drm: renesas: shmobile: Atomic conversion + DT support
Currently, there are two drivers for the LCD controller on Renesas SuperH-based and ARM-based SH-Mobile and R-Mobile SoCs: 1. sh_mobile_lcdcfb, using the fbdev framework, 2. shmob_drm, using the DRM framework. However, only the former driver is used, as all platform support integrates the former. None of these drivers support DT-based systems. Convert the SH-Mobile DRM driver to atomic modesetting, and add DT support, complemented by the customary set of fixes and improvements. drm/sched: Convert the GPU scheduler to variable number of run-queues
The GPU scheduler has now a variable number of run-queues, which are set up at drm_sched_init() time. This way, each driver announces how many run-queues it requires (supports) per each GPU scheduler it creates. Note, that run-queues correspond to scheduler "priorities", thus if the number of run-queues is set to 1 at drm_sched_init(), then that scheduler supports a single run-queue, i.e. single "priority". If a driver further sets a single entity per run-queue, then this creates a 1-to-1 correspondence between a scheduler and a scheduled entity. drm/doc: document DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CREATE_DUMB
The main motivation is to repeat that dumb buffers should not be abused for anything else than basic software rendering with KMS. User-space devs are more likely to look at the IOCTL docs than to actively search for the driver-oriented "Dumb Buffer Objects" section. v2: reference DRM_CAP_DUMB_BUFFER, DRM_CAP_DUMB_PREFERRED_DEPTH and DRM_CAP_DUMB_PREFER_SHADOW (Pekka) Signed-off-by: Simon Ser <contact@emersion.fr> Acked-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Acked-by: Pekka Paalanen <pekka.paalanen@collabora.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20230821131548.269204-1-contact@emersion.fr |

