0718a466c6 ath10k: fix peer stats null pointer dereference
[ Upstream commit 2d3b55853b ]

There was a race condition in SMP that an ath10k_peer was created but its
member sta was null. Following are procedures of ath10k_peer creation and
member sta access in peer statistics path.

    1. Peer creation:
        ath10k_peer_create()
            =>ath10k_wmi_peer_create()
                =>ath10k_wait_for_peer_created()
                ...

        # another kernel path, RX from firmware
        ath10k_htt_t2h_msg_handler()
        =>ath10k_peer_map_event()
                =>wake_up()
                # ar->peer_map[id] = peer //add peer to map

        #wake up original path from waiting
                ...
                # peer->sta = sta //sta assignment

    2.  RX path of statistics
        ath10k_htt_t2h_msg_handler()
            =>ath10k_update_per_peer_tx_stats()
                =>ath10k_htt_fetch_peer_stats()
                # peer->sta //sta accessing

Any access of peer->sta after peer was added to peer_map but before sta was
assigned could cause a null pointer issue. And because these two steps are
asynchronous, no proper lock can protect them. So both peer and sta need to
be checked before access.

2ca0f9b6c5 net: ethernet: ave: Set initial wol state to disabled
[ Upstream commit 7200f2e3c9 ]

If wol state of phy hardware is enabled after reset, phy_ethtool_get_wol()
returns that wol.wolopts is true.

However, since net_device.wol_enabled is zero and this doesn't apply wol
state until calling ethtool_set_wol(), so mdio_bus_phy_may_suspend()
returns true, that is, it's in a state where phy can suspend even though
wol state is enabled.

In this inconsistency, phy_suspend() returns -EBUSY, and at last,
suspend sequence fails with the following message:

    dpm_run_callback(): mdio_bus_phy_suspend+0x0/0x58 returns -16
    PM: Device 65000000.ethernet-ffffffff:01 failed to suspend: error -16
    PM: Some devices failed to suspend, or early wake event detected

In order to fix the above issue, this patch forces to set initial wol state
to disabled as default.

229c67c796 e1000e: allow non-monotonic SYSTIM readings
[ Upstream commit e1f65b0d70 ]

It seems with some NICs supported by the e1000e driver a SYSTIM reading
may occasionally be few microseconds before the previous reading and if
enabled also pass e1000e_sanitize_systim() without reaching the maximum
number of rereads, even if the function is modified to check three
consecutive readings (i.e. it doesn't look like a double read error).
This causes an underflow in the timecounter and the PHC time jumps hours
ahead.

This was observed on 82574, I217 and I219. The fastest way to reproduce
it is to run a program that continuously calls the PTP_SYS_OFFSET ioctl
on the PHC.

Modify e1000e_phc_gettime() to use timecounter_cyc2time() instead of
timecounter_read() in order to allow non-monotonic SYSTIM readings and
prevent the PHC from jumping.

a35c9543cc ixgbe: allow IPsec Tx offload in VEPA mode
[ Upstream commit 7fa57ca443 ]

When it's possible that the PF might end up trying to send a
packet to one of its own VFs, we have to forbid IPsec offload
because the device drops the packets into a black hole.
See commit 47b6f50077 ("ixgbe: disallow IPsec Tx offload
when in SR-IOV mode") for more info.

This really is only necessary when the device is in the default
VEB mode. If instead the device is running in VEPA mode,
the packets will go through the encryption engine and out the
MAC/PHY as normal, and get "hairpinned" as needed by the switch.

So let's not block IPsec offload when in VEPA mode. To get
there with the ixgbe device, use the handy 'bridge' command:
	bridge link set dev eth1 hwmode vepa

047ecbc9fa b43: Fix error in cordic routine
commit 8ea3819c0b upstream.

The cordic routine for calculating sines and cosines that was added in
commit 6f98e62a9f ("b43: update cordic code to match current specs")
contains an error whereby a quantity declared u32 can in fact go negative.

