1637ff670a jump_label: Rename JUMP_LABEL_{EN,DIS}ABLE to JUMP_LABEL_{JMP,NOP}
commit 76b235c6bc upstream.

Since we've already stepped away from ENABLE is a JMP and DISABLE is a
NOP with the branch_default bits, and are going to make it even worse,
rename it to make it all clearer.

This way we don't mix multiple levels of logic attributes, but have a
plain 'physical' name for what the current instruction patching status
of a jump label is.

This is a first step in removing the naming confusion that has led to
a stream of avoidable bugs such as:

90cc6c818a MIPS: jump_label.c: Handle the microMIPS J instruction encoding
commit 935c2dbec4 upstream.

Implement the microMIPS encoding of the J instruction for the purpose of
the static keys feature, fixing a crash early on in bootstrap as the
kernel is unhappy seeing the ISA bit set in jump table entries. Make
sure the ISA bit correctly reflects the instruction encoding chosen for
the kernel, 0 for the standard MIPS and 1 for the microMIPS encoding.

Also make sure the instruction to patch is a 32-bit NOP in the microMIPS
mode as by default the 16-bit short encoding is assumed

ef4debcaca MIPS: jump_label.c: Correct the span of the J instruction
commit 99436f7d69 upstream.

Correct the check for the span of the 256MB segment addressable by the J
instruction according to this instruction's semantics. The calculation
of the jump target is applied to the address of the delay-slot
instruction that immediately follows. Adjust the check accordingly by
adding 4 to `e->code' that holds the address of the J instruction
itself.

8931fadeb9 MIPS: Remove function size check in get_frame_info()
commit 2b424cfc69 upstream.

Patch (b6c7a324df "MIPS: Fix get_frame_info() handling of
microMIPS function size.") introduces additional function size
check for microMIPS by only checking insn between ip and ip + func_size.
However, func_size in get_frame_info() is always 0 if KALLSYMS is not
enabled. This causes get_frame_info() to return immediately without
calculating correct frame_size, which in turn causes "Can't analyze
schedule() prologue" warning messages at boot time.

This patch removes func_size check, and let the frame_size check run
up to 128 insns for both MIPS and microMIPS.

2c25bea357 MIPS: Correct the 64-bit DSP accumulator register size
commit f5958b4cf4 upstream.

Use the `unsigned long' rather than `__u32' type for DSP accumulator
registers, like with the regular MIPS multiply/divide accumulator and
general-purpose registers, as all are 64-bit in 64-bit implementations
and using a 32-bit data type leads to contents truncation on context
saving.

Update `arch_ptrace' and `compat_arch_ptrace' accordingly, removing
casts that are similarly not used with multiply/divide accumulator or
general-purpose register accesses.

a87ddffa10 MIPS: ptrace: Expose FIR register through FP regset
commit 71e909c0cd upstream.

Correct commit 7aeb753b53 ("MIPS: Implement task_user_regset_view.")
and expose the FIR register using the unused 4 bytes at the end of the
NT_PRFPREG regset. Without that register included clients cannot use
the PTRACE_GETREGSET request to retrieve the complete FPU register set
and have to resort to one of the older interfaces, either PTRACE_PEEKUSR
or PTRACE_GETFPREGS, to retrieve the missing piece of data. Also the
register is irreversibly missing from core dumps.

This register is architecturally hardwired and read-only so the write
path does not matter. Ignore data supplied on writes then.

7944067b7e MIPS: BMIPS: Do not mask IPIs during suspend
commit 06a3f0c9f2 upstream.

Commit a3e6c1eff5 ("MIPS: IRQ: Fix disable_irq on CPU IRQs") fixes an
issue where disable_irq did not actually disable the irq. The bug caused
our IPIs to not be disabled, which actually is the correct behavior.

