4c10794fe1 drm/i915: Move fb pinning into __intel_set_mode
Our two ->crtc_mode_set callbacks really don't care whether the fb is
pinned and set up already or not - all the state computation and
handling which originally looked at the framebuffer is already using
the indirection through the pipe configuration.

Eventually we want to move this up a bit more, but as long as the crtc
mode_set callback still exists (and as long as we don't need to pin an
entire pile of planes due to atomic modesets) there's not much point
in it. So I'll let this be for now.

c8f7a0dbd7 drm/i915: Inline set_base into crtc_mode_set
A lot of the code in set_base is uncessary when the crtc is off, so we
can get rid of it all. Also, we don't need to call the fbc/psr update
functions since the crtc enable/disable hooks do that already.

The only things we really need are:
- Pin the new framebuffer and potentially unpin the old framebuffer
  (if the crtc has been on and we only change the configuration).
- Update the plane registers.

The first step will move out of platform code with the very next
patch.

71b1c373ca drm/i915: Sprinkle intel_edp_psr_update over crtc_enable/disable
My plan here is to split up set_base into a prepare step, which does
the pinning, and a commit stage, which updates the hw state. Eventually
we should be able to move the prepare step at the beginning of any
atomic update. For now I only want to move the commit step into the
crtc_enable callbacks.

As a prep step sprinkle intel_edp_psr_update all over the place so
that we don't have to concern ourselves with that in the commit step.

722e76e60f fix Haswell precise store data source encoding
This patch fixes a bug in precise_store_data_hsw() whereby
it would set the data source memory level to the wrong value.

As per the the SDM Vol 3b Table 18-41 (Layout of Data Linear
Address Information in PEBS Record), when status bit 0 is set
this is a L1 hit, otherwise this is a L1 miss.

This patch encodes the memory level according to the specification.

In V2, we added the filtering on the store events.
Only the following events produce L1 information:
 * MEM_UOPS_RETIRED.STLB_MISS_STORES
 * MEM_UOPS_RETIRED.LOCK_STORES
 * MEM_UOPS_RETIRED.SPLIT_STORES
 * MEM_UOPS_RETIRED.ALL_STORES

643fd0b9f5 perf: Fix perf_event_open(.flags) test
Vince noticed that we test the (unsigned long) flags field against an

There is nothing that uses the high bits, so it should be entirely
harmless, but we don't want userspace to accidentally set them anyway,

b69cf53640 perf: Fix a race between ring_buffer_detach() and ring_buffer_attach()
Alexander noticed that we use RCU iteration on rb->event_list but do
not use list_{add,del}_rcu() to add,remove entries to that list, nor
do we observe proper grace periods when re-using the entries.

Merge ring_buffer_detach() into ring_buffer_attach() such that
attaching to the NULL buffer is detaching.

Furthermore, ensure that between any 'detach' and 'attach' of the same
event we observe the required grace period, but only when strictly
required. In effect this means that only ioctl(.request =
PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_OUTPUT) will wait for a grace period, while the
normal initial attach and final detach will not be delayed.

This patch should, I think, do the right thing under all
circumstances, the 'normal' cases all should never see the extra grace
period, but the two cases:

 1) PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_OUTPUT on an event which already has a
    ring_buffer set, will now observe the required grace period between
    removing itself from the old and attaching itself to the new buffer.

    This case is 'simple' in that both buffers are present in
    perf_event_set_output() one could think an unconditional
    synchronize_rcu() would be sufficient; however...

 2) an event that has a buffer attached, the buffer is destroyed
    (munmap) and then the event is attached to a new/different buffer
    using PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_OUTPUT.

    This case is more complex because the buffer destruction does:
      ring_buffer_attach(.rb = NULL)
    followed by the ioctl() doing:
      ring_buffer_attach(.rb = foo);

    and we still need to observe the grace period between these two
    calls due to us reusing the event->rb_entry list_head.

In order to make 2 happen we use Paul's latest cond_synchronize_rcu()
call.

c2e4323b33 cfg80211: add documentation for max_num_csa_counters
Move the comment in the structure to a description of the
max_num_csa_counters field in the docbook area.

This fixes a warning when building htmldocs (at least):

 Warning(include/net/cfg80211.h:3064): No description found for parameter 'max_num_csa_counters'

f0d71b3dcb futex: Prevent attaching to kernel threads
We happily allow userspace to declare a random kernel thread to be the
owner of a user space PI futex.

Found while analysing the fallout of Dave Jones syscall fuzzer.

We also should validate the thread group for private futexes and find
some fast way to validate whether the "alleged" owner has RW access on
the file which backs the SHM, but that's a separate issue.

866293ee54 futex: Add another early deadlock detection check
Dave Jones trinity syscall fuzzer exposed an issue in the deadlock
detection code of rtmutex:
  http://lkml.kernel.org/r/20140429151655.GA14277@redhat.com

That underlying issue has been fixed with a patch to the rtmutex code,
but the futex code must not call into rtmutex in that case because
    - it can detect that issue early
    - it avoids a different and more complex fixup for backing out

If the user space variable got manipulated to 0x80000000 which means
no lock holder, but the waiters bit set and an active pi_state in the
kernel is found we can figure out the recursive locking issue by
looking at the pi_state owner. If that is the current task, then we
can safely return -EDEADLK.

The check should have been added in commit 59fa62451 (futex: Handle
futex_pi OWNER_DIED take over correctly) already, but I did not see
the above issue caused by user space manipulation back then.

abb14148c0 fnic: fnic Control Path Trace Utility
Fnic Ctlr Path Trace utility is a tracing functionality built directly into fnic
driver to trace the control path frames like discovery, FLOGI request/reply,
PLOGI request/reply, link event etc. It will be one trace file for all fnics.
It will help us to debug and resolve the discovery and initialization related
issues in more convenient way. This trace information includes time stamp,
Host Number, Frame type, Frame Length and Frame. By default,64 pages are
allocated but we can change the number of allocated pages by module parameter
fnic_fc_trace_max_page. Each entry is of 256 byte and available entries are
depends on allocated number of pages. We can turn on or off the fnic control
path trace functionality by module paramter fc_trace_enable and/or reset the
trace contain by module paramter fc_trace_clear.

c8ff03c6da fnic: NoFIP solicitation frame in NONFIP mode and changed IO Throttle count
This patch contains following three minor fixes.

1) During Probe, fnic was sending FIP solicitation in Non FIP mode which is not
   expected, setting the internal fip state to Non FIP mode explicitly, avoids
   sending FIP frame.

2) When target goes offline, all outstanding IOs belong to the target will be
   terminated by driver, If the termination count is high, then it influences
   firmware responsiveness. To improve the responsiveness, default IO throttle
   count is reduced to 256.

3) Accessing Virtual Fabric Id (vfid) and fc_map of Fibre-Channel Forwarder(FCF)
   is invalid in fnic driver when Clear Virtual Link(CVL) is received prior to
   receiving flogi reject from switch. As CVL clears all FCFs.
