35cde75c08 net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: fix -ENOENT when deleting VLANs and MST is unsupported
[ Upstream commit ea08dfc35f ]

Russell King reports that on the ZII dev rev B, deleting a bridge VLAN
from a user port fails with -ENOENT:
https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/Z_lQXNP0s5-IiJzd@shell.armlinux.org.uk/

This comes from mv88e6xxx_port_vlan_leave() -> mv88e6xxx_mst_put(),
which tries to find an MST entry in &chip->msts associated with the SID,
but fails and returns -ENOENT as such.

But we know that this chip does not support MST at all, so that is not
surprising. The question is why does the guard in mv88e6xxx_mst_put()
not exit early:

	if (!sid)
		return 0;

And the answer seems to be simple: the sid comes from vlan.sid which
supposedly was previously populated by mv88e6xxx_vtu_get().
But some chip->info->ops->vtu_getnext() implementations do not populate
vlan.sid, for example see mv88e6185_g1_vtu_getnext(). In that case,
later in mv88e6xxx_port_vlan_leave() we are using a garbage sid which is
just residual stack memory.

Testing for sid == 0 covers all cases of a non-bridge VLAN or a bridge
VLAN mapped to the default MSTI. For some chips, SID 0 is valid and
installed by mv88e6xxx_stu_setup(). A chip which does not support the
STU would implicitly only support mapping all VLANs to the default MSTI,
so although SID 0 is not valid, it would be sufficient, if we were to
zero-initialize the vlan structure, to fix the bug, due to the
coincidence that a test for vlan.sid == 0 already exists and leads to
the same (correct) behavior.

Another option which would be sufficient would be to add a test for
mv88e6xxx_has_stu() inside mv88e6xxx_mst_put(), symmetric to the one
which already exists in mv88e6xxx_mst_get(). But that placement means
the caller will have to dereference vlan.sid, which means it will access
uninitialized memory, which is not nice even if it ignores it later.

So we end up making both modifications, in order to not rely just on the
sid == 0 coincidence, but also to avoid having uninitialized structure
fields which might get temporarily accessed.

b3c70dfe51 net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: avoid unregistering devlink regions which were never registered
[ Upstream commit c84f6ce918 ]

Russell King reports that a system with mv88e6xxx dereferences a NULL
pointer when unbinding this driver:
https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/Z_lRkMlTJ1KQ0kVX@shell.armlinux.org.uk/

The crash seems to be in devlink_region_destroy(), which is not NULL
tolerant but is given a NULL devlink global region pointer.

At least on some chips, some devlink regions are conditionally registered
since the blamed commit, see mv88e6xxx_setup_devlink_regions_global():

		if (cond && !cond(chip))
			continue;

These are MV88E6XXX_REGION_STU and MV88E6XXX_REGION_PVT. If the chip
does not have an STU or PVT, it should crash like this.

To fix the issue, avoid unregistering those regions which are NULL, i.e.
were skipped at mv88e6xxx_setup_devlink_regions_global() time.

fa2d770895 cxgb4: fix memory leak in cxgb4_init_ethtool_filters() error path
[ Upstream commit 00ffb3724c ]

In the for loop used to allocate the loc_array and bmap for each port, a
memory leak is possible when the allocation for loc_array succeeds,
but the allocation for bmap fails. This is because when the control flow
goes to the label free_eth_finfo, only the allocations starting from
(i-1)th iteration are freed.

Fix that by freeing the loc_array in the bmap allocation error path.

0c03e4fbe1 igc: fix PTM cycle trigger logic
[ Upstream commit 8e404ad95d ]

Writing to clear the PTM status 'valid' bit while the PTM cycle is
triggered results in unreliable PTM operation. To fix this, clear the
PTM 'trigger' and status after each PTM transaction.

The issue can be reproduced with the following:

$ sudo phc2sys -R 1000 -O 0 -i tsn0 -m

Note: 1000 Hz (-R 1000) is unrealistically large, but provides a way to
quickly reproduce the issue.

