[ Upstream commit 57be3d3562 ]
-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end was introduced in GCC-14, and we are
getting ready to enable it, globally.
So, in order to avoid ending up with a flexible-array member in the
middle of multiple other structs, we use the `__struct_group()`
helper to create a new tagged `struct ieee80211_radiotap_header_fixed`.
This structure groups together all the members of the flexible
`struct ieee80211_radiotap_header` except the flexible array.
As a result, the array is effectively separated from the rest of the
members without modifying the memory layout of the flexible structure.
We then change the type of the middle struct members currently causing
trouble from `struct ieee80211_radiotap_header` to `struct
ieee80211_radiotap_header_fixed`.
We also want to ensure that in case new members need to be added to the
flexible structure, they are always included within the newly created
tagged struct. For this, we use `static_assert()`. This ensures that the
memory layout for both the flexible structure and the new tagged struct
is the same after any changes.
This approach avoids having to implement `struct ieee80211_radiotap_header_fixed`
as a completely separate structure, thus preventing having to maintain
two independent but basically identical structures, closing the door
to potential bugs in the future.
So, with these changes, fix the following warnings:

Commit 4598380f9c ("bonding: fix ns validation on backup slaves")
tried to resolve the issue where backup slaves couldn't be brought up when
receiving IPv6 Neighbor Solicitation (NS) messages. However, this fix only
worked for drivers that receive all multicast messages, such as the veth
interface.
For standard drivers, the NS multicast message is silently dropped because
the slave device is not a member of the NS target multicast group.
To address this, we need to make the slave device join the NS target
multicast group, ensuring it can receive these IPv6 NS messages to validate
the slave’s status properly.
There are three policies before joining the multicast group:
1. All settings must be under active-backup mode (alb and tlb do not support
arp_validate), with backup slaves and slaves supporting multicast.
2. We can add or remove multicast groups when arp_validate changes.
3. Other operations, such as enslaving, releasing, or setting NS targets,
need to be guarded by arp_validate.

8c873e2199 ("netfilter: core: free hooks with call_rcu") removed
synchronize_net() call when unregistering basechain hook, however,
net_device removal event handler for the NFPROTO_NETDEV was not updated
to wait for RCU grace period.
Note that 835b803377 ("netfilter: nf_tables_netdev: unregister hooks
on net_device removal") does not remove basechain rules on device
removal, I was hinted to remove rules on net_device removal later, see
5ebe0b0eec ("netfilter: nf_tables: destroy basechain and rules on
netdevice removal").
Although NETDEV_UNREGISTER event is guaranteed to be handled after
synchronize_net() call, this path needs to wait for rcu grace period via
rcu callback to release basechain hooks if netns is alive because an
ongoing netlink dump could be in progress (sockets hold a reference on
the netns).
Note that nf_tables_pre_exit_net() unregisters and releases basechain
hooks but it is possible to see NETDEV_UNREGISTER at a later stage in
the netns exit path, eg. veth peer device in another netns:
cleanup_net()
default_device_exit_batch()
unregister_netdevice_many_notify()
notifier_call_chain()
nf_tables_netdev_event()
__nft_release_basechain()
In this particular case, same rule of thumb applies: if netns is alive,
then wait for rcu grace period because netlink dump in the other netns
could be in progress. Otherwise, if the other netns is going away then
no netlink dump can be in progress and basechain hooks can be released
inmediately.
While at it, turn WARN_ON() into WARN_ON_ONCE() for the basechain
validation, which should not ever happen.

ICMP messages are ratelimited :
After the blamed commits, the two rate limiters are applied in this order:
1) host wide ratelimit (icmp_global_allow())
2) Per destination ratelimit (inetpeer based)
In order to avoid side-channels attacks, we need to apply
the per destination check first.
This patch makes the following change :
1) icmp_global_allow() checks if the host wide limit is reached.
But credits are not yet consumed. This is deferred to 3)
2) The per destination limit is checked/updated.
This might add a new node in inetpeer tree.
3) icmp_global_consume() consumes tokens if prior operations succeeded.
This means that host wide ratelimit is still effective
in keeping inetpeer tree small even under DDOS.
As a bonus, I removed icmp_global.lock as the fast path
can use a lock-free operation.

This is somewhat reverting commit 4c67bc74f0 ("[Bluetooth] Support
concurrent connect requests").
With this, the BT_CONNECT2 state of ACL hci_conn objects should now be
back to meaning only one thing: That we received a "Connection Request"
from another device (see hci_conn_request_evt), but the response to that
is going to be deferred.

Pretty much all bluetooth chipsets only support paging a single device at
a time, and if they don't reject a secondary "Create Connection" request
while another is still ongoing, they'll most likely serialize those
requests in the firware.
With commit 4c67bc74f0 ("[Bluetooth] Support concurrent connect
requests") we started adding some serialization of our own in case the
adapter returns "Command Disallowed" HCI error.
This commit was using the BT_CONNECT2 state for the serialization, this
state is also used for a few more things (most notably to indicate we're
waiting for an inquiry to cancel) and therefore a bit unreliable. Also
not all BT firwares would respond with "Command Disallowed" on too many
connection requests, some will also respond with "Hardware Failure"
(BCM4378), and others will error out later and send a "Connect Complete"
event with error "Rejected Limited Resources" (Marvell 88W8897).
We can clean things up a bit and also make the serialization more reliable
by using our hci_sync machinery to always do "Create Connection" requests
in a sequential manner.
This is very similar to what we're already doing for establishing LE
connections, and it works well there.
Note that this causes a test failure in mgmt-tester (test "Pair Device
- Power off 1") because the hci_abort_conn_sync() changes the error we
return on timeout of the "Create Connection". We'll fix this on the
mgmt-tester side by adjusting the expected error for the test.

