75d0967d61 tpm: Fix off-by-one when reading binary_bios_measurements
commit 64494d39ff upstream.

It is unable to read the entry when it is the only one in
binary_bios_measurements:

00000000 00 00 00 00 08 00 00 00 c4 2f ed ad 26 82 00 cb
00000010 1d 15 f9 78 41 c3 44 e7 9d ae 33 20 00 00 00 00
00000020

This is obviously a firmware problem on my linux machine:

	Manufacturer: Inspur
	Product Name: SA5212M4
	Version: 01

However, binary_bios_measurements should return it any way,
rather than nothing, after all its content is completely
valid.

a8035bc142 hpet: Fix missing '=' character in the __setup() code of hpet_mmap_enable
commit 24d48a61f2 upstream.

Commit '3d035f5806 ("drivers/char/hpet.c: allow user controlled mmap for
user processes")' introduced a new kernel command line parameter hpet_mmap,
that is required to expose the memory map of the HPET registers to
user-space. Unfortunately the kernel command line parameter 'hpet_mmap' is
broken and never takes effect due to missing '=' character in the __setup()
code of hpet_mmap_enable.

Before this patch:

dmesg output with the kernel command line parameter hpet_mmap=1

[ 0.204152] HPET mmap disabled

dmesg output with the kernel command line parameter hpet_mmap=0

[ 0.204192] HPET mmap disabled

After this patch:

dmesg output with the kernel command line parameter hpet_mmap=1

[ 0.203945] HPET mmap enabled

dmesg output with the kernel command line parameter hpet_mmap=0

[ 0.204652] HPET mmap disabled

e0d2ad5eae tty: mark Siemens R3964 line discipline as BROKEN
commit c7084edc3f upstream.

The n_r3964 line discipline driver was written in a different time, when
SMP machines were rare, and users were trusted to do the right thing.
Since then, the world has moved on but not this code, it has stayed
rooted in the past with its lovely hand-crafted list structures and
loads of "interesting" race conditions all over the place.

After attempting to clean up most of the issues, I just gave up and am
now marking the driver as BROKEN so that hopefully someone who has this
hardware will show up out of the woodwork (I know you are out there!)
and will help with debugging a raft of changes that I had laying around
for the code, but was too afraid to commit as odds are they would break
things.

Many thanks to Jann and Linus for pointing out the initial problems in
this codebase, as well as many reviews of my attempts to fix the issues.
It was a case of whack-a-mole, and as you can see, the mole won.

55e74f4471 ipmi: Move BT capabilities detection to the detect call
commit c86ba91be7 upstream.

The capabilities detection was being done as part of the normal
state machine, but it was possible for it to be running while
the upper layers of the IPMI driver were initializing the

Move the capabilities detection to the the detect function,
so it's done before anything else runs on the device. This also
simplifies the state machine and removes some code, as a bonus.

b3bf19a8b9 random: mix rdrand with entropy sent in from userspace
commit 81e69df38e upstream.

Fedora has integrated the jitter entropy daemon to work around slow
boot problems, especially on VM's that don't support virtio-rng:

    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1572944

It's understandable why they did this, but the Jitter entropy daemon
works fundamentally on the principle: "the CPU microarchitecture is
**so** complicated and we can't figure it out, so it *must* be
random". Yes, it uses statistical tests to "prove" it is secure, but
AES_ENCRYPT(NSA_KEY, COUNTER++) will also pass statistical tests with
flying colors.

So if RDRAND is available, mix it into entropy submitted from
userspace. It can't hurt, and if you believe the NSA has backdoored
RDRAND, then they probably have enough details about the Intel
microarchitecture that they can reverse engineer how the Jitter
entropy daemon affects the microarchitecture, and attack its output
stream. And if RDRAND is in fact an honest DRNG, it will immeasurably
improve on what the Jitter entropy daemon might produce.

This also provides some protection against someone who is able to read
or set the entropy seed file.

0bcdb35ecf tpm: fix race condition in tpm_common_write()
commit 3ab2011ea3 upstream.

There is a race condition in tpm_common_write function allowing
two threads on the same /dev/tpm<N>, or two different applications
on the same /dev/tpmrm<N> to overwrite each other commands/responses.
Fixed this by taking the priv->buffer_mutex early in the function.

Also converted the priv->data_pending from atomic to a regular size_t
type. There is no need for it to be atomic since it is only touched
under the protection of the priv->buffer_mutex.

f92b16b815 virtio_console: free buffers after reset

Console driver is out of spec. The spec says:
A driver MUST NOT decrement the available idx on a live

and it does exactly that by trying to detach unused buffers
without doing a device reset first.

