Sometimes there may be reasons for which a BSS that's
actually found in scan cannot be used to connect to,
for example a nonprimary link of an NSTR mobile AP MLD
cannot be used for normal direct connections to it.
Not indicating these to userspace as we do now of course
avoids being able to connect to them, but it's better if
they're shown to userspace and it can make an appropriate
decision, without e.g. doing an additional ML probe.
Thus add an indication of what a BSS can be used for,
currently "normal" and "MLD link", including a reason
bitmap for it being not usable.
The latter can be extended later for certain BSSes if there
are other reasons they cannot be used.

Due to electrical and mechanical constraints in certain platform designs
there may be likely interference of relatively high-powered harmonics of
the (G-)DDR memory clocks with local radio module frequency bands used
by Wifi 6/6e/7.
To mitigate this, AMD has introduced a mechanism that devices can use to
notify active use of particular frequencies so that other devices can make
relative internal adjustments as necessary to avoid this resonance.

We will support arbitrary SYN Cookie with BPF, and then kfunc at
TC will preallocate reqsk and initialise some fields that should
not be overwritten later by cookie_v[46]_check().
To simplify the flow in cookie_v[46]_check(), we move such fields'
initialisation to cookie_tcp_reqsk_alloc() and factorise non-BPF
SYN Cookie handling into cookie_tcp_check(), where we validate the
cookie and allocate reqsk, as done by kfunc later.
Note that we set ireq->ecn_ok in two steps, the latter of which will
be shared by the BPF case. As cookie_ecn_ok() is one-liner, now
it's inlined.

We initialise treq->af_specific in cookie_tcp_reqsk_alloc() so that
we can look up a key later in tcp_create_openreq_child().
Initially, that change was added for MD5 by commit ba5a4fdd63 ("tcp:
make sure treq->af_specific is initialized"), but it has not been used
since commit d0f2b7a9ca ("tcp: Disable header prediction for MD5
flow.").
Now, treq->af_specific is used only by TCP-AO, so, we can move that
initialisation into tcp_ao_syncookie().
In addition to that, l3index in cookie_v[46]_check() is only used for
tcp_ao_syncookie(), so let's move it as well.
While at it, we move down tcp_ao_syncookie() in cookie_v4_check() so
that it will be called after security_inet_conn_request() to make
functions order consistent with cookie_v6_check().

If the initial subflow has been removed, we cannot know without checking
other counters, e.g. ss -ti <filter> | grep -c tcp-ulp-mptcp or
getsockopt(SOL_MPTCP, MPTCP_FULL_INFO, ...) (or others except MPTCP_INFO
of course) and then check mptcp_subflow_data->num_subflows to get the
total amount of subflows.
This patch adds a new counter mptcpi_subflows_total in mptcpi_flags to
store the total amount of subflows, including the initial one. A new
helper __mptcp_has_initial_subflow() is added to check whether the
initial subflow has been removed or not. With this helper, we can then
compute the total amount of subflows from mptcp_info by doing something
like:
mptcpi_subflows_total = mptcpi_subflows +
__mptcp_has_initial_subflow(msk).

Link the page pools with netdevs. This needs to be netns compatible
so we have two options. Either we record the pools per netns and
have to worry about moving them as the netdev gets moved.
Or we record them directly on the netdev so they move with the netdev
without any extra work.
Implement the latter option. Since pools may outlast netdev we need
a place to store orphans. In time honored tradition use loopback

Add a possible_interfaces member to struct phy_device to indicate which
interfaces a clause 45 PHY may switch between depending on the media.
This must be populated by the PHY driver by the time the .config_init()
method completes according to the PHYs host-side configuration.
For example, the Marvell 88x3310 PHY can switch between 10GBASE-R,
5GBASE-R, 2500BASE-X, and SGMII on the host side depending on the media
side speed, so all these interface modes are set in the
possible_interfaces member.
This allows phylib users (such as phylink) to know in advance which
interface modes to expect, which allows them to appropriately restrict
the advertised link modes according to the capabilities of other parts
of the link.

We really don't want to do atomic_read() or anything like that, since we
already have the value, not the lock. The whole point of this is that
we've loaded the lock from memory, and we want to check whether the
value we loaded was a locked one or not.
The main use of this is the lockref code, which loads both the lock and
the reference count in one atomic operation, and then works on that
combined value. With the atomic_read(), the compiler would pointlessly
spill the value to the stack, in order to then be able to read it back
"atomically".
This is the qspinlock version of commit c6f4a90022 ("asm-generic:
ticket-lock: Optimize arch_spin_value_unlocked()") which fixed this same
bug for ticket locks.