PHC2SYS exits with:

"ioctl PTP_OFFSET_PRECISE: Connection timed out" when the PTM transaction
  fails

This patch also fixes a hang in igc_probe() when loading the igc
driver in the kdump kernel on systems supporting PTM.

The igc driver running in the base kernel enables PTM trigger in
igc_probe(). Therefore the driver is always in PTM trigger mode,
except in brief periods when manually triggering a PTM cycle.

When a crash occurs, the NIC is reset while PTM trigger is enabled.
Due to a hardware problem, the NIC is subsequently in a bad busmaster
state and doesn't handle register reads/writes. When running
igc_probe() in the kdump kernel, the first register access to a NIC
register hangs driver probing and ultimately breaks kdump.

With this patch, igc has PTM trigger disabled most of the time,
and the trigger is only enabled for very brief (10 - 100 us) periods
when manually triggering a PTM cycle. Chances that a crash occurs
during a PTM trigger are not 0, but extremely reduced.

5eaa143ba3 net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: propperly shutdown PPU re-enable timer on destroy
[ Upstream commit a58d882841 ]

The mv88e6xxx has an internal PPU that polls PHY state. If we want to
access the internal PHYs, we need to disable the PPU first. Because
that is a slow operation, a 10ms timer is used to re-enable it,
canceled with every access, so bulk operations effectively only
disable it once and re-enable it some 10ms after the last access.

If a PHY is accessed and then the mv88e6xxx module is removed before
the 10ms are up, the PPU re-enable ends up accessing a dangling pointer.

This especially affects probing during bootup. The MDIO bus and PHY
registration may succeed, but registration with the DSA framework
may fail later on (e.g. because the CPU port depends on another,
very slow device that isn't done probing yet, returning -EPROBE_DEFER).
In this case, probe() fails, but the MDIO subsystem may already have
accessed the MIDO bus or PHYs, arming the timer.

This is fixed as follows:
 - If probe fails after mv88e6xxx_phy_init(), make sure we also call
   mv88e6xxx_phy_destroy() before returning
 - In mv88e6xxx_remove(), make sure we do the teardown in the correct
   order, calling mv88e6xxx_phy_destroy() after unregistering the
   switch device.
 - In mv88e6xxx_phy_destroy(), destroy both the timer and the work item
   that the timer might schedule, synchronously waiting in case one of
   the callbacks already fired and destroying the timer first, before
   waiting for the work item.
 - Access to the PPU is guarded by a mutex, the worker acquires it
   with a mutex_trylock(), not proceeding with the expensive shutdown
   if that fails. We grab the mutex in mv88e6xxx_phy_destroy() to make
   sure the slow PPU shutdown is already done or won't even enter, when
   we wait for the work item.

b3f48a41a0 net: mvpp2: Prevent parser TCAM memory corruption
[ Upstream commit 9684407522 ]

Protect the parser TCAM/SRAM memory, and the cached (shadow) SRAM
information, from concurrent modifications.

Both the TCAM and SRAM tables are indirectly accessed by configuring
an index register that selects the row to read or write to. This means
that operations must be atomic in order to, e.g., avoid spreading
writes across multiple rows. Since the shadow SRAM array is used to
find free rows in the hardware table, it must also be protected in
order to avoid TOCTOU errors where multiple cores allocate the same
row.

This issue was detected in a situation where `mvpp2_set_rx_mode()` ran
concurrently on two CPUs. In this particular case the
MVPP2_PE_MAC_UC_PROMISCUOUS entry was corrupted, causing the
classifier unit to drop all incoming unicast - indicated by the

c0a4cbdadc wifi: iwlwifi: fw: allocate chained SG tables for dump
[ Upstream commit 7774e39200 ]

The firmware dumps can be pretty big, and since we use single
pages for each SG table entry, even the table itself may end
up being an order-5 allocation. Build chained tables so that
we need not allocate a higher-order table here.

This could be improved and cleaned up, e.g. by using the SG
pool code or simply kvmalloc(), but all of that would require
also updating the devcoredump first since that frees it all,
so we need to be more careful. SG pool might also run against
the CONFIG_ARCH_NO_SG_CHAIN limitation, which is irrelevant
here.