This problem was detected by Priit Laes who is switching b43 to use the
routine in the library functions of the kernel.

[ 31.096533] Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint

It appears that when trying to determine the length of the string in the
alternate firmware path, we make the mistake of not handling the case
where the firmware path is empty correctly. Since strlen(mp_path) can
return 0, we'll end up accessing mp_path[-1] when the firmware_path
isn't provided through the module arguments.

So, fix this by just setting the end char to '\0' by default, and only
changing it if we have a non-zero length. Additionally, use strnlen()
with BRCMF_FW_ALTPATH_LEN instead of strlen() just to be extra safe.

ea6adaafc9 brcmfmac: fix roamoff=1 modparam
commit 8c892df415 upstream.

When the update_connect_param callback is set, nl80211 expects the flag
WIPHY_FLAG_SUPPORTS_FW_ROAM to be set as well. However, this flag is
only set when modparam roamoff=0, while the callback is set
unconditionally. Since commit 7f9a3e150e this causes a warning in
wiphy_register, which breaks brcmfmac.

Disable the update_connect_param callback when roamoff=0 to fix this.

05267524fc ibmveth: fix DMA unmap error in ibmveth_xmit_start error path
[ Upstream commit 756af9c642 ]

Commit 33a48ab105 ("ibmveth: Fix DMA unmap error") fixed an issue in the
normal code path of ibmveth_xmit_start() that was originally introduced by
Commit 6e8ab30ec6 ("ibmveth: Add scatter-gather support"). This original
fix missed the error path where dma_unmap_page is wrongly called on the
header portion in descs[0] which was mapped with dma_map_single. As a
result a failure to DMA map any of the frags results in a dmesg warning
when CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG is enabled.

After some investigation I figured out that recently added cleanup code
tries to call VLAN filtering de-initialization function which exist only
for newer hardware. Corresponding function pointer is not
set (== 0) for older hardware, namely these chips:

	#define CHIP_NUM_57710			0x164e
	#define CHIP_NUM_57711			0x164f
	#define CHIP_NUM_57711E			0x1650

And I have one of those in my test system:

	Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries NetXtreme II BCM57711E 10-Gigabit PCIe [14e4:1650]

Function bnx2x_init_vlan_mac_fp_objs() from
drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bnx2x/bnx2x_cmn.h decides whether to
initialize relevant pointers in bnx2x_sp_objs.vlan_obj or not.

This regression was introduced after v4.20-rc7, and still exists in v4.20
release.

8742beb50f net: phy: Fix the issue that netif always links up after resuming
Even though the link is down before entering hibernation,
there is an issue that the network interface always links up after resuming
from hibernation.

If the link is still down before enabling the network interface,
and after resuming from hibernation, the phydev->state is forcibly set
to PHY_UP in mdio_bus_phy_restore(), and the link becomes up.

In suspend sequence, only if the PHY is attached, mdio_bus_phy_suspend()
calls phy_stop_machine(), and mdio_bus_phy_resume() calls
phy_start_machine().
In resume sequence, it's enough to do the same as mdio_bus_phy_resume()
because the state has been preserved.

This patch fixes the issue by calling phy_start_machine() in
mdio_bus_phy_restore() in the same way as mdio_bus_phy_resume().

15515aaaa6 lan78xx: Resolve issue with changing MAC address
Current state for the lan78xx driver does not allow for changing the
MAC address of the interface, without either removing the module (if
you compiled it that way) or rebooting the machine. If you attempt to
change the MAC address, ifconfig will show the new address, however,
the system/interface will not respond to any traffic using that
configuration. A few short-term options to work around this are to
unload the module and reload it with the new MAC address, change the
interface to "promisc", or reboot with the correct configuration to
change the MAC.

This patch enables the ability to change the MAC address via fairly normal means...
ifdown <interface>
modify entry in /etc/network/interfaces OR a similar method
ifup <interface>
Then test via any network communication, such as ICMP requests to gateway.