pull-request: bpf-next 2023-11-21
We've added 85 non-merge commits during the last 12 day(s) which contain
a total of 63 files changed, 4464 insertions(+), 1484 deletions(-).
The main changes are:
1) Huge batch of verifier changes to improve BPF register bounds logic
and range support along with a large test suite, and verifier log
improvements, all from Andrii Nakryiko.
2) Add a new kfunc which acquires the associated cgroup of a task within
a specific cgroup v1 hierarchy where the latter is identified by its id,
from Yafang Shao.
3) Extend verifier to allow bpf_refcount_acquire() of a map value field
obtained via direct load which is a use-case needed in sched_ext,
from Dave Marchevsky.
4) Fix bpf_get_task_stack() helper to add the correct crosstask check
for the get_perf_callchain(), from Jordan Rome.
5) Fix BPF task_iter internals where lockless usage of next_thread()
was wrong. The rework also simplifies the code, from Oleg Nesterov.
6) Fix uninitialized tail padding via LIBBPF_OPTS_RESET, and another
fix for certain BPF UAPI structs to fix verifier failures seen
in bpf_dynptr usage, from Yonghong Song.
7) Add BPF selftest fixes for map_percpu_stats flakes due to per-CPU BPF
memory allocator not being able to allocate per-CPU pointer successfully,
from Hou Tao.
8) Add prep work around dynptr and string handling for kfuncs which
is later going to be used by file verification via BPF LSM and fsverity,
from Song Liu.
9) Improve BPF selftests to update multiple prog_tests to use ASSERT_*
macros, from Yuran Pereira.
10) Optimize LPM trie lookup to check prefixlen before walking the trie,
from Florian Lehner.
11) Consolidate virtio/9p configs from BPF selftests in config.vm file
given they are needed consistently across archs, from Manu Bretelle.
12) Small BPF verifier refactor to remove register_is_const(),
from Shung-Hsi Yu.

To fully benefit from previous commit add one byte of state
in the first cache line recording if we need to look at
the slow part.
The packing isn't all that impressive right now, we create
a 7B hole. I'm expecting Olek's rework will reshuffle this,
anyway.

struct page_pool is rather performance critical and we use
16B of the first cache line to store 2 pointers used only
by test code. Future patches will add more informational
(non-fast path) attributes.
It's convenient for the user of the API to not have to worry
which fields are fast and which are slow path. Use struct
groups to split the params into the two categories internally.

In some cases verifier can't infer convergence of the bpf_loop()
iteration. E.g. for the following program:
static int cb(__u32 idx, struct num_context* ctx)
{
ctx->i++;
return 0;
}
SEC("?raw_tp")
int prog(void *_)
{
struct num_context ctx = { .i = 0 };
__u8 choice_arr[2] = { 0, 1 };
bpf_loop(2, cb, &ctx, 0);
return choice_arr[ctx.i];
}
Each 'cb' simulation would eventually return to 'prog' and reach
'return choice_arr[ctx.i]' statement. At which point ctx.i would be
marked precise, thus forcing verifier to track multitude of separate
states with {.i=0}, {.i=1}, ... at bpf_loop() callback entry.
This commit allows "brute force" handling for such cases by limiting
number of callback body simulations using 'umax' value of the first
bpf_loop() parameter.
For this, extend bpf_func_state with 'callback_depth' field.
Increment this field when callback visiting state is pushed to states
traversal stack. For frame #N it's 'callback_depth' field counts how
many times callback with frame depth N+1 had been executed.
Use bpf_func_state specifically to allow independent tracking of
callback depths when multiple nested bpf_loop() calls are present.

Prior to this patch callbacks were handled as regular function calls,
execution of callback body was modeled exactly once.
This patch updates callbacks handling logic as follows:
- introduces a function push_callback_call() that schedules callback
body verification in env->head stack;
- updates prepare_func_exit() to reschedule callback body verification
upon BPF_EXIT;
- as calls to bpf_*_iter_next(), calls to callback invoking functions
are marked as checkpoints;
- is_state_visited() is updated to stop callback based iteration when
some identical parent state is found.
Paths with callback function invoked zero times are now verified first,
which leads to necessity to modify some selftests:
- the following negative tests required adding release/unlock/drop
calls to avoid previously masked unrelated error reports:
- cb_refs.c:underflow_prog
- exceptions_fail.c:reject_rbtree_add_throw
- exceptions_fail.c:reject_with_cp_reference
- the following precision tracking selftests needed change in expected
log trace:
- verifier_subprog_precision.c:callback_result_precise
(note: r0 precision is no longer propagated inside callback and
I think this is a correct behavior)
- verifier_subprog_precision.c:parent_callee_saved_reg_precise_with_callback
- verifier_subprog_precision.c:parent_stack_slot_precise_with_callback

ndo_get_peer_dev is used in tcx BPF fast path, therefore make use of
indirect call wrapper and therefore optimize the bpf_redirect_peer()
internal handling a bit. Add a small skb_get_peer_dev() wrapper which
utilizes the INDIRECT_CALL_1() macro instead of open coding.
Future work could potentially add a peer pointer directly into struct
net_device in future and convert veth and netkit over to use it so
that eventually ndo_get_peer_dev can be removed.

Just move struct pcpu_dstats out of the vrf into the core, and streamline
the field names slightly, so they better align with the {t,l}stats ones.
No functional change otherwise. A conversion of the u64s to u64_stats_t
could be done at a separate point in future. This move is needed as we are
moving the {t,l,d}stats allocation/freeing to the core.