With the addition of commit a3e6c1eff5 ("MIPS: IRQ: Fix disable_irq on
CPU IRQs"), the IPIs were getting disabled going into suspend, thus
schedule_ipi() was not being called. This caused deadlocks where
schedulable task were not being scheduled and other cpus were waiting
for them to do something.

Add the IRQF_NO_SUSPEND flag so an irq_disable will not be called on the
IPIs during suspend.

9645511250 MIPS: CPS: Fix MIPS_ISA_LEVEL_RAW fallout
commit 8dbc1864b7 upstream.

Commit 17278a91e0 ("MIPS: CPS: Fix r1 .set mt assembler warning")
added .set MIPS_ISA_LEVEL_RAW to silence warnings about .set mt on r1,
however this can result in a MOVE being encoded as a 64-bit DADDU
instruction on certain version of binutils (e.g. 2.22), and reserved
instruction exceptions at runtime on 32-bit hardware.

Reduce the sizes of the push/pop sections to include only instructions

d97c5dd698 MIPS: Fix an FCSR access API regression with NT_PRFPREG and MSA
commit be07a6a118 upstream.

Fix a commit 72b22bbad1 ("MIPS: Don't assume 64-bit FP registers for
FP regset") public API regression, then activated by commit 1db1af84d6
("MIPS: Basic MSA context switching support"), that caused the FCSR
register not to be read or written for CONFIG_CPU_HAS_MSA kernel
configurations (regardless of actual presence or absence of the MSA
feature in a given processor) with ptrace(2) PTRACE_GETREGSET and
PTRACE_SETREGSET requests nor recorded in core dumps.

This is because with !CONFIG_CPU_HAS_MSA configurations the whole of
`elf_fpregset_t' array is bulk-copied as it is, which includes the FCSR
in one half of the last, 33rd slot, whereas with CONFIG_CPU_HAS_MSA
configurations array elements are copied individually, and then only the
leading 32 FGR slots while the remaining slot is ignored.

Correct the code then such that only FGR slots are copied in the
respective !MSA and MSA helpers an then the FCSR slot is handled
separately in common code. Use `ptrace_setfcr31' to update the FCSR
too, so that the read-only mask is respected.

Retrieving a correct value of FCSR is important in debugging not only
for the human to be able to get the right interpretation of the
situation, but for correct operation of GDB as well. This is because
the condition code bits in FSCR are used by GDB to determine the
location to place a breakpoint at when single-stepping through an FPU
branch instruction. If such a breakpoint is placed incorrectly (i.e.
with the condition reversed), then it will be missed, likely causing the
debuggee to run away from the control of GDB and consequently breaking
the process of investigation.

Fortunately GDB continues using the older PTRACE_GETFPREGS ptrace(2)
request which is unaffected, so the regression only really hits with
post-mortem debug sessions using a core dump file, in which case
execution, and consequently single-stepping through branches is not
possible. Of course core files created by buggy kernels out there will
have the value of FCSR recorded clobbered, but such core files cannot be
corrected and the person using them simply will have to be aware that
the value of FCSR retrieved is not reliable.

Which also means we can likely get away without defining a replacement
API which would ensure a correct value of FSCR to be retrieved, or none
at all.

This is based on previous work by Alex Smith, extensively rewritten.

6ddbc3b6a9 MIPS: Guard against any partial write attempt with PTRACE_SETREGSET
commit dc24d0edf3 upstream.

Complement commit d614fd58a2 ("mips/ptrace: Preserve previous

write attempt is made with PTRACE_SETREGSET, as we do not preinitialize
any temporaries used to hold incoming register data and consequently
random data could be written.

It is the responsibility of the caller, such as `ptrace_regset', to
arrange for writes to span whole registers only, so here we only assert
that it has indeed happened.

914fdbe474 MIPS: Factor out NT_PRFPREG regset access helpers
commit a03fe72572 upstream.

respectively, to avoid having to deal with excessive indentation in the
actual fix.

