There isn't much worse than documentation giving an incorrect advise.
Grabbing a spinlock while interrupts are disabled usually means that you
must also disable interrupts for all other uses of this spinlock.
Otherwise really hard to debug issues can occur. So fix that invalid
documentation.

Add drm_gem_is_imported() that tests if a GEM object's buffer has
been imported. Update the GEM code accordingly.
GEM code usually tests for imports if import_attach has been set
in struct drm_gem_object. But attaching a dma-buf on import requires
a DMA-capable importer device, which is not the case for many serial
busses like USB or I2C. The new helper tests if a GEM object's dma-buf
has been created from the GEM object.

Provide a helper to shrink ttm_tt page-vectors on a per-page
basis. A ttm_backup backend could then in theory get away with
allocating a single temporary page for each struct ttm_tt.
This is accomplished by splitting larger pages before trying to
back them up.
In the future we could allow ttm_backup to handle backing up
large pages as well, but currently there's no benefit in
doing that, since the shmem backup backend would have to
split those anyway to avoid allocating too much temporary
memory, and if the backend instead inserts pages into the
swap-cache, those are split on reclaim by the core.
Due to potential backup- and recover errors, allow partially swapped
out struct ttm_tt's, although mark them as swapped out stopping them
from being swapped out a second time. More details in the ttm_pool.c

The expectation is that the struct drm_device based logging helpers get
passed an actual struct drm_device pointer rather than some random
struct pointer where you can dereference the ->dev member.
Add a static inline helper to convert struct drm_device to struct

The component helpers already expose the bound status in debugfs, but at
times it might be necessary to also check that state in the kernel and
act differently depending on the result.
For example the shutdown handler of a drm-driver might need to stop
a whole output pipeline if the drm device is up and running, but may
run into problems if that drm-device has never been set up before,
for example because the binding deferred.
So add a little helper that returns the bound status for a componet
device.

According to the DisplayPort standard, LTTPRs have two operating
modes:
- non-transparent - it replies to DPCD LTTPR field specific AUX
requests, while passes through all other AUX requests
- transparent - it passes through all AUX requests.
Switching between this two modes is done by the DPTX by issuing
an AUX write to the DPCD PHY_REPEATER_MODE register.
Add a generic helper that allows switching between these modes.
Also add a generic wrapper for the helper that handles the explicit
disabling of non-transparent mode and its disable->enable sequence
mentioned in the DP Standard v2.0 section 3.6.6.1. Do this in order
to move this handling out of the vendor specific driver implementation
into the generic framework.

After the previous commit is finally safe to revert commit dbae2b0628
("net: skb: introduce and use a single page frag cache"): do it here.
The intended goal of such change was to counter a performance regression
introduced by commit 3226b158e6 ("net: avoid 32 x truesize
under-estimation for tiny skbs").
Unfortunately, the blamed commit introduces another regression for the
virtio_net driver. Such a driver calls napi_alloc_skb() with a tiny
size, so that the whole head frag could fit a 512-byte block.
The single page frag cache uses a 1K fragment for such allocation, and
the additional overhead, under small UDP packets flood, makes the page
allocator a bottleneck.
Thanks to commit bf9f1baa27 ("net: add dedicated kmem_cache for
typical/small skb->head"), this revert does not re-introduce the
original regression. Actually, in the relevant test on top of this
revert, I measure a small but noticeable positive delta, just above
noise level.
The revert itself required some additional mangling due to recent updates
in the affected code.

on kernel built with MAX_SKB_FRAGS=45, where SKB_WITH_OVERHEAD(1024)
is smaller than GRO_MAX_HEAD.
Such built additionally contains the revert of the single page frag cache
so that napi_get_frags() ends up using the page frag allocator, triggering
the splat.
Note that the underlying issue is independent from the mentioned
revert; address it ensuring that the small head cache will fit either TCP
and GRO allocation and updating napi_alloc_skb() and __netdev_alloc_skb()
to select kmalloc() usage for any allocation fitting such cache.

