0ad3f0b384 ALSA: hda: Fix potential access overflow in beep helper
The beep control helper function blindly stores the values in two
stereo channels no matter whether the actual control is mono or
stereo. This is practically harmless, but it annoys the recently
introduced sanity check, resulting in an error when the checker is
enabled.

This patch corrects the behavior to store only on the defined array
member.

ASoC: cs4270: pull reset GPIO low then high
Pull the RST line low then high when initializing the driver,
in order to force a reset of the chip.
Previously, the line was not pulled low, which could result in

c4e8ba7390 drm/i915/gt: Yield the timeslice if caught waiting on a user semaphore
If we find ourselves waiting on a MI_SEMAPHORE_WAIT, either within the
user batch or in our own preamble, the engine raises a
GT_WAIT_ON_SEMAPHORE interrupt. We can unmask that interrupt and so
respond to a semaphore wait by yielding the timeslice, if we have
another context to yield to!

The only real complication is that the interrupt is only generated for
the start of the semaphore wait, and is asynchronous to our
process_csb() -- that is, we may not have registered the timeslice before
we see the interrupt. To ensure we don't miss a potential semaphore
blocking forward progress (e.g. selftests/live_timeslice_preempt) we mark
the interrupt and apply it to the next timeslice regardless of whether it
was active at the time.

v2: We use semaphores in preempt-to-busy, within the timeslicing
implementation itself! Ergo, when we do insert a preemption due to an
expired timeslice, the new context may start with the missed semaphore
flagged by the retired context and be yielded, ad infinitum. To avoid
this, read the context id at the time of the semaphore interrupt and
only yield if that context is still active.

Previously, we used to have a bitmap with enabled CPUs and that was

1493e0f944 KVM: s390: vsie: Fix possible race when shadowing region 3 tables
We have to properly retry again by returning -EINVAL immediately in case
somebody else instantiated the table concurrently. We missed to add the
goto in this function only. The code now matches the other, similar
shadowing functions.

We are overwriting an existing region 2 table entry. All allocated pages
are added to the crst_list to be freed later, so they are not lost
forever. However, when unshadowing the region 2 table, we wouldn't trigger
unshadowing of the original shadowed region 3 table that we replaced. It
would get unshadowed when the original region 3 table is modified. As it's
not connected to the page table hierarchy anymore, it's not going to get
used anymore. However, for a limited time, this page table will stick
around, so it's in some sense a temporary memory leak.

Identified by manual code inspection. I don't think this classifies as
stable material.

4d4cee96fb KVM: s390: vsie: Fix delivery of addressing exceptions
Whenever we get an -EFAULT, we failed to read in guest 2 physical
address space. Such addressing exceptions are reported via a program
intercept to the nested hypervisor.

We faked the intercept, we have to return to guest 2. Instead, right
now we would be returning -EFAULT from the intercept handler, eventually
crashing the VM.
the correct thing to do is to return 1 as rc == 1 is the internal
representation of "we have to go back into g2".

Addressing exceptions can only happen if the g2->g3 page tables
reference invalid g2 addresses (say, either a table or the final page is
not accessible - so something that basically never happens in sane
environments.

In case we have a region 1 the following calculation
(31 + ((gmap->asce & _ASCE_TYPE_MASK) >> 2)*11)

free to use instructions like sllg. sllg will only use 6 bits of the

eeec26d5da time/namespace: Add max_time_namespaces ucount
Michael noticed that userns limit for number of time namespaces is missing.

Furthermore, time namespace introduced UCOUNT_TIME_NAMESPACES, but didn't
introduce an array member in user_table[]. It would make array's
initialisation OOB write, but by luck the user_table array has an excessive
empty member (all accesses to the array are limited with UCOUNT_COUNTS - so
it silently reuses the last free member.

Fixes user-visible regression: max_inotify_instances by reason of the
missing UCOUNT_ENTRY() has limited max number of namespaces instead of the
number of inotify instances.

Commit 1d5c76e664 ("xen-blkfront: switch kcalloc to kvcalloc for

bc7b188023 drm/nouveau/svm: remove useless SVM range check
When nouveau processes GPU faults, it checks to see if the fault address
falls within the "unmanaged" range which is reserved for fixed allocations
instead of addresses chosen by the core mm code. If start is greater than
or equal to svmm->unmanaged.limit, then limit will also be greater than
svmm->unmanaged.limit which is greater than svmm->unmanaged.start and the
start = max_t(u64, start, svmm->unmanaged.limit) will change nothing.
Just remove the useless lines of code.

b92103b559 drm/nouveau/svm: fix vma range check for migration
find_vma_intersection(mm, start, end) only guarantees that end is greater
than or equal to vma->vm_start but doesn't guarantee that start is
greater than or equal to vma->vm_start. The calculation for the
intersecting range in nouveau_svmm_bind() isn't accounting for this and
can call migrate_vma_setup() with a starting address less than
vma->vm_start. This results in migrate_vma_setup() returning -EINVAL for
the range instead of nouveau skipping that part of the range and migrating
the rest.

e68296259c drm/i915/gem: Wait until the context is finally retired before releasing engines
If we want to percolate information back from the HW, up through the GEM
context, we need to wait until the intel_context is scheduled out for
the last time. This is handled by the retirement of the intel_context's
barrier, i.e. by listening to the pulse after the notional unpin. So
wait until the intel_context is finally retired before releasing the
engine, so that we can inspect the final context state and pass it on.