No functional change, however use `target->thread.fpu.fpr[0]' rather
than `target->thread.fpu.fpr[i]' for FGR holding type size determination
as there's no `i' variable to refer to anymore, and for the factored out
`i' variable declaration use `unsigned int' rather than `unsigned' as
its type, following the common style.

c228fb3d10 MIPS: Fix FCSR Cause bit handling for correct SIGFPE issue
commit 5a1aca4469 upstream.

Sanitize FCSR Cause bit handling, following a trail of past attempts:

* commit 4249548454 ("MIPS: ptrace: Fix FP context restoration FCSR
regression"),

* commit 443c44032a ("MIPS: Always clear FCSR cause bits after
emulation"),

* commit 64bedffe49 ("MIPS: Clear [MSA]FPE CSR.Cause after
notify_die()"),

* commit b1442d39fa ("MIPS: Prevent user from setting FCSR cause
bits"),

* commit b54d2901517d ("Properly handle branch delay slots in connection
with signals.").

Specifically do not mask these bits out in ptrace(2) processing and send
a SIGFPE signal instead whenever a matching pair of an FCSR Cause and
Enable bit is seen as execution of an affected context is about to
resume. Only then clear Cause bits, and even then do not clear any bits
that are set but masked with the respective Enable bits. Adjust Cause
bit clearing throughout code likewise, except within the FPU emulator
proper where they are set according to IEEE 754 exceptions raised as the
operation emulated executed. Do so so that any IEEE 754 exceptions
subject to their default handling are recorded like with operations
executed by FPU hardware.

760aa865a0 MIPS: ptrace: Prevent writes to read-only FCSR bits
commit abf378be49 upstream.

Correct the cases missed with commit 9b26616c8d ("MIPS: Respect the
ISA level in FCSR handling") and prevent writes to read-only FCSR bits
there.

This in particular applies to FP context initialisation where any IEEE
754-2008 bits preset by `mips_set_personality_nan' are cleared before
the relevant ptrace(2) call takes effect and the PTRACE_POKEUSR request
addressing FPC_CSR where no masking of read-only FCSR bits is done.

Remove the FCSR clearing from FP context initialisation then and unify
PTRACE_POKEUSR/FPC_CSR and PTRACE_SETFPREGS handling, by factoring out
code from `ptrace_setfpregs' and calling it from both places.

This mostly matters to soft float configurations where the emulator can
be switched this way to a mode which should not be accessible and cannot
be set with the CTC1 instruction. With hard float configurations any
effect is transient anyway as read-only bits will retain their values at
the time the FP context is restored.

the ISA level in FCSR handling] and f6843626 [MIPS: math-emu: Set FIR
feature flags for full emulation].

Use `boot_cpu_data' to obtain the data from, following the approach that
`cpu_has_*' macros take and avoiding the call to `smp_processor_id' made
in the reference to `current_cpu_data'. The contents of FSCR have to be
consistent across processors in an SMP system, the settings there must
not change as a thread is migrated across processors. And the contents
of FIR are guaranteed to be consistent in FPU emulation, by definition.

c9d34c4e3e MIPS: Respect the ISA level in FCSR handling
commit 9b26616c8d upstream.

Define the central place the default FCSR value is set from, initialised
in `cpu_probe'. Determine the FCSR mask applied to values written to
the register with CTC1 in the full emulation mode and via ptrace(2),
according to the ISA level of processor hardware or the writability of
bits 31:18 if actual FPU hardware is used.

Software may rely on FCSR bits whose functions our emulator does not
implement, so it should not allow them to be set or software may get
confused. For ptrace(2) it's just sanity.

8605aa2fea MIPS: Set `si_code' for SIGFPE signals sent from emulation too
commit 304acb717e upstream.