Xiumei reported hitting the WARN in xfrm6_tunnel_net_exit while
running tests that boil down to:
- create a pair of netns
- run a basic TCP test over ipcomp6
- delete the pair of netns
The xfrm_state found on spi_byaddr was not deleted at the time we
delete the netns, because we still have a reference on it. This
lingering reference comes from a secpath (which holds a ref on the
xfrm_state), which is still attached to an skb. This skb is not
leaked, it ends up on sk_receive_queue and then gets defer-free'd by
skb_attempt_defer_free.
The problem happens when we defer freeing an skb (push it on one CPU's
defer_list), and don't flush that list before the netns is deleted. In
that case, we still have a reference on the xfrm_state that we don't
expect at this point.
We already drop the skb's dst in the TCP receive path when it's no
longer needed, so let's also drop the secpath. At this point,
tcp_filter has already called into the LSM hooks that may require the
secpath, so it should not be needed anymore. However, in some of those
places, the MPTCP extension has just been attached to the skb, so we
cannot simply drop all extensions.

User-space cursor-image data is encoded in ARBG8888, while hardware
supports ARGB4444. Implement the format conversion as part of the
format-helper framework, so that other drivers can benefit.
This allows to respect the damage area of the cursor update. In
previous code, all cursor image data had to be converted on each
update. Now, only the changed areas require an update. The hardware
image is always updated completely, as it is required for the
checksum update.
The format-conversion helper still contains the old implementation's
optimization of writing 2 output pixels at the same time.

Reorganized the enum used to define the fields of the contrller
configuration (CC) register in include/linux/nvme.h to:
1) Group together all the values defined for each field.
2) Add the missing field masks definitions.
3) Add comments to describe the enum and each field.

Previously, the NVMe/TCP host driver did not handle the C2HTermReq PDU,
instead printing "unsupported pdu type (3)" when received. This patch adds
support for processing the C2HTermReq PDU, allowing the driver
to print the Fatal Error Status field.
Example of output:
nvme nvme4: Received C2HTermReq (FES = Invalid PDU Header Field)

When a process reduces its number of threads or clears bits in its CPU
affinity mask, the mm_cid allocation should eventually converge towards
smaller values.
However, the change introduced by:
commit 7e019dcc47 ("sched: Improve cache locality of RSEQ concurrency
IDs for intermittent workloads")
adds a per-mm/CPU recent_cid which is never unset unless a thread
migrates.
This is a tradeoff between:
A) Preserving cache locality after a transition from many threads to few
threads, or after reducing the hamming weight of the allowed CPU mask.
B) Making the mm_cid upper bounds wrt nr threads and allowed CPU mask
easy to document and understand.
C) Allowing applications to eventually react to mm_cid compaction after
reduction of the nr threads or allowed CPU mask, making the tracking
of mm_cid compaction easier by shrinking it back towards 0 or not.
D) Making sure applications that periodically reduce and then increase
again the nr threads or allowed CPU mask still benefit from good
cache locality with mm_cid.
Introduce the following changes:
* After shrinking the number of threads or reducing the number of
allowed CPUs, reduce the value of max_nr_cid so expansion of CID
allocation will preserve cache locality if the number of threads or
allowed CPUs increase again.
* Only re-use a recent_cid if it is within the max_nr_cid upper bound,
else find the first available CID.

Merge tag 'vfs-6.14-rc4.fixes' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/vfs/vfs
Pull vfs fixes from Christian Brauner:
"It was reported that the acct(2) system call can be used to trigger a
NULL deref in cases where it is set to write to a file that triggers
an internal lookup.
This can e.g., happen when pointing acct(2) to /sys/power/resume. At
the point the where the write to this file happens the calling task
has already exited and called exit_fs() but an internal lookup might
be triggered through lookup_bdev(). This may trigger a NULL-deref when
accessing current->fs.
Reorganize the code so that the the final write happens from the
workqueue but with the caller's credentials. This preserves the
(strange) permission model and has almost no regression risk.
Also block access to kernel internal filesystems as well as procfs and
sysfs in the first place.
Various fixes for netfslib:
- Fix a number of read-retry hangs, including:
- Incorrect getting/putting of references on subreqs as we retry
them
- Failure to track whether a last old subrequest in a retried set
is superfluous
- Inconsistency in the usage of wait queues used for subrequests
(ie. using clear_and_wake_up_bit() whilst waiting on a private
waitqueue)
- Add stats counters for retries and publish in /proc/fs/netfs/stats.
This is not a fix per se, but is useful in debugging and shouldn't
otherwise change the operation of the code
- Fix the ordering of queuing subrequests with respect to setting the
request flag that says we've now queued them all"
