bd8ca5c5a0 usb: typec: anx7411: fix OF node reference leaks in anx7411_typec_switch_probe()
commit ef42b906df upstream.

The refcounts of the OF nodes obtained by of_get_child_by_name() calls
in anx7411_typec_switch_probe() are not decremented. Replace them with
device_get_named_child_node() calls and store the return values to the
newly created fwnode_handle fields in anx7411_data, and call
fwnode_handle_put() on them in the error path and in the unregister
functions.

1c766533de usb: typec: anx7411: fix fwnode_handle reference leak
commit 645d56e4cc upstream.

An fwnode_handle and usb_role_switch are obtained with an incremented
refcount in anx7411_typec_port_probe(), however the refcounts are not
decremented in the error path. The fwnode_handle is also not decremented
in the .remove() function. Therefore, call fwnode_handle_put() and
usb_role_switch_put() accordingly.

e1ef62e8d2 mfd: intel_soc_pmic_bxtwc: Use IRQ domain for USB Type-C device
[ Upstream commit 686fb77712 ]

While design wise the idea of converting the driver to use
the hierarchy of the IRQ chips is correct, the implementation
has (inherited) flaws. This was unveiled when platform_get_irq()
had started WARN() on IRQ 0 that is supposed to be a Linux
IRQ number (also known as vIRQ).

Rework the driver to respect IRQ domain when creating each MFD
device separately, as the domain is not the same for all of them.

1efdbf5323 soc: qcom: pmic_glink: Fix race during initialization
commit 3568affcdd upstream.

As pointed out by Stephen Boyd it is possible that during initialization
of the pmic_glink child drivers, the protection-domain notifiers fires,
and the associated work is scheduled, before the client registration
returns and as a result the local "client" pointer has been initialized.

The outcome of this is a NULL pointer dereference as the "client"

Timeline provided by Stephen:

Resolve this by splitting the allocation of the "client" object and the
registration thereof into two operations.

This only happens if the protection domain registry is populated at the
time of registration, which by the introduction of commit '1ebcde047c

c2a3b181f0 Revert "usb: typec: tcpm: clear pd_event queue in PORT_RESET"
commit 21ea1ce37f upstream.

This reverts commit bf20c69cf3.

During tcpm_init() stage, if the VBUS is still present after

after a specific discharge time. Following a TCPM_VBUS_EVENT event if
VBUS reach to off state. TCPM_VBUS_EVENT event may be set during
PORT_RESET handling stage. If pd_events reset to 0 after TCPM_VBUS_EVENT
set, we will lost this VBUS event. Then the port state machine may stuck
at one state.

e630592719 usb: ucsi: stm32: fix command completion handling
commit 8e1ec117ef upstream.

Sometimes errors are seen, when doing DR swap, like:
[ 24.672481] ucsi-stm32g0-i2c 0-0035: UCSI_GET_PDOS failed (-5)
[ 24.720188] ucsi-stm32g0-i2c 0-0035: ucsi_handle_connector_change:
 GET_CONNECTOR_STATUS failed (-5)

There may be some race, which lead to read CCI, before the command complete
flag is set, hence returning -EIO. Similar fix has been done also in
ucsi_acpi [1].

In case of a spurious or otherwise delayed notification it is
possible that CCI still reports the previous completion. The
UCSI spec is aware of this and provides two completion bits in
CCI, one for normal commands and one for acks. As acks and commands
alternate the notification handler can determine if the completion
bit is from the current command.

To fix this add the ACK_PENDING bit for ucsi_stm32g0 and only complete
commands if the completion bit matches.

519610e20e usb: typec: ucsi: glink: fix child node release in probe function
commit c68942624e upstream.

The device_for_each_child_node() macro requires explicit calls to
fwnode_handle_put() in all early exits of the loop if the child node is

decremented and the resource is not released.

The current implementation of pmic_glink_ucsi_probe() makes use of the
device_for_each_child_node(), but does not release the child node on
early returns. Add the missing calls to fwnode_handle_put().

40b963e45c usb: typec: tipd: fix event checking for tps6598x
commit 409c1cfb5a upstream.

The current interrupt service routine of the tps6598x only reads the
first 64 bits of the INT_EVENT1 and INT_EVENT2 registers, which means
that any event above that range will be ignored, leaving interrupts
unattended. Moreover, those events will not be cleared, and the device
will keep the interrupt enabled.

This issue has been observed while attempting to load patches, and the
'ReadyForPatch' field (bit 81) of INT_EVENT1 was set.

Given that older versions of the tps6598x (1, 2 and 6) provide 8-byte
registers, a mechanism based on the upper byte of the version register
(0x0F) has been included. The manufacturer has confirmed [1] that this
byte is always 0 for older versions, and either 0xF7 (DH parts) or 0xF9
(DK parts) is returned in newer versions (7 and 8).

