59bfd25cff rtc: pm8xxx: fix unintended sign extension
commit e422808860 upstream.

Shifting a u8 by 24 will cause the value to be promoted to an integer. If
the top bit of the u8 is set then the following conversion to an unsigned
long will sign extend the value causing the upper 32 bits to be set in
the result.

Fix this by casting the u8 value to an unsigned long before the shift.

ab77f8541e iio/hid-sensors: Fix IIO_CHAN_INFO_RAW returning wrong values for signed numbers
commit 0145b50566 upstream.

Before this commit sensor_hub_input_attr_get_raw_value() failed to take
the signedness of 16 and 8 bit values into account, returning e.g.
65436 instead of -100 for the z-axis reading of an accelerometer.

This commit adds a new is_signed parameter to the function and makes all
callers pass the appropriate value for this.

While at it, this commit also fixes up some neighboring lines where
statements were needlessly split over 2 lines to improve readability.

5c3124fdd7 rtc: snvs: Fix usage of snvs_rtc_enable
commit 1485991c02 upstream.

commit 179a502f8c ("rtc: snvs: add Freescale rtc-snvs driver") introduces
the SNVS RTC driver with a function snvs_rtc_enable().

snvs_rtc_enable() can return an error on the enable path however this
driver does not currently trap that failure on the probe() path and
consequently if enabling the RTC fails we encounter a later error spinning
forever in rtc_write_sync_lp().

This patch fixes by parsing the result of rtc_write_sync_lp() and
propagating both in the probe and elsewhere. If the RTC doesn't start we
don't proceed loading the driver and don't get into this loop mess later

f853f92a6d rtc: tx4939: avoid unintended sign extension on a 24 bit shift
commit 347876ad47 upstream.

The shifting of buf[5] by 24 bits to the left will be promoted to
a 32 bit signed int and then sign-extended to an unsigned long. If
the top bit of buf[5] is set then all then all the upper bits sec
end up as also being set because of the sign-extension. Fix this by
casting buf[5] to an unsigned long before the shift.

39fae4d713 rtc: interface: ignore expired timers when enqueuing new timers
commit 2b2f5ff00f upstream.

This patch fixes a RTC wakealarm issue, namely, the event fires during
hibernate and is not cleared from the list, causing hwclock to block.

The current enqueuing does not trigger an alarm if any expired timers
already exist on the timerqueue. This can occur when a RTC wake alarm
is used to wake a machine out of hibernate and the resumed state has
old expired timers that have not been removed from the timer queue.
This fix skips over any expired timers and triggers an alarm if there
are no pending timers on the timerqueue. Note that the skipped expired
timer will get reaped later on, so there is no need to clean it up
immediately.

The issue can be reproduced by putting a machine into hibernate and
waking it with the RTC wakealarm. Running the example RTC test program
from tools/testing/selftests/timers/rtctest.c after the hibernate will
block indefinitely. With the fix, it no longer blocks after the
hibernate resume.

a05cd914b6 rtc: ds1307: Fix relying on reset value for weekday
commit e29385fab0 upstream.

The reset value of weekday is 0x1. This is wrong since
the reset values of the day/month/year make up to Jan 1 2001.
When computed weekday comes out to be Monday. On a scale
of 1-7(Sunday - Saturday) it should be 0x2. So we should not
be relying on the reset value.

Hence compute the wday using the current date/month/year values.
Check if reset wday is any different from the computed wday,
If different then set the wday which we computed using
date/month/year values.

23d8e4e85e rtc: ds1307: Fix alarm programming for mcp794xx
commit 62c8c20af9 upstream.

mcp794xx alarm registers must be written in BCD format. However, the
alarm programming logic neglected this by adding one to the value
after bin2bcd conversion has been already done, writing bad values
to month register in case the alarm being set is in October. In this
case, the alarm month value becomes 0x0a instead of the expected 0x10.

Fix by moving the +1 addition within the bin2bcd call also.

797dcac35d rtc: s5m: fix to update ctrl register
commit ff02c0444b upstream.

According to datasheet, the S2MPS13X and S2MPS14X should update write
buffer via setting WUDR bit to high after ctrl register is written.

