c55a5bde67 netfilter: nf_tables: fix error handling of rule replacement
commit 59900e0a01 upstream.

In general, if a transaction object is added to the list successfully,
we can rely on the abort path to undo what we've done. This allows us to
simplify the error handling of the rule replacement path in
nf_tables_newrule().

This implicitly fixes an unnecessary removal of the old rule, which
needs to be left in place if we fail to replace.

1be080b5a8 net: make skb_gso_segment error handling more robust
commit 330966e501 upstream.

skb_gso_segment has three possible return values:
1. a pointer to the first segmented skb
2. an errno value (IS_ERR())
3. NULL. This can happen when GSO is used for header verification.

However, several callers currently test IS_ERR instead of IS_ERR_OR_NULL
and would oops when NULL is returned.

Note that these call sites should never actually see such a NULL return
value; all callers mask out the GSO bits in the feature argument.

However, there have been issues with some protocol handlers erronously not
respecting the specified feature mask in some cases.

It is preferable to get 'have to turn off hw offloading, else slow' reports
rather than 'kernel crashes'.

a49b691931 ipvs: add missing ip_vs_pe_put in sync code
commit 528c943f3b upstream.

ip_vs_conn_fill_param_sync() gets in param.pe a module
reference for persistence engine from __ip_vs_pe_getbyname()
but forgets to put it. Problem occurs in backup for
sync protocol v1 (2.6.39).

Also, pe_data usually comes in sync messages for
connection templates and ip_vs_conn_new() copies
the pointer only in this case. Make sure pe_data
is not leaked if it comes unexpectedly for normal
connections. Leak can happen only if bogus messages
are sent to backup server.

2fa474a05a ipvs: rerouting to local clients is not needed anymore
commit 579eb62ac3 upstream.

commit f5a41847ac ("ipvs: move ip_route_me_harder for ICMP")
from 2.6.37 introduced ip_route_me_harder() call for responses to
local clients, so that we can provide valid rt_src after SNAT.
It was used by TCP to provide valid daddr for ip_send_reply().
After commit 0a5ebb8000 ("ipv4: Pass explicit daddr arg to
ip_send_reply()." from 3.0 this rerouting is not needed anymore
and should be avoided, especially in LOCAL_IN.

85c981d1b1 netfilter: conntrack: disable generic tracking for known protocols
commit db29a9508a upstream.

Given following iptables ruleset:

-P FORWARD DROP
-A FORWARD -m sctp --dport 9 -j ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -p tcp -m conntrack -m state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT

One would assume that this allows SCTP on port 9 and TCP on port 80.
Unfortunately, if the SCTP conntrack module is not loaded, this allows
*all* SCTP communication, to pass though, i.e. -p sctp -j ACCEPT,
which we think is a security issue.

This is because on the first SCTP packet on port 9, we create a dummy
"generic l4" conntrack entry without any port information (since
conntrack doesn't know how to extract this information).

All subsequent packets that are unknown will then be in established
state since they will fallback to proto_generic and will match the
'generic' entry.

Our originally proposed version [1] completely disabled generic protocol
tracking, but Jozsef suggests to not track protocols for which a more
suitable helper is available, hence we now mitigate the issue for in
tree known ct protocol helpers only, so that at least NAT and direction
information will still be preserved for others.

7ef36feadd netfilter: nf_log: release skbuff on nlmsg put failure
commit b51d3fa364 upstream.

The kernel should reserve enough room in the skb so that the DONE
message can always be appended. However, in case of e.g. new attribute
erronously not being size-accounted for, __nfulnl_send() will still
try to put next nlmsg into this full skbuf, causing the skb to be stuck

Fix issue by releasing skb immediately after nlmsg_put error and

945b2b2d25 netfilter: nf_nat: fix oops on netns removal
Quoting Samu Kallio:

Basically what's happening is, during netns cleanup,
nf_nat_net_exit gets called before ipv4_net_exit. As I understand
it, nf_nat_net_exit is supposed to kill any conntrack entries which
have NAT context (through nf_ct_iterate_cleanup), but for some
reason this doesn't happen (perhaps something else is still holding
 refs to those entries?).