My only test platform for this patch has been a raspberry pi model 3b+.

ce5e098f7a vxlan: changelink: Fix handling of default remotes
Default remotes are stored as FDB entries with an Ethernet address of
00:00:00:00:00:00. When a request is made to change a remote address of
a VXLAN device, vxlan_changelink() first deletes the existing default
remote, and then creates a new FDB entry.

This works well as long as the list of default remotes matches exactly
the configuration of a VXLAN remote address. Thus when the VXLAN device
has a remote of X, there should be exactly one default remote FDB entry
X. If the VXLAN device has no remote address, there should be no such
entry.

Besides using "ip link set", it is possible to manipulate the list of
default remotes by using the "bridge fdb". It is therefore easy to break
the above condition. Under such circumstances, the __vxlan_fdb_delete()
call doesn't delete the FDB entry itself, but just one remote. The
following vxlan_fdb_create() then creates a new FDB entry, leading to a
situation where two entries exist for the address 00:00:00:00:00:00,
each with a different subset of default remotes.

An even more obvious breakage rooted in the same cause can be observed
when a remote address is configured for a VXLAN device that did not have
one before. In that case vxlan_changelink() doesn't remove any remote,
and just creates a new FDB entry for the new address:

$ ip link add name vx up type vxlan id 2000 dstport 4789
$ bridge fdb ap dev vx 00:00:00:00:00:00 dst 192.0.2.20 self permanent
$ bridge fdb ap dev vx 00:00:00:00:00:00 dst 192.0.2.30 self permanent
$ ip link set dev vx type vxlan remote 192.0.2.30
$ bridge fdb sh dev vx | grep 00:00:00:00:00:00
00:00:00:00:00:00 dst 192.0.2.30 self permanent <- new entry, 1 rdst
00:00:00:00:00:00 dst 192.0.2.20 self permanent <- orig. entry, 2 rdsts
00:00:00:00:00:00 dst 192.0.2.30 self permanent

To fix this, instead of calling vxlan_fdb_create() directly, defer to
vxlan_fdb_update(). That has logic to handle the duplicates properly.
Additionally, it also handles notifications, so drop that call from
changelink as well.

6db9246871 vxlan: Fix error path in __vxlan_dev_create()
When a failure occurs in rtnl_configure_link(), the current code
calls unregister_netdevice() to roll back the earlier call to
register_netdevice(), and jumps to errout, which calls
vxlan_fdb_destroy().

However unregister_netdevice() calls transitively ndo_uninit, which is
vxlan_uninit(), and that already takes care of deleting the default FDB
entry by calling vxlan_fdb_delete_default(). Since the entry added
earlier in __vxlan_dev_create() is exactly the default entry, the
cleanup code in the errout block always leads to double free and thus a
panic.

Besides, since vxlan_fdb_delete_default() always destroys the FDB entry
with notification enabled, the deletion of the default entry is notified
even before the addition was notified.

Instead, move the unregister_netdevice() call after the manual destroy,
which solves both problems.

6e0af29806 net: macb: add missing barriers when reading descriptors
When reading buffer descriptors on RX or on TX completion, an
RX_USED/TX_USED bit is checked first to ensure that the descriptors have
been populated, i.e. the ownership has been transferred. However, there
are no memory barriers to ensure that the data protected by the
RX_USED/TX_USED bit is up-to-date with respect to that bit.

Specifically:

- TX timestamp descriptors may be loaded before ctrl is loaded for the
  TX_USED check, which is racy as the descriptors may be updated between
  the loads, causing old timestamp descriptor data to be used.

- RX ctrl may be loaded before addr is loaded for the RX_USED check,
  which is racy as a new frame may be written between the loads, causing
  old ctrl descriptor data to be used.
  This issue exists for both macb_rx() and gem_rx() variants.

Fix the races by adding DMA read memory barriers on those paths and
reordering the reads in macb_rx().

I have not observed any actual problems in practice caused by these
being missing, though.

Tested on a ZynqMP based system.
