary.

87d0cecc90 apparmor: fix: limit the number of levels of policy namespaces
commit 3060394149 upstream.

Currently the number of policy namespaces is not bounded relying on
the user namespace limit. However policy namespaces aren't strictly
tied to user namespaces and it is possible to create them and nest

4fdc847b10 apparmor: replace recursive profile removal with iterative approach
commit ab09264660 upstream.

The profile removal code uses recursion when removing nested profiles,
which can lead to kernel stack exhaustion and system crashes.

Reproducer:
  $ pf='a'; for ((i=0; i<1024; i++)); do
      echo -e "profile $pf { \n }" | apparmor_parser -K -a;
      pf="$pf//x";
  done
  $ echo -n a > /sys/kernel/security/apparmor/.remove

Replace the recursive __aa_profile_list_release() approach with an
iterative approach in __remove_profile(). The function repeatedly
finds and removes leaf profiles until the entire subtree is removed,
maintaining the same removal semantic without recursion.

6b79abcb3c apparmor: fix memory leak in verify_header
commit e38c55d9f8 upstream.

The function sets `*ns = NULL` on every call, leaking the namespace
string allocated in previous iterations when multiple profiles are

Remove the incorrect assignment.
The caller (aa_unpack) initializes *ns to NULL once before the loop,

a5ea87cc1a xen/privcmd: add boot control for restricted usage in domU
commit 1613462be6 upstream.

When running in an unprivileged domU under Xen, the privcmd driver
is restricted to allow only hypercalls against a target domain, for
which the current domU is acting as a device model.

Add a boot parameter "unrestricted" to allow all hypercalls (the
hypervisor will still refuse destructive hypercalls affecting other
guests).

Make this new parameter effective only in case the domU wasn't started
using secure boot, as otherwise hypercalls targeting the domU itself
might result in violating the secure boot functionality.

This is achieved by adding another lockdown reason, which can be
tested to not being set when applying the "unrestricted" option.

If the export_binary parameter is disabled on runtime, profiles that

that profile, it will try to dereference profile->rawdata->name when
profile->rawdata is now NULL causing an oops. Fix it by checking if

6ec091c5c7 smack: /smack/doi: accept previously used values
[ Upstream commit 33d589ed60 ]

Writing to /smack/doi a value that has ever been
written there in the past disables networking for
non-ambient labels.
E.g.

    # cat /smack/doi
    3
    # netlabelctl -p cipso list
    Configured CIPSO mappings (1)
     DOI value : 3
       mapping type : PASS_THROUGH
    # netlabelctl -p map list

     domain: "_" (IPv4)
       protocol: UNLABELED
     domain: DEFAULT (IPv4)
       protocol: CIPSO, DOI = 3
     domain: DEFAULT (IPv6)
       protocol: UNLABELED

    # cat /smack/ambient
    _
    # cat /proc/$$/attr/smack/current
    _
    # ping -c1 10.1.95.12
    64 bytes from 10.1.95.12: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.964 ms
    # echo foo >/proc/$$/attr/smack/current
    # ping -c1 10.1.95.12
    64 bytes from 10.1.95.12: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.956 ms
    unknown option 86

    # echo 4 >/smack/doi
    # echo 3 >/smack/doi
!>  [  214.050395] smk_cipso_doi:691 cipso add rc = -17
    # echo 3 >/smack/doi
!>  [  249.402261] smk_cipso_doi:678 remove rc = -2
!>  [  249.402261] smk_cipso_doi:691 cipso add rc = -17

    # ping -c1 10.1.95.12
!!> ping: 10.1.95.12: Address family for hostname not supported

    # echo _ >/proc/$$/attr/smack/current
    # ping -c1 10.1.95.12
    64 bytes from 10.1.95.12: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.617 ms

This happens because Smack keeps decommissioned DOIs,
fails to re-add them, and consequently refuses to add
the “default” domain map:

    # netlabelctl -p cipso list
    Configured CIPSO mappings (2)
     DOI value : 3
       mapping type : PASS_THROUGH
     DOI value : 4
       mapping type : PASS_THROUGH
    # netlabelctl -p map list
    Configured NetLabel domain mappings (2)
     domain: "_" (IPv4)
       protocol: UNLABELED
!> (no ipv4 map for default domain here)
     domain: DEFAULT (IPv6)
       protocol: UNLABELED

Fix by clearing decommissioned DOI definitions and
serializing concurrent DOI updates with a new lock.

Also:
- allow /smack/doi to live unconfigured, since
  adding a map (netlbl_cfg_cipsov4_map_add) may fail.
  CIPSO_V4_DOI_UNKNOWN(0) indicates the unconfigured DOI
- add new DOI before removing the old default map,
  so the old map remains if the add fails

f2f4627b74 ima: Handle error code returned by ima_filter_rule_match()
[ Upstream commit 738c9738e6 ]

In ima_match_rules(), if ima_filter_rule_match() returns -ENOENT due to
the rule being NULL, the function incorrectly skips the 'if (!rc)' check
and sets 'result = true'. The LSM rule is considered a match, causing
extra files to be measured by IMA.

This issue can be reproduced in the following scenario:
After unloading the SELinux policy module via 'semodule -d', if an IMA
measurement is triggered before ima_lsm_rules is updated,
in ima_match_rules(), the first call to ima_filter_rule_match() returns
-ESTALE. This causes the code to enter the 'if (rc == -ESTALE &&
!rule_reinitialized)' block, perform ima_lsm_copy_rule() and retry. In
ima_lsm_copy_rule(), since the SELinux module has been removed, the rule
becomes NULL, and the second call to ima_filter_rule_match() returns
-ENOENT. This bypasses the 'if (!rc)' check and results in a false match.