drm/fourcc: Add NV20 and NV30 YUV formats
DRM_FORMAT_NV20 and DRM_FORMAT_NV30 formats is the 2x1 and non-subsampled variant of NV15, a 10-bit 2-plane YUV format that has no padding between components. Instead, luminance and chrominance samples are grouped into 4s so that each group is packed into an integer number of bytes: YYYY = UVUV = 4 * 10 bits = 40 bits = 5 bytes The '20' and '30' suffix refers to the optimum effective bits per pixel which is achieved when the total number of luminance samples is a multiple of 4. In the raw NAND subsystem, the major fix prevents using cached reads
with devices not supporting it. There was two bug reports about this. Aside, 3 drivers (pl353, arasan and marvell) could sometimes hide page program failures due to their their own program page helper not being fully compliant with the specification (many drivers use the default helpers shared by the core). Adding a missing check prevents these situation. Finally, the Qualcomm driver had a broken error path. In the SPI-NAND subsystem one Micron device used a wrong bitmak reporting possibly corrupted ECC status. Finally, the physmap-core got stripped from its map_rom fallback by mistake, this feature is added back. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQEzBAABCgAdFiEE9HuaYnbmDhq/XIDIJWrqGEe9VoQFAmUyvxcACgkQJWrqGEe9 VoStmwf9HjOY3kNB37ip0NpG5viRWeLNC8hMxJOJaGZlyX6x9b/88xsBjVFc7z3s hoCBGfOnUSDXk4KfxNiYps5YqfMgb+yLeIGdsDsLhNht6Mh/YOEFzXgcD8+iudKH OpjjJnRzQHxNM3zA3Vauh1XD/j+6uvQ3BHlJpQfA+Ukv4+34Irin4/gKhZCoUedo IJNVU5hurJexCkjGk2yO+B34qD8ZXGKWeXzwsKKYB/FE55iO69GrHNdLBMnFfxu+ uU6GcV+YKroPLDs5mKH2oojKhyAhrh3gQyrNJFnCqh/sVnNCAbD75N+YC6enHeBe ovlc82AWmLUJVktsih27OsU58RnCxA== =7Xq1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'mtd/fixes-for-6.6-rc7' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mtd/linux Pull MTD fixes from Miquel Raynal: "In the raw NAND subsystem, the major fix prevents using cached reads with devices not supporting it. Including fixes from bluetooth, netfilter, WiFi.
Feels like an up-tick in regression fixes, mostly for older releases.
The hfsc fix, tcp_disconnect() and Intel WWAN fixes stand out as fairly
clear-cut user reported regressions. The mlx5 DMA bug was causing strife
for 390x folks. The fixes themselves are not particularly scary, tho.
No open investigations / outstanding reports at the time of writing.
Current release - regressions:
- eth: mlx5: perform DMA operations in the right locations,
make devices usable on s390x, again
- sched: sch_hfsc: upgrade 'rt' to 'sc' when it becomes a inner curve,
previous fix of rejecting invalid config broke some scripts
- rfkill: reduce data->mtx scope in rfkill_fop_open, avoid deadlock
- revert "ethtool: Fix mod state of verbose no_mask bitset",
needs more work
Current release - new code bugs:
- tcp: fix listen() warning with v4-mapped-v6 address
Previous releases - regressions:
- tcp: allow tcp_disconnect() again when threads are waiting,
it was denied to plug a constant source of bugs but turns out
.NET depends on it
- eth: mlx5: fix double-free if buffer refill fails under OOM
- revert "net: wwan: iosm: enable runtime pm support for 7560",
it's causing regressions and the WWAN team at Intel disappeared
- tcp: tsq: relax tcp_small_queue_check() when rtx queue contains
a single skb, fix single-stream perf regression on some devices
Previous releases - always broken:
- Bluetooth:
- fix issues in legacy BR/EDR PIN code pairing
- correctly bounds check and pad HCI_MON_NEW_INDEX name
- netfilter:
- more fixes / follow ups for the large "commit protocol" rework,
which went in as a fix to 6.5
- fix null-derefs on netlink attrs which user may not pass in
- tcp: fix excessive TLP and RACK timeouts from HZ rounding
(bless Debian for keeping HZ=250 alive)
- net: more strict VIRTIO_NET_HDR_GSO_UDP_L4 validation, prevent
letting frankenstein UDP super-frames from getting into the stack
- net: fix interface altnames when ifc moves to a new namespace
- eth: qed: fix the size of the RX buffers
- mptcp: avoid sending RST when closing the initial subflow

Because group consistency is non-atomic between parent (filedesc) and children (inherited) events, it is possible for PERF_FORMAT_GROUP read() to try and sum non-matching counter groups -- with non-sensical results. Add group_generation to distinguish the case where a parent group removes and adds an event and thus has the same number, but a different configuration of events as inherited groups. Indeed, the variable pin6 is declared and initialized unconditionally,
while it is only used and needlessly re-initialized when support for
IPv6 is enabled.
Fix this by dropping the unused variable initialization, and moving the
variable declaration inside the existing section protected by a check
for CONFIG_IPV6.

tcp: fix excessive TLP and RACK timeouts from HZ rounding
We discovered from packet traces of slow loss recovery on kernels with
the default HZ=250 setting (and min_rtt < 1ms) that after reordering,
when receiving a SACKed sequence range, the RACK reordering timer was
firing after about 16ms rather than the desired value of roughly
min_rtt/4 + 2ms. The problem is largely due to the RACK reorder timer
calculation adding in TCP_TIMEOUT_MIN, which is 2 jiffies. On kernels
with HZ=250, this is 2*4ms = 8ms. The TLP timer calculation has the
exact same issue.
This commit fixes the TLP transmit timer and RACK reordering timer
floor calculation to more closely match the intended 2ms floor even on
kernels with HZ=250. It does this by adding in a new
TCP_TIMEOUT_MIN_US floor of 2000 us and then converting to jiffies,
instead of the current approach of converting to jiffies and then
adding th TCP_TIMEOUT_MIN value of 2 jiffies.
Our testing has verified that on kernels with HZ=1000, as expected,
this does not produce significant changes in behavior, but on kernels
with the default HZ=250 the latency improvement can be large. For
example, our tests show that for HZ=250 kernels at low RTTs this fix
roughly halves the latency for the RACK reorder timer: instead of
mostly firing at 16ms it mostly fires at 8ms.