Subtract network offset to skb->len before performing IPv4 header sanity
checks, then adjust transport offset from offset from mac header.
Jorge Ortiz says:
When small UDP packets (< 4 bytes payload) are sent from eth0,
`meta l4proto udp` condition is not met because `NFT_PKTINFO_L4PROTO` is
not set. This happens because there is a comparison that checks if the
transport header offset exceeds the total length. This comparison does
not take into account the fact that the skb network offset might be
non-zero in egress mode (e.g., 14 bytes for Ethernet header).

commit 58a63729c9 upstream.
After napi_complete_done() is called when NAPI is polling in the current
process context, another NAPI may be scheduled and start running in
softirq on another CPU and may ring the doorbell before the current CPU
does. When combined with unnecessary rings when there is no need to arm
the CQ, it triggers error paths in the hardware.
This patch fixes this by calling napi_complete_done() after doorbell
rings. It limits the number of unnecessary rings when there is
no need to arm. MANA hardware specifies that there must be one doorbell
ring every 8 CQ wraparounds. This driver guarantees one doorbell ring as
soon as the number of consumed CQEs exceeds 4 CQ wraparounds. In practical
workloads, the 4 CQ wraparounds proves to be big enough that it rarely
exceeds this limit before all the napi weight is consumed.
To implement this, add a per-CQ counter cq->work_done_since_doorbell,
and make sure the CQ is armed as soon as passing 4 wraparounds of the CQ.

The TOS value that is returned to user space in the route get reply is
the one with which the lookup was performed ('fl4->flowi4_tos'). This is
fine when the matched route is configured with a TOS as it would not
match if its TOS value did not match the one with which the lookup was
performed.
However, matching on TOS is only performed when the route's TOS is not
zero. It is therefore possible to have the kernel incorrectly return a
non-zero TOS:
# ip link add name dummy1 up type dummy
# ip address add 192.0.2.1/24 dev dummy1
# ip route get 192.0.2.2 tos 0xfc
192.0.2.2 tos 0x1c dev dummy1 src 192.0.2.1 uid 0
cache
Fix by adding a DSCP field to the FIB result structure (inside an
existing 4 bytes hole), populating it in the route lookup and using it
when filling the route get reply.
Output after the patch:
# ip link add name dummy1 up type dummy
# ip address add 192.0.2.1/24 dev dummy1
# ip route get 192.0.2.2 tos 0xfc

Pedro Pinto and later independently also Hyunwoo Kim and Wongi Lee reported
an issue that the tcx_entry can be released too early leading to a use
after free (UAF) when an active old-style ingress or clsact qdisc with a
shared tc block is later replaced by another ingress or clsact instance.
Essentially, the sequence to trigger the UAF (one example) can be as follows:
1. A network namespace is created
2. An ingress qdisc is created. This allocates a tcx_entry, and
&tcx_entry->miniq is stored in the qdisc's miniqp->p_miniq. At the
same time, a tcf block with index 1 is created.
3. chain0 is attached to the tcf block. chain0 must be connected to
the block linked to the ingress qdisc to later reach the function
tcf_chain0_head_change_cb_del() which triggers the UAF.
4. Create and graft a clsact qdisc. This causes the ingress qdisc
created in step 1 to be removed, thus freeing the previously linked
tcx_entry:
rtnetlink_rcv_msg()
=> tc_modify_qdisc()
=> qdisc_create()
=> clsact_init() [a]
=> qdisc_graft()
=> qdisc_destroy()
=> __qdisc_destroy()
=> ingress_destroy() [b]
=> tcx_entry_free()
=> kfree_rcu() // tcx_entry freed
5. Finally, the network namespace is closed. This registers the
cleanup_net worker, and during the process of releasing the
remaining clsact qdisc, it accesses the tcx_entry that was
already freed in step 4, causing the UAF to occur:
cleanup_net()
=> ops_exit_list()
=> default_device_exit_batch()
=> unregister_netdevice_many()
=> unregister_netdevice_many_notify()
=> dev_shutdown()
=> qdisc_put()
=> clsact_destroy() [c]
=> tcf_block_put_ext()
=> tcf_chain0_head_change_cb_del()
=> tcf_chain_head_change_item()
=> clsact_chain_head_change()
=> mini_qdisc_pair_swap() // UAF
There are also other variants, the gist is to add an ingress (or clsact)
qdisc with a specific shared block, then to replace that qdisc, waiting
for the tcx_entry kfree_rcu() to be executed and subsequently accessing
the current active qdisc's miniq one way or another.
The correct fix is to turn the miniq_active boolean into a counter. What
can be observed, at step 2 above, the counter transitions from 0->1, at
step [a] from 1->2 (in order for the miniq object to remain active during
the replacement), then in [b] from 2->1 and finally [c] 1->0 with the
eventual release. The reference counter in general ranges from [0,2] and
it does not need to be atomic since all access to the counter is protected
by the rtnl mutex. With this in place, there is no longer a UAF happening
and the tcx_entry is freed at the correct time.