If not, ALARM interrupt of rtc-s5m doesn't happen first time when i use
tools/testing/selftests/timers/rtctest.c test program and hour format is
used to 12 hour mode in Odroid-XU3 board.

One more issue is the RTC doesn't keep time on Odroid-XU3 board when i
turn on board after power off even if RTC battery is connected. It can
be solved as setting WUDR & RUDR bits to high at the same time after
RTC_CTRL register is written. It's same with condition of only writing
ALARM registers, so this is for only S2MPS14 and we should set WUDR &
A_UDR bits to high on S2MPS13.

I can't find any reasonable description about this like fix from
datasheet, but can find similar codes from rtc driver source of
hardkernel kernel and vendor kernel.

a0304e4731 drivers/rtc/rtc-isl12057.c: fix masking of register values
commit 5945b28803 upstream.

When Intersil ISL12057 support was added by commit 70e123373c ("rtc: Add
support for Intersil ISL12057 I2C RTC chip"), two masks for time registers
values imported from the device were either wrong or omitted, leading to
additional bits from those registers to impact read values:

 - mask for hour register value when reading it in AM/PM mode. As
AM/PM mode is not the usual mode used by the driver, this error
would only have an impact on an externally configured RTC hour
   later read by the driver.
 - mask for month value. The lack of masking would provide an
erroneous value if century bit is set.

This patch fixes those two masks.

0c5deb1ea9 rtc: s5m: add support for S2MPS14 RTC
Add support for S2MPS14 to the rtc-s5m driver. Differences in S2MPS14
(in comparison to S5M8767):

 - Layout of registers
 - Lack of century support for time and alarms (7 registers used for
   storing time/alarm)
 - Two buffer control registers: WUDR and RUDR
 - No register for enabling writing time
 - RTC interrupts are reported in main PMIC I2C device

fe787a5b22 rtc: s5m: remove undocumented time init on first boot
Remove the code for initializing time if this is first boot.

The code for detecting first boot uses undocumented field RTC_TCON in
RTC_UDR_CON register. According to S5M8767's datasheet this field is
reserved. On S2MPS14 it is not documented at all.

On device first boot the registers will be initialized with reset value
(2000-01-01 00:00:00).

The code might work on S5M8763 but still this does not look like a task
for RTC driver.

ab7f580b8e drivers/rtc/rtc-omap.c: enable RTC_IRQWAKEEN bits when Alarm is set
When RTC CLKTRCTRL bit is configured in HW_AUTO, module goes to sleep in
IDLE state.

The Alarm SWakeup event can be used to wakeup the RTC when it is in IDLE
state. In order to do so, the alarm needs to be set and enabled before
RTC enters the IDLE state. Also the wakeup generation for alarm/timer
event needs to be set (bits [1:0] in RTC_IRQWAKEEN register).

Currently RTC_IRQWAKEEN bits are set only in suspend/resume paths. With
this ALARM interrupts are not generated when it enters IDLE state. So
programming the RTC_IRQWAKEEN bits when ever ALARM is set.

2fe121e1f5 rtc: rtc-at91rm9200: fix infinite wait for ACKUPD irq
The rtc user must wait at least 1 sec between each time/calandar update
(see atmel's datasheet chapter "Updating Time/Calendar").

Use the 1Hz interrupt to update the at91_rtc_upd_rdy flag and wait for
the at91_rtc_wait_upd_rdy event if the rtc is not ready.

This patch fixes a deadlock in an uninterruptible wait when the RTC is
updated more than once every second. AFAICT the bug is here from the
beginning, but I think we should at least backport this fix to 3.10 and
the following longterm and stable releases.

cd914bba03 drivers/rtc/rtc-omap.c: add support for enabling 32khz clock
Newer versions of OMAP RTC IP such as those found in AM335x and DRA7x
need an explicit enable of 32khz functional clock which ticks the RTC.

AM335x support was working so far because of settings done in U-Boot.
However, the DRA7x U-Boot does no such enable of 32khz clock and this
patch is need to get the RTC to work on DRA7x at least. In general, it
is better to not depend on settings done in U-Boot.
