Loading an initrd passed via the kernel command line is deprecated: it
is limited to files that reside in the same volume as the one the kernel
itself was loaded from, and we have more flexible ways to achieve the
same. So make it configurable so new architectures can decide not to
enable it.

Use follow_pfn() to get the PFN of a PFNMAP VMA instead of assuming that
vma->vm_pgoff holds the base PFN of the VMA. This fixes a bug where
attempting to do VFIO_IOMMU_MAP_DMA on an arbitrary PFNMAP'd region of
memory calculates garbage for the PFN.
Hilariously, this only got detected because the first "PFN" calculated
by vaddr_get_pfn() is PFN 0 (vma->vm_pgoff==0), and iommu_iova_to_phys()
uses PA==0 as an error, which triggers a WARN in vfio_unmap_unpin()
because the translation "failed". PFN 0 is now unconditionally reserved
on x86 in order to mitigate L1TF, which causes is_invalid_reserved_pfn()
to return true and in turns results in vaddr_get_pfn() returning success
for PFN 0. Eventually the bogus calculation runs into PFNs that aren't
reserved and leads to failure in vfio_pin_map_dma(). The subsequent
call to vfio_remove_dma() attempts to unmap PFN 0 and WARNs.

This reverts commit 6bb0942e8f.
Unfortunately it would appear that the rumors we've heard of sideband
message interleaving not being very well supported are true. On the
Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 dock that I have, interleaved messages
appear to just get dropped:
[drm:drm_dp_mst_wait_tx_reply [drm_kms_helper]] timedout msg send
00000000571ddfd0 2 1
[dp_mst] txmsg cur_offset=2 cur_len=2 seqno=1 state=SENT path_msg=1 dst=00
[dp_mst] type=ENUM_PATH_RESOURCES contents:
[dp_mst] port=2
DP descriptor for this hub:
OUI 90-cc-24 dev-ID SYNA3 HW-rev 1.0 SW-rev 3.12 quirks 0x0008
It would seem like as well that this is a somewhat well known issue in
the field. From section 5.4.2 of the DisplayPort 2.0 specification:
There are MST Sink/Branch devices in the field that do not handle
interleaved message transactions.
To facilitate message transaction handling by downstream devices, an
MST Source device shall generate message transactions in an atomic
manner (i.e., the MST Source device shall not concurrently interleave
multiple message transactions). Therefore, an MST Source device shall
clear the Message_Sequence_No value in the Sideband_MSG_Header to 0.
MST Source devices that support field policy updates by way of
software should update the policy to forego the generation of
interleaved message transactions.
This is a bit disappointing, as features like HDCP require that we send
a sideband request every ~2 seconds for each active stream. However,
there isn't really anything in the specification that allows us to
accurately probe for interleaved messages.
If it ends up being that we -really- need this in the future, we might
be able to whitelist hubs where interleaving is known to work-or maybe
try some sort of heuristics. But for now, let's just play it safe and
not use it.

We must not call pinctrl_gpio_can_use_line() with the gpio_lock taken

This isn't perfect - there's a moment between calling

For write operations issued to a null_blk device with zoned mode
enabled, the state and write pointer position of the zone targeted by
the command should be checked before badblocks and memory backing
are handled as the write may be first failed due to, for instance, a
sector position not aligned with the zone write pointer. This order of
checking for errors reflects more accuratly the behavior of physical
zoned devices.
Furthermore, the write pointer position of the target zone should be
incremented only and only if no errors are reported by badblocks and
memory backing handling.
To fix this, introduce the small helper function null_process_cmd()
which execute null_handle_badblocks() and null_handle_memory_backed()
and use this function in null_zone_write() to correctly handle write
requests to zoned null devices depending on the type and state of the
write target zone. Also call this function in null_handle_zoned() to
process read requests to zoned null devices.
null_process_cmd() is called directly from null_handle_cmd() for
regular null devices, resulting in no functional change for these type
of devices. To have symmetric names, the function null_handle_zoned()
is renamed to null_process_zoned_cmd().

It's likely that the vcpu fails to handle all virtual interrupts if
userspace decides to destroy it, leaving the pending ones stay in the
ap_list. If the un-handled one is a LPI, its vgic_irq structure will
be eventually leaked because of an extra refcount increment in
vgic_queue_irq_unlock().
This was detected by kmemleak on almost every guest destroy, the
backtrace is as follows:

Fix it by retiring all pending LPIs in the ap_list on the destroy path.
p.s. I can also reproduce it on a normal guest shutdown. It is because
userspace still send LPIs to vcpu (through KVM_SIGNAL_MSI ioctl) while
the guest is being shutdown and unable to handle it. A little strange
though and haven't dig further...

There is no point in accessing the HW when writing to any of the
ISPENDR/ICPENDR registers from userspace, as only the guest should
be allowed to change the HW state.
Introduce new userspace-specific accessors that deal solely with
the virtual state. Note that the API differs from that of GICv3,
where userspace exclusively uses ISPENDR to set the state. Too
bad we can't reuse it.

btrfs_recover_relocation() invokes btrfs_join_transaction(), which joins
a btrfs_trans_handle object into transactions and returns a reference of
it with increased refcount to "trans".
When btrfs_recover_relocation() returns, "trans" becomes invalid, so the
refcount should be decreased to keep refcount balanced.
The reference counting issue happens in one exception handling path of
btrfs_recover_relocation(). When read_fs_root() failed, the refcnt
increased by btrfs_join_transaction() is not decreased, causing a refcnt
leak.
Fix this issue by calling btrfs_end_transaction() on this error path

Dave reported a problem where we were panicing with generic/475 with
misc-5.7. This is because we were doing IO after we had stopped all of
the worker threads, because we do the log tree cleanup on roots at drop
time. Cleaning up the log tree will always need to do reads if we
happened to have evicted the blocks from memory.
Because of this simply add a helper to btrfs_cleanup_transaction() that
will go through and drop all of the log roots. This gets run before we
do the close_ctree() work, and thus we are allowed to do any reads that
we would need. I ran this through many iterations of generic/475 with
constrained memory and I did not see the issue.

intel_gt_wait_for_idle() tries to wait until all the outstanding requests
are retired and the GPU is idle. As a side effect of retiring requests,
we may submit more work to flush any pm barriers, and so the
wait-for-idle tries to flush the background pm work and catch the new
requests. However, if the work completed in the background before we
were able to flush, it would queue the extra barrier request without us
noticing -- and so we would return from wait-for-idle with one request
remaining. (This breaks e.g. record_default_state where we need to wait
until that barrier is retired, and it may slow suspend down by causing
us to wait on the background retirement worker as opposed to immediately
retiring the barrier.)
However, since we track if there has been a submission since the engine
pm barrier, we can very quickly detect if the idle barrier is still
outstanding.

During the virtual engine's submission tasklet, we take the request and
insert into the submission queue on each of our siblings. This seems
quite simply, and so no problems with ordering. However, the sibling
execlists' submission tasklets may run concurrently with the virtual
engine's tasklet, submitting the request to HW before the virtual
finishes its task of telling all the siblings. If this happens, the
sibling tasklet may *reorder* the ve->sibling[] array that the virtual
engine tasklet is processing. This can *only* reorder within the
elements already processed by the virtual engine, nevertheless the

For C header files Documentation/process/license-rules.rst
mandates C-like comments (opposed to C source files where
C++ style should be used).