Defer detaching the buffers until device unplug.

Of course this means we might get an interrupt for

60ade6ae6e tpm-dev-common: Reject too short writes
commit ee70bc1e7b upstream.

tpm_transmit() does not offer an explicit interface to indicate the number
of valid bytes in the communication buffer. Instead, it relies on the
commandSize field in the TPM header that is encoded within the buffer.
Therefore, ensure that a) enough data has been written to the buffer, so
that the commandSize field is present and b) the commandSize field does not
announce more data than has been written to the buffer.

a6f8917af6 drivers: char: mem: Fix wraparound check to allow mappings up to the end

A recent fix to /dev/mem prevents mappings from wrapping around the end

also prevents a mapping reaching just up to the end of physical address

9dae472646 drivers: char: mem: Check for address space wraparound with mmap()
commit b299cde245 upstream.

/dev/mem currently allows mmap() mappings that wrap around the end of
the physical address space, which should probably be illegal. It
circumvents the existing STRICT_DEVMEM permission check because the loop
immediately terminates (as the start address is already higher than the
end address). On the x86_64 architecture it will then cause a panic
(from the BUG(start >= end) in arch/x86/mm/pat.c:reserve_memtype()).

This changes the x86 exception for the low 1MB by reading back zeros for
System RAM areas instead of blindly allowing them. More work is needed to
extend this to mmap, but currently mmap doesn't go through usercopy, so
hardened usercopy won't Oops the kernel.

56713fd74e random: add interrupt callback to VMBus IRQ handler
commit 4b44f2d18a upstream.

The Hyper-V Linux Integration Services use the VMBus implementation for

This implies that the interrupt entropy collector is not triggered.

This patch adds the interrupt entropy collection callback into the VMBus

f3ce5ab490 hwmon: (dell-smm) Restrict fan control and serial number to CAP_SYS_ADMIN by default
commit 7613663cc1 upstream.

For security reasons ordinary user must not be able to control fan speed
via /proc/i8k by default. Some malicious software running under "nobody"
user could be able to turn fan off and cause HW problems. So this patch
changes default value of "restricted" parameter to 1.

Also restrict reading of DMI_PRODUCT_SERIAL from /proc/i8k via "restricted"
parameter. It is because non root user cannot read DMI_PRODUCT_SERIAL from
sysfs file /sys/class/dmi/id/product_serial.

Old non secure behaviour of file /proc/i8k can be achieved by loading this
module with "restricted" parameter set to 0.

Note that this patch has effects only for kernels compiled with CONFIG_I8K
and only for file /proc/i8k. Hwmon interface provided by this driver was
not changed and root access for setting fan speed was needed also before.

690f544a64 tpm/ibmvtpm: Additional LE support for tpm_ibmvtpm_send
commit 62dfd912ab upstream.

Problem: When IMA and VTPM are both enabled in kernel config,
kernel hangs during bootup on LE OS.

Why?: IMA calls tpm_pcr_read() which results in tpm_ibmvtpm_send
and tpm_ibmtpm_recv getting called. A trace showed that
tpm_ibmtpm_recv was hanging.

Resolution: tpm_ibmtpm_recv was hanging because tpm_ibmvtpm_send
was sending CRQ message that probably did not make much sense
to phype because of Endianness. The fix below sends correctly
converted CRQ for LE. This was not caught before because it
seems IMA is not enabled by default in kernel config and
IMA exercises this particular code path in vtpm.

Tested with IMA and VTPM enabled in kernel config and VTPM
enabled on both a BE OS and a LE OS ppc64 lpar. This exercised
CRQ and TPM command code paths in vtpm.

55412678cf tpm: Fix NULL return in tpm_ibmvtpm_get_desired_dma
commit 84eb186bc3 upstream.

There was an oops in tpm_ibmvtpm_get_desired_dma, which caused
kernel panic during boot when vTPM is enabled in Power partition
configured in AMS mode.

vio_bus_probe calls vio_cmo_bus_probe which calls
tpm_ibmvtpm_get_desired_dma to get the size needed for DMA allocation.
The problem is, vio_cmo_bus_probe is called before calling probe, which
for vtpm is tpm_ibmvtpm_probe and it's this function that initializes
and sets up vtpm's CRQ and gets required data values. Therefore,
since this has not yet been done, NULL is returned in attempt to get
the size for DMA allocation.