Also use _devcd_free_sgtable() for the error paths now, much
simpler especially since it's in two places now.

[ Upstream commit fab0583568 ]

When hw-gro is enabled, the maximum number of header entries that are
needed per wqe (hd_per_wqe) is calculated based on the size of the
reservations among other parameters.

Miscalculation of the size of reservations leads to incorrect
calculation of hd_per_wqe as 0, particularly in the case of large page
size like in aarch64, this prevents the SHAMPO header from being
correctly initialized in the device, ultimately causing the following
cqe err that indicates a violation of PD.

717587fbc8 rndis_host: Flag RNDIS modems as WWAN devices
[ Upstream commit 67d1a8956d ]

Set FLAG_WWAN instead of FLAG_ETHERNET for RNDIS interfaces on Mobile
Broadband Modems, as opposed to regular Ethernet adapters.

Otherwise NetworkManager gets confused, misjudges the device type,
and wouldn't know it should connect a modem to get the device to work.
What would be the result depends on ModemManager version -- older
ModemManager would end up disconnecting a device after an unsuccessful
probe attempt (if it connected without needing to unlock a SIM), while
a newer one might spawn a separate PPP connection over a tty interface
instead, resulting in a general confusion and no end of chaos.

The only way to get this work reliably is to fix the device type
and have good enough version ModemManager (or equivalent).

07f8bdce68 net: usb: usbnet: restore usb%d name exception for local mac addresses
commit 2ea396448f upstream.

commit 8a7d12d674 ("net: usb: usbnet: fix name regression") assumed
that local addresses always came from the kernel, but some devices hand
out local mac addresses so we ended up with point-to-point devices with
a mac set by the driver, renaming to eth%d when they used to be named
usb%d.

Userspace should not rely on device name, but for the sake of stability
restore the local mac address check portion of the naming exception:
point to point devices which either have no mac set by the driver or
have a local mac handed out by the driver will keep the usb%d name.

(some USB LTE modems are known to hand out a stable mac from the locally
administered range; that mac appears to be random (different for
mulitple devices) and can be reset with device-specific commands, so
while such devices would benefit from getting a OUI reserved, we have
to deal with these and might as well preserve the existing behavior
to avoid breaking fragile openwrt configurations and such on upgrade.)

4903303f25 wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: ensure offloading TID queue exists

The resume code path assumes that the TX queue for the offloading TID
has been configured. At resume time it then tries to sync the write

In the unusual event that no packets have been send on TID 0, the queue
will not have been allocated and this causes a crash. Fix this by

constantly being filled with errors related to a "sequence number glitch",
e.g.:

	[ 1903.284538] sequence number glitch prev=16 curr=0
	[ 1913.812205] sequence number glitch prev=50 curr=0
	[ 1923.698219] sequence number glitch prev=142 curr=0
	[ 2029.248276] sequence number glitch prev=1555 curr=0
	[ 2046.333059] sequence number glitch prev=70 curr=0
	[ 2076.520067] sequence number glitch prev=272 curr=0
	[ 2158.704202] sequence number glitch prev=2655 curr=0
	[ 2218.530776] sequence number glitch prev=2349 curr=0
	[ 2225.579092] sequence number glitch prev=6 curr=0

Internet connectivity is working fine, so this error seems harmless. It
looks like modem does not preserve the sequence number when entering low
power state; the amount of errors depends on how actively the modem is
being used.

A similar issue has also been seen on USB-based MBIM modems [1]. However,
in cdc_ncm.c the "sequence number glitch" message is a debug message
instead of an error. Apply the same to the mhi_wwan_mbim.c driver to
silence these errors when using the modem.

39e507d4f4 net/mlx5e: Prevent bridge link show failure for non-eswitch-allowed devices
[ Upstream commit e92df790d0 ]

mlx5_eswitch_get_vepa returns -EPERM if the device lacks
eswitch_manager capability, blocking mlx5e_bridge_getlink from
retrieving VEPA mode. Since mlx5e_bridge_getlink implements
ndo_bridge_getlink, returning -EPERM causes bridge link show to fail
instead of skipping devices without this capability.

