3e6c4753bc mei: nfc: fix memory leak in error path
commit 8e8248b136 upstream.

NFC will leak buffer if send failed.
Use single exit point that does the freeing

fec95c2a6e mei: reset client state on queued connect request
commit 73ab423238 upstream.

If connect request is queued (e.g. device in pg) set client state
to initializing, thus avoid preliminary exit in wait if current
state is disconnected.

commit b04ada92ff upstream.

We cleared H_RST for H_CSR on spurious interrupt generated when ME_RDY
while cleared and not while ME_RDY is set. The spurious interrupt
is not delivered on all platforms in this case the

360fec6392 mei: ignore client writing state during cb completion
commit 34ec43661f upstream.

Ignore client writing state during cb completion to fix a memory
leak.

When moving cbs to the completion list we should not look at
writing_state as this state can be already overwritten by next
write, the fact that a cb is on the write waiting list means
that it was already written to the HW and we can safely complete it.

Same pays for wait in poll handler, we do not have to check the state
wake is done after completion list processing.

5716684805 mei: me: do not load the driver if the FW doesn't support MEI interface
commit 5e6533a6f5 upstream.

NM and SPS FW types that may run on ME device on server platforms
do not have valid MEI/HECI interface and driver should not
be bound to it as this might lead to system hung.
In practice not all BIOSes effectively hide such devices from the
OS and in some cases it is not possible.

We determine FW type by examining Host FW status registers in order to
unbind the driver.
In this patch we are adding check for ME on Cougar Point, Lynx Point
Devices

Write callbacks are released on the write completed path but
when file handler is closed before the writes are

accb884b32 mei: set client's read_cb to NULL when flow control fails
In mei_cl_read_start(), if it fails to send flow control request, it
will release "cl->read_cb" but forget to set pointer to NULL, leaving
"cl->read_cb" still pointing to random memory, next time this client is
operated like mei_release(), it has chance to refer to this wrong pointer.

Fixes: PANIC at kfree in mei_release()

33ec082631 mei: revamp mei reset state machine
1. MEI_DEV_RESETTING device state spans only hardware reset flow
while starting dev state is saved into a local variable for further
reference, this let us to reduce big if statements in case we
are trying to avoid nested resets

2. During initializations if the reset ended in MEI_DEV_DISABLED device

3. Remove redundant interrupts_enabled parameter as this
can be deduced from the starting dev_state

544f946014 mei: do not run reset flow from the interrupt thread
This fixes a potential deadlock in case of a firmware
initiated reset

mei_reset has a dialog with the interrupt thread hence
it has to be run from an another work item

Most of the mei_resets were called from mei_hbm_dispatch
which is called in interrupt thread context so this
function underwent major revamp. The error code is
propagated to the interrupt thread and if needed
the reset is scheduled from there.

e2b31644e9 mei: bus: stop wait for read during cl state transition
Bus layer omitted check for client state transition while waiting
for read completion
The client state transition may occur for example as result
of firmware initiated reset

Add mei_cl_is_transitioning wrapper to reduce the code
repetition.:

1aee351a73 mei: make me client counters less error prone
1. u8 counters are prone to hard to detect overflow:
make them unsigned long to match bit_ functions argument type

2. don't check me_clients_num for negativity, it is unsigned.

3. init all the me client counters from one place

b9be2c60fc misc: mei: remove unnecessary pci_set_drvdata()
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release
or on probe failure. Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the
device driver data to NULL.

2ebf8c94d4 mei: propagate error from write routines instead of ENODEV
ENODEV will cause application to try to reconnect since
it assumes that device went through the reset
write errors are not always fatal it can happen due to
resource contention