Rework `process_fpemu_return' and move IEEE 754 exception interpretation
there, from `do_fpe'. Record the cause bits set in FCSR before they are
cleared and pass them through to `process_fpemu_return' so as to set

For simplicity `mipsr2_decoder' assumes `*fcr31' has been preinitialised

6c90009897 MIPS: prevent FP context set via ptrace being discarded
commit ac9ad83bc3 upstream.

If a ptracee has not used the FPU and the ptracer sets its FP context
using PTRACE_POKEUSR, PTRACE_SETFPREGS or PTRACE_SETREGSET then that
context will be discarded upon either the ptracee using the FPU or a

d6e7dd39a7 MIPS: Clear [MSA]FPE CSR.Cause after notify_die()
commit 64bedffe49 upstream.

When handling floating point exceptions (FPEs) and MSA FPEs the Cause
bits of the appropriate control and status register (FCSR for FPEs and
MSACSR for MSA FPEs) are read and cleared before enabling interrupts,
presumably so that it doesn't have to go through the pain of restoring
those bits if the process is pre-empted, since writing those bits would
cause another immediate exception while still in the kernel.

The bits aren't normally ever restored again, since userland never
expects to see them set.

However for virtualisation it is necessary for the kernel to be able to
restore these Cause bits, as the guest may have been interrupted in an
FP exception handler but before it could read the Cause bits. This can
be done by registering a die notifier, to get notified of the exception
when such a value is restored, and if the PC was at the instruction
which is used to restore the guest state, the handler can step over it
and continue execution. The Cause bits can then remain set without
causing further exceptions.

For this to work safely a few changes are made:
- __build_clear_fpe and __build_clear_msa_fpe no longer clear the Cause
  bits, and now return from exception level with interrupts disabled
  instead of enabled.
- do_fpe() now clears the Cause bits and enables interrupts after
  notify_die() is called, so that the notifier can chose to return from
  exception without this happening.
- do_msa_fpe() acts similarly, but now actually makes use of the second
  argument (msacsr) and calls notify_die() with the new DIE_MSAFP,
  allowing die notifiers to be informed of MSA FPEs too.

49b31d891e MIPS: Fix an n32 core file generation regset support regression
commit 547da67317 upstream.

Fix a commit 7aeb753b53 ("MIPS: Implement task_user_regset_view.")
regression, then activated by commit 6a9c001b7e ("MIPS: Switch ELF
core dumper to use regsets.)", that caused n32 processes to dump o32
core files by failing to set the EF_MIPS_ABI2 flag in the ELF core file
header's `e_flags' member:

$ file tls-core
tls-core: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, MIPS, N32 MIPS64 rel2 version 1 (SYSV), [...]
$ ./tls-core
Aborted (core dumped)
$ file core
core: ELF 32-bit MSB core file MIPS, MIPS-I version 1 (SYSV), SVR4-style
$

Previously the flag was set as the result of a:

statement placed in arch/mips/kernel/binfmt_elfn32.c, however in the
regset case, i.e. when CORE_DUMP_USE_REGSET is set, ELF_CORE_EFLAGS is
no longer used by `fill_note_info' in fs/binfmt_elf.c, and instead the
`->e_flags' member of the regset view chosen is. We have the views
defined in arch/mips/kernel/ptrace.c, however only an o32 and an n64
one, and the latter is used for n32 as well. Consequently an o32 core
file is incorrectly dumped from n32 processes (the ELF32 vs ELF64 class
is chosen elsewhere, and the 32-bit one is correctly selected for n32).

Correct the issue then by defining an n32 regset view and using it as
appropriate. Issue discovered in GDB testing.

aa3fbddbb8 ptrace: Don't allow accessing an undumpable mm
commit 84d77d3f06 upstream.

It is the reasonable expectation that if an executable file is not
readable there will be no way for a user without special privileges to
read the file. This is enforced in ptrace_attach but if ptrace
is already attached before exec there is no enforcement for read-only
executables.