This tag contains habanalabs driver changes for v6.7.
The notable changes are:
- uAPI changes:
- Expose tsc clock sampling to better sync clock information in profiler.
- Enhance engine error reporting in the info ioctl.
- Block access to the eventfd operations through the control device.
- Disable the option of the user to register multiple times with the same
offset for timestamp dump by the driver. If a user wants to use the same
offset in the timestamp buffer for different interrupt, it needs to first
de-register the offset.
- When exporting dma-buf (for p2p), force the user to specify size/offset
in multiples of PAGE_SIZE. This is instead of the driver doing the
rounding to PAGE_SIZE, which has caused the driver to map more memory
than was intended by the user.
- New features and improvements:
- Complete the move of the driver to the accel subsystem by removing the
custom habanalabs class and major and registering to accel subsystem.
- Move the firmware interface files to include/linux/habanalabs. This is
a pre-requisite for upstreaming the NIC drivers of Gaudi (as they need to
include those files).
- Perform device hard-reset upon PCIe AXI drain event to prevent the failure
from cascading to different IP blocks in the SoC. In secured environments,
this is done automatically by the firmware.
- Print device name when it is removed for better debuggability.
- Add support for trace of dma map sgtable operations.
- Optimize handling of user interrupts by splitting the interrupts to two
lists. One list for fast handling and second list for handling with
timestamp recording, which is slower.
- Prevent double device hard-reset due to 2 adjacent H/W events.
- Set device status 'malfunction' while in rmmod.
- Firmware related fixes:
- Extend preboot timeout because preboot loading might take longer than
expected in certain cases.
- Add a protection mechanism for the Event Queue. In case it is full, the
firmware will be able to notify about it through a dedicated interrupt.
- Perform device hard-reset in case scrubbing of memory has failed.
- Bug fixes and code cleanups:
- Small fixes of dma-buf handling in Gaudi2, such as handling an offset != 0,
using the correct exported size, creation of sg table.
- Fix spmu mask creation.
- Fix bug in wait for cs completion for decoder workloads.
- Cleanup Greco name from documentation.
- Fix bug in recording timestamp during cs completion interrupt handling.
- Fix CoreSight ETF configuration and flush logic.
- Fix small bug in hpriv_list handling (the list that contains the private
data per process that opens our device).

drm/bridge: synopsys: dw-mipi-dsi: Add input bus format negotiation support
Introduce ->get_input_bus_fmts() callback to struct dw_mipi_dsi_plat_data so that vendor drivers can implement specific methods to get input bus formats for Synopsys DW MIPI DSI. While at it, implement a generic callback for ->atomic_get_input_bus_fmts(), where we try to get the input bus formats through pdata->get_input_bus_fmts() first. If it's unavailable, fall back to the only format - MEDIA_BUS_FMT_FIXED, which matches the default behavior if ->atomic_get_input_bus_fmts() is not implemented as ->atomic_get_input_bus_fmts()'s kerneldoc indicates. mtd: rawnand: Ensure the nand chip supports cached reads
Both the JEDEC and ONFI specification say that read cache sequential
support is an optional command. This means that we not only need to
check whether the individual controller supports the command, we also
need to check the parameter pages for both ONFI and JEDEC NAND flashes
before enabling sequential cache reads.
This fixes support for NAND flashes which don't support enabling cache
reads, i.e. Samsung K9F4G08U0F or Toshiba TC58NVG0S3HTA00.
Sequential cache reads are now only available for ONFI and JEDEC
devices, if individual vendors implement this, it needs to be enabled
per vendor.
Tested on i.MX6Q with a Samsung NAND flash chip that doesn't support
sequential reads.