When ipv4_net_exit is called, conntrack entries (including those
with NAT context) are cleaned up, but the
nat_bysource hashtable is long gone - freed in nf_nat_net_exit. The
bug happens when attempting to free a conntrack entry whose NAT hash
'prev' field points to a slot in the freed hash table (head for that
 bin).

We ignore conntracks with null nat bindings. But this is wrong,
as these are in bysource hash table as well.

Restore nat-cleaning for the netns-is-being-removed case.

Since 4fefee5 ("netfilter: nf_tables: allow to delete several objects

this is limited to 16 bits, which means that it will overrun after
2^16 rules.

Use a u32 chain counter and check for overflows (just like we do for

cd5f336f17 netfilter: ctnetlink: fix refcnt leak in dying/unconfirmed list dumper
'last' keeps track of the ct that had its refcnt bumped during previous
dump cycle. Thus it must not be overwritten until end-of-function.

Another (unrelated, theoretical) issue: Don't attempt to bump refcnt of a conntrack
whose reference count is already 0. Such conntrack is being destroyed
right now, its memory is freed once we release the percpu dying spinlock.

Replaced non-standard C use of Variable Length Arrays In Structs (VLAIS) in
xt_repldata.h with a C99 compliant flexible array member and then calculated
offsets to the other struct members. These other members aren't referenced by
name in this code, however this patch maintains the same memory layout and
padding as was previously accomplished using VLAIS.

Had the original structure been ordered differently, with the entries VLA at
the end, then it could have been a flexible member, and this patch would have
been a lot simpler. However since the data stored in this structure is
ultimately exported to userspace, the order of this structure can't be changed.

This patch makes no attempt to change the existing behavior, merely the way in
which the current layout is accomplished using standard C99 constructs. As such
the code can now be compiled with either gcc or clang.

This version of the patch removes the trailing alignment that the VLAIS
structure would allocate in order to simplify the patch.

Netfilter/nf_tables fixes for net-next

This patchset contains fixes for recent updates available in your
net-next, they are:

1) Fix double memory allocation for accounting objects that results
in a leak, this slipped through with the new quota extension,
   patch from Mathieu Poirier.

2) Fix broken ordering when adding set element transactions.

3) Make sure that objects are released in reverse order in the abort
path, to avoid possible use-after-free when accessing dependencies.

4) Allow to delete several objects (as long as dependencies are
fulfilled) by using one batch. This includes changes in the use
counter semantics of the nf_tables objects.

5) Fix illegal sleeping allocation from rcu callback.

73f156a6e8 inetpeer: get rid of ip_id_count
Ideally, we would need to generate IP ID using a per destination IP
generator.

linux kernels used inet_peer cache for this purpose, but this had a huge
cost on servers disabling MTU discovery.

1) each inet_peer struct consumes 192 bytes

2) inetpeer cache uses a binary tree of inet_peer structs,
with a nominal size of ~66000 elements under load.

3) lookups in this tree are hitting a lot of cache lines, as tree depth
   is about 20.

4) If server deals with many tcp flows, we have a high probability of
not finding the inet_peer, allocating a fresh one, inserting it in
the tree with same initial ip_id_count, (cf secure_ip_id())

5) We garbage collect inet_peer aggressively.

IP ID generation do not have to be 'perfect'

Goal is trying to avoid duplicates in a short period of time,
so that reassembly units have a chance to complete reassembly of
fragments belonging to one message before receiving other fragments
with a recycled ID.

We simply use an array of generators, and a Jenkin hash using the dst IP
as a key.

ipv6_select_ident() is put back into net/ipv6/ip6_output.c where it
belongs (it is only used from this file)

secure_ip_id() and secure_ipv6_id() no longer are needed.

Rename ip_select_ident_more() to ip_select_ident_segs() to avoid
unnecessary decrement/increment of the number of segments.