As the only way to read such an mm is through access_process_vm
spin a variant called ptrace_access_vm that will fail if the
target process is not being ptraced by the current process, or
the current process did not have sufficient privileges when ptracing
began to read the target processes mm.

In the ptrace implementations replace access_process_vm by
ptrace_access_vm. There remain several ptrace sites that still use
access_process_vm as they are reading the target executables
instructions (for kernel consumption) or register stacks. As such it
does not appear necessary to add a permission check to those calls.

This bug has always existed in Linux.

17fd33a020 MIPS: Stacktrace: Fix microMIPS stack unwinding on big endian systems
commit 41885b0212 upstream.

The stack unwinding code uses the mips_instuction union to decode the
instructions it finds. That union uses the __BITFIELD_FIELD macro to
reorder depending on endianness. The stack unwinding code always places
16bit instructions in halfword 1 of the union. This makes the union
accesses correct for little endian systems. Similarly, 32bit
instructions are reordered such that they are correct for little endian
systems. This handling leaves unwinding the stack on big endian systems
broken, as the mips_instruction union will then look for the fields in
the wrong halfword.

To fix this, use a logical shift to place the 16bit instruction into the
correct position in the word field of the union. Use the same shifting
to order the 2 halfwords of 32bit instuctions. Then replace accesses to
the halfword with accesses to the shifted word.
In the case of the ADDIUS5 instruction, switch to using the
mm16_r5_format union member to avoid the need for a 16bit shift.

da5a7a6da5 MIPS: microMIPS: Fix decoding of swsp16 instruction

When the immediate encoded in the instruction is accessed, it is sign

bbe0e83799 MIPS: microMIPS: Fix decoding of addiusp instruction
commit a0ae2b0833 upstream.

Commit 34c2f668d0 ("MIPS: microMIPS: Add unaligned access support.")
added handling of microMIPS instructions to manipulate the stack
pointer. Unfortunately the decoding of the addiusp instruction was
incorrect, and performed a left shift by 2 bits to the raw immediate,
rather than decoding the immediate and then performing the shift, as
documented in the ISA.

This led to incomplete stack traces, due to incorrect frame sizes being
calculated. For example the instruction:
801faee0 <do_sys_poll>:
801faee0:       4e25            addiu   sp,sp,-952

As decoded by objdump, would be interpreted by the existing code as
having manipulated the stack pointer by +1096.

Fix this by changing the order of decoding the immediate and applying
the left shift. Also change to accessing the instuction through the
union to avoid the endianness problem of accesing halfword[0], which
will fail on big endian systems.

Cope with the special behaviour of immediates 0x0, 0x1, 0x1fe and 0x1ff
by XORing with 0x100 again if mod(immediate) < 4. This logic was tested
with the following test code:

int main(int argc, char **argv)
{
	unsigned int enc;
	int imm;

	for (enc = 0; enc < 512; ++enc) {
		int tmp = enc << 2;
		imm = -(signed short)(tmp | ((tmp & 0x100) ? 0xfe00 : 0));
		unsigned short tmp = enc;
		tmp = (tmp ^ 0x100) - 0x100;
		if ((unsigned short)(tmp + 2) < 4)
			tmp ^= 0x100;
		imm = -(signed short)(tmp << 2);
		printf("%#x\t%d\t->\t(%#x\t%d)\t%#x\t%d\n",
		       enc, enc,
		       (short)tmp, (short)tmp,
		       imm, imm);
	}
	return EXIT_SUCCESS;
}

Which generates the table:

input encoding	->	tmp (matching manual)	frame size
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
0	0	->	(0x100		256)	0xfffffc00	-1024
0x1	1	->	(0x101		257)	0xfffffbfc	-1028

f501a7822c MIPS: Handle non word sized instructions when examining frame
commit 11887ed172 upstream.

Commit 34c2f668d0 ("MIPS: microMIPS: Add unaligned access support.")
added fairly broken support for handling 16bit microMIPS instructions in
get_frame_info(). It adjusts the instruction pointer by 16bits in the
case of a 16bit sp move instruction, but not any other 16bit
instruction.