net: more strict VIRTIO_NET_HDR_GSO_UDP_L4 validation
Syzbot reported two new paths to hit an internal WARNING using the
new virtio gso type VIRTIO_NET_HDR_GSO_UDP_L4.
RIP: 0010:skb_checksum_help+0x4a2/0x600 net/core/dev.c:3260
skb len=64521 gso_size=344
and
RIP: 0010:skb_warn_bad_offload+0x118/0x240 net/core/dev.c:3262
Older virtio types have historically had loose restrictions, leading
to many entirely impractical fuzzer generated packets causing
problems deep in the kernel stack. Ideally, we would have had strict
validation for all types from the start.
New virtio types can have tighter validation. Limit UDP GSO packets
inserted via virtio to the same limits imposed by the UDP_SEGMENT
socket interface:
1. must use checksum offload
2. checksum offload matches UDP header
3. no more segments than UDP_MAX_SEGMENTS
4. UDP GSO does not take modifier flags, notably SKB_GSO_TCP_ECN

Bluetooth: hci_sock: Correctly bounds check and pad HCI_MON_NEW_INDEX name
The code pattern of memcpy(dst, src, strlen(src)) is almost always
wrong. In this case it is wrong because it leaves memory uninitialized
if it is less than sizeof(ni->name), and overflows ni->name when longer.
Normally strtomem_pad() could be used here, but since ni->name is a
trailing array in struct hci_mon_new_index, compilers that don't support
-fstrict-flex-arrays=3 can't tell how large this array is via
__builtin_object_size(). Instead, open-code the helper and use sizeof()
since it will work correctly.
Additionally mark ni->name as __nonstring since it appears to not be a
%NUL terminated C string.

tcp: allow again tcp_disconnect() when threads are waiting
As reported by Tom, .NET and applications build on top of it rely
on connect(AF_UNSPEC) to async cancel pending I/O operations on TCP
socket.
The blamed commit below caused a regression, as such cancellation
can now fail.
As suggested by Eric, this change addresses the problem explicitly
causing blocking I/O operation to terminate immediately (with an error)
when a concurrent disconnect() is executed.
Instead of tracking the number of threads blocked on a given socket,
track the number of disconnect() issued on such socket. If such counter
changes after a blocking operation releasing and re-acquiring the socket
lock, error out the current operation.

audit,io_uring: io_uring openat triggers audit reference count underflow
An io_uring openat operation can update an audit reference count
from multiple threads resulting in the call trace below.
A call to io_uring_submit() with a single openat op with a flag of
IOSQE_ASYNC results in the following reference count updates.
These first part of the system call performs two increments that do not race.
do_syscall_64()
__do_sys_io_uring_enter()
io_submit_sqes()
io_openat_prep()
__io_openat_prep()
getname()
getname_flags() /* update 1 (increment) */
__audit_getname() /* update 2 (increment) */
The openat op is queued to an io_uring worker thread which starts the
opportunity for a race. The system call exit performs one decrement.
do_syscall_64()
syscall_exit_to_user_mode()
syscall_exit_to_user_mode_prepare()
__audit_syscall_exit()
audit_reset_context()
putname() /* update 3 (decrement) */
The io_uring worker thread performs one increment and two decrements.
These updates can race with the system call decrement.
io_wqe_worker()
io_worker_handle_work()
io_wq_submit_work()
io_issue_sqe()
io_openat()
io_openat2()
do_filp_open()
path_openat()
__audit_inode() /* update 4 (increment) */
putname() /* update 5 (decrement) */
__audit_uring_exit()
audit_reset_context()
putname() /* update 6 (decrement) */
The fix is to change the refcnt member of struct audit_names
from int to atomic_t.

drm/nouveau: exec: fix ioctl kernel-doc warning
kernel-doc emits a warning:
include/uapi/drm/nouveau_drm.h:49: warning: Cannot understand * @NOUVEAU_GETPARAM_EXEC_PUSH_MAX
on line 49 - I thought it was a doc line
We don't have a way to document a macro value via kernel-doc, so
change the "/**" kernel-doc marker to a C comment and format the comment
more like a kernel-doc comment for consistency.