Read the complete INT_EVENT registers to handle all interrupts generated
by the device and account for the hardware version to select the
register size.

24e2f570f2 usb: typec: tcpm: clear pd_event queue in PORT_RESET
commit bf20c69cf3 upstream.

When a Fast Role Swap control message attempt results in a transition
to ERROR_RECOVERY, the TCPC can still queue a TCPM_SOURCING_VBUS event.

If the event is queued but processed after the tcpm_reset_port() call
in the PORT_RESET state, then the following occurs:
1. tcpm_reset_port() calls tcpm_init_vbus() to reset the vbus sourcing and
sinking state
2. tcpm_pd_event_handler() turns VBUS on before the port is in the default
state.
3. The port resolves as a sink. In the SNK_DISCOVERY state,
tcpm_set_charge() cannot set vbus to charge.

Clear pd events within PORT_RESET to get rid of non-applicable events.

113b12e164 usb: typec: ucsi: Fix race between typec_switch and role_switch
[ Upstream commit f5e9bda03a ]

When orientation switch is enabled in ucsi glink, there is a xhci
probe failure seen when booting up in host mode in reverse
orientation.

During bootup the following things happen in multiple drivers:

a) DWC3 controller driver initializes the core in device mode when the
dr_mode is set to DRD. It relies on role_switch call to change role to
host.

b) QMP driver initializes the lanes to TYPEC_ORIENTATION_NORMAL as a
normal routine. It relies on the typec_switch_set call to get notified
of orientation changes.

c) UCSI core reads the UCSI_GET_CONNECTOR_STATUS via the glink and
provides initial role switch to dwc3 controller.

When booting up in host mode with orientation TYPEC_ORIENTATION_REVERSE,
then we see the following things happening in order:

a) UCSI gives initial role as host to dwc3 controller ucsi_register_port.
Upon receiving this notification, the dwc3 core needs to program GCTL from
PRTCAP_DEVICE to PRTCAP_HOST and as part of this change, it asserts GCTL
Core soft reset and waits for it to be completed before shifting it to
host. Only after the reset is done will the dwc3_host_init be invoked and
xhci is probed. DWC3 controller expects that the usb phy's are stable
during this process i.e., the phy init is already done.

b) During the 100ms wait for GCTL core soft reset, the actual notification
from PPM is received by ucsi_glink via pmic glink for changing role to
host. The pmic_glink_ucsi_notify routine first sends the orientation
change to QMP and then sends role to dwc3 via ucsi framework. This is
happening exactly at the time GCTL core soft reset is being processed.

c) When QMP driver receives typec switch to TYPEC_ORIENTATION_REVERSE, it
then re-programs the phy at the instant GCTL core soft reset has been
asserted by dwc3 controller due to which the QMP PLL lock fails in
qmp_combo_usb_power_on.

d) After the 100ms of GCTL core soft reset is completed, the dwc3 core
goes for initializing the host mode and invokes xhci probe. But at this
point the QMP is non-responsive and as a result, the xhci plat probe fails
during xhci_reset.

Fix this by passing orientation switch to available ucsi instances if
their gpio configuration is available before ucsi_register is invoked so
that by the time, the pmic_glink_ucsi_notify provides typec_switch to QMP,
the lane is already configured and the call would be a NOP thus not racing
with role switch.

ec68d8d25b usb: ucsi_acpi: Fix command completion handling
commit 2840143e39 upstream.

The initial UCSI code correctly handled this but the distinction
between the two completion bits was lost with the introduction of

The port shall not drive VBUS or VCONN, and shall present a
high-impedance to ground (above zOPEN) on its CC1 and CC2 pins.

Hi-Zing the CC pins is the inteded behavior for PORT_RESET.
CC pins are set to default state after tErrorRecovery in
PORT_RESET_WAIT_OFF.

4.5.2.2.2.2 Exiting From ErrorRecovery State
A Sink shall transition to Unattached.SNK after tErrorRecovery.
A Source shall transition to Unattached.SRC after tErrorRecovery.

da4e9d5cc5 usb: typec: class: fix typec_altmode_put_partner to put plugs
commit 5962ded777 upstream.

When typec_altmode_put_partner is called by a plug altmode upon release,
the port altmode the plug belongs to will not remove its reference to the
plug. The check to see if the altmode being released is a plug evaluates
against the released altmode's partner instead of the calling altmode, so
change adev in typec_altmode_put_partner to properly refer to the altmode
being released.

Because typec_altmode_set_partner calls get_device() on the port altmode,
add partner_adev that points to the port altmode in typec_put_partner to
call put_device() on. typec_altmode_set_partner is not called for port
altmodes, so add a check in typec_altmode_release to prevent
typec_altmode_put_partner() calls on port altmode release.