Commit b6c7a324df ("MIPS: Fix get_frame_info() handling of microMIPS
function size") goes some way to fixing get_frame_info() to iterate over
microMIPS instuctions, but the instruction pointer is still manipulated
using a postincrement, and is of union mips_instruction type. Since the
union is sized to the largest member (a word), but microMIPS
instructions are a mix of halfword and word sizes, the function does not
always iterate correctly, ending up misaligned with the instruction
stream and interpreting it incorrectly.

Since the instruction modifying the stack pointer is usually the first
in the function, that one is usually handled correctly. But the
instruction which saves the return address to the sp is some variable
number of instructions into the frame and is frequently missed due to
not being on a word boundary, leading to incomplete walking of the
stack.

Fix this by incrementing the instruction pointer based on the size of
the previously decoded instruction (& remove the hack introduced by
commit 34c2f668d0 ("MIPS: microMIPS: Add unaligned access support.")
which adjusts the instruction pointer in the case of a 16bit sp move
instruction, but not any other).

call, which MIPS passes the value of the $v0 (result) register, however
MIPS returns positive error codes in $v0 with $a3 specifying that $v0
contains an error code. As a result erroring system calls are traced
returning positive error numbers that can't always be distinguished from
success.

Use regs_return_value() to negate the error code if $a3 is set.

b378d62f90 MIPS: Send SIGILL for BPOSGE32 in `__compute_return_epc_for_insn'
commit 7b82c1058a upstream.

Fix commit e50c0a8fa6 ("Support the MIPS32 / MIPS64 DSP ASE.") and
send SIGILL rather than SIGBUS whenever an unimplemented BPOSGE32 DSP
ASE instruction has been encountered in `__compute_return_epc_for_insn'
as our Reserved Instruction exception handler would in response to an
attempt to actually execute the instruction. Sending SIGBUS only makes
sense for the unaligned PC case, since moved to `__compute_return_epc'.
Adjust function documentation accordingly, correct formatting and use
`pr_info' rather than `printk' as the other exit path already does.

EVA linked loads (LLE) and conditional stores (SCE) should be used on

d4a279c79d MIPS: Save static registers before sysmips
commit 49955d84cd upstream.

The MIPS sysmips system call handler may return directly from the
MIPS_ATOMIC_SET case (mips_atomic_set()) to syscall_exit. This path
restores the static (callee saved) registers, however they won't have
been saved on entry to the system call.

Use the save_static_function() macro to create a __sys_sysmips wrapper
function which saves the static registers before calling sys_sysmips, so
that the correct static register state is restored by syscall_exit.

b68d691660 MIPS: Fix mips_atomic_set() retry condition

The inline asm retry check in the MIPS_ATOMIC_SET operation of the

Rewrite sysmips(MIPS_ATOMIC_SET, ...) in C with inline assembler")
merged in v2.6.32, resulting in the non R10000_LLSC_WAR case retrying

was probably just written multiple times instead of the old value.

123a250fd5 MIPS: Bail on unsupported module relocs
commit 04211a5746 upstream.

When an unsupported reloc is encountered in a module, we currently
blindly branch to whatever would be at its entry in the reloc handler
function pointer arrays. This may be NULL, or if the unsupported reloc
has a type greater than that of the supported reloc with the highest
type then we'll dereference some value after the function pointer array
& branch to that. The result is at best a kernel oops.

Fix this by checking that the reloc type has an entry in the function
pointer array (ie. is less than the number of items in the array) and
that the handler is non-NULL, returning an error code to fail the module
load if no handler is found.

86c2e14925 MIPS: Avoid accidental raw backtrace
commit 8542363633 upstream.

Since commit 81a76d7119 ("MIPS: Avoid using unwind_stack() with
usermode") show_backtrace() invokes the raw backtracer when
cp0_status & ST0_KSU indicates user mode to fix issues on EVA kernels
where user and kernel address spaces overlap.

However this is used by show_stack() which creates its own pt_regs on
the stack and leaves cp0_status uninitialised in most of the code paths.
This results in the non deterministic use of the raw back tracer
depending on the previous stack content.

show_stack() deals exclusively with kernel mode stacks anyway, so
explicitly initialise regs.cp0_status to KSU_KERNEL (i.e. 0) to ensure
we get a useful backtrace.

ef1778b8d1 MIPS: Fix IRQ tracing & lockdep when rescheduling
commit d8550860d9 upstream.

When the scheduler sets TIF_NEED_RESCHED & we call into the scheduler
from arch/mips/kernel/entry.S we disable interrupts. This is true
regardless of whether we reach work_resched from syscall_exit_work,
resume_userspace or by looping after calling schedule(). Although we
disable interrupts in these paths we don't call trace_hardirqs_off()
before calling into C code which may acquire locks, and we therefore
leave lockdep with an inconsistent view of whether interrupts are
disabled or not when CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING & CONFIG_DEBUG_LOCKDEP are
both enabled.

Without tracing this interrupt state lockdep will print warnings such
as the following once a task returns from a syscall via
syscall_exit_partial with TIF_NEED_RESCHED set:

Fix this by using the TRACE_IRQS_OFF macro to call trace_hardirqs_off()
when CONFIG_TRACE_IRQFLAGS is enabled. This is done before invoking
schedule() following the work_resched label because:

 1) Interrupts are disabled regardless of the path we take to reach
    work_resched() & schedule().

 2) Performing the tracing here avoids the need to do it in paths which
    disable interrupts but don't call out to C code before hitting a
    path which uses the RESTORE_SOME macro that will call
    trace_hardirqs_on() or trace_hardirqs_off() as appropriate.

We call trace_hardirqs_on() using the TRACE_IRQS_ON macro before calling
syscall_trace_leave() for similar reasons, ensuring that lockdep has a
consistent view of state after we re-enable interrupts.

0c5bda34f5 MIPS: pm-cps: Drop manual cache-line alignment of ready_count
commit 161c51ccb7 upstream.

We allocate memory for a ready_count variable per-CPU, which is accessed
via a cached non-coherent TLB mapping to perform synchronisation between
threads within the core using LL/SC instructions. In order to ensure
that the variable is contained within its own data cache line we
allocate 2 lines worth of memory & align the resulting pointer to a line
boundary. This is however unnecessary, since kmalloc is guaranteed to
return memory which is at least cache-line aligned (see
ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN). Stop the redundant manual alignment.

Besides cleaning up the code & avoiding needless work, this has the side
effect of avoiding an arithmetic error found by Bryan on 64 bit systems
due to the 32 bit size of the former dlinesz. This led the ready_count
variable to have its upper 32b cleared erroneously for MIPS64 kernels,
causing problems when ready_count was later used on MIPS64 via cpuidle.

e4fd919486 MIPS: KGDB: Use kernel context for sleeping threads
commit 162b270c66 upstream.

KGDB is a kernel debug stub and it can't be used to debug userland as it
can only safely access kernel memory.

On MIPS however KGDB has always got the register state of sleeping
processes from the userland register context at the beginning of the
kernel stack. This is meaningless for kernel threads (which never enter
userland), and for user threads it prevents the user seeing what it is
doing while in the kernel:

(gdb) info threads
  Id   Target Id         Frame
  ...
  3    Thread 2 (kthreadd) 0x0000000000000000 in ?? ()

Get the register state instead from the (partial) kernel register

Call clobbered registers which aren't saved and exception registers
(BadVAddr & Cause) which can't be easily determined without stack
unwinding are reported as 0. The PC is taken from the return address,
such that the state presented matches that found immediately after
returning from resume().