To avoid this, return -EOPNOTSUPP from mlx5e_bridge_getlink when
mlx5_eswitch_get_vepa fails, ensuring the command continues processing
other devices while ignoring those without the necessary capability.

86ff45f5f6 net/mlx5: Bridge, fix the crash caused by LAG state check
[ Upstream commit 4b8eeed4fb ]

When removing LAG device from bridge, NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER event is
triggered. Driver finds the lower devices (PFs) to flush all the
offloaded entries. And mlx5_lag_is_shared_fdb is checked, it returns
false if one of PF is unloaded. In such case,
mlx5_esw_bridge_lag_rep_get() and its caller return NULL, instead of
the alive PF, and the flush is skipped.

Besides, the bridge fdb entry's lastuse is updated in mlx5 bridge
event handler. But this SWITCHDEV_FDB_ADD_TO_BRIDGE event can be
ignored in this case because the upper interface for bond is deleted,
and the entry will never be aged because lastuse is never updated.

To make things worse, as the entry is alive, mlx5 bridge workqueue
keeps sending that event, which is then handled by kernel bridge
notifier. It causes the following crash when accessing the passed bond
netdev which is already destroyed.

To fix this issue, remove such checks. LAG state is already checked in
commit 15f8f16895 ("net/mlx5: Bridge, verify LAG state when adding
bond to bridge"), driver still need to skip offload if LAG becomes
invalid state after initialization.

418119dd3f bonding: fix incorrect MAC address setting to receive NS messages
[ Upstream commit 0c5e145a35 ]

When validation on the backup slave is enabled, we need to validate the
Neighbor Solicitation (NS) messages received on the backup slave. To
receive these messages, the correct destination MAC address must be added
to the slave. However, the target in bonding is a unicast address, which
we cannot use directly. Instead, we should first convert it to a
Solicited-Node Multicast Address and then derive the corresponding MAC
address.

Fix the incorrect MAC address setting on both slave_set_ns_maddr() and
slave_set_ns_maddrs(). Since the two function names are similar. Add
some description for the functions. Also only use one mac_addr variable
in slave_set_ns_maddr() to save some code and logic.

e8e3e03d69 eth: bnxt: do not update checksum in bnxt_xdp_build_skb()
[ Upstream commit c03e7d05aa ]

The bnxt_rx_pkt() updates ip_summed value at the end if checksum offload
is enabled.
When the XDP-MB program is attached and it returns XDP_PASS, the
bnxt_xdp_build_skb() is called to update skb_shared_info.
The main purpose of bnxt_xdp_build_skb() is to update skb_shared_info,
but it updates ip_summed value too if checksum offload is enabled.
This is actually duplicate work.

When the bnxt_rx_pkt() updates ip_summed value, it checks if ip_summed
is CHECKSUM_NONE or not.
It means that ip_summed should be CHECKSUM_NONE at this moment.
But ip_summed may already be updated to CHECKSUM_UNNECESSARY in the
XDP-MB-PASS path.
So the by skb_checksum_none_assert() WARNS about it.

This is duplicate work and updating ip_summed in the
bnxt_xdp_build_skb() is not needed.

ATU Load operations could fail silently if there's not enough space

3de809a768 ppp: Fix KMSAN uninit-value warning with bpf
[ Upstream commit 4c2d14c40a ]

Syzbot caught an "KMSAN: uninit-value" warning [1], which is caused by the
ppp driver not initializing a 2-byte header when using socket filter.

The following code can generate a PPP filter BPF program:
'''
struct bpf_program fp;
pcap_t *handle;
handle = pcap_open_dead(DLT_PPP_PPPD, 65535);
pcap_compile(handle, &fp, "ip and outbound", 0, 0);
bpf_dump(&fp, 1);
'''
Its output is:
'''
(000) ldh [2]
(001) jeq #0x21 jt 2 jf 5
(002) ldb [0]
(003) jeq #0x1 jt 4 jf 5
(004) ret #65535
(005) ret #0
'''
Wen can find similar code at the following link:
https://github.com/ppp-project/ppp/blob/master/pppd/options.c#L1680
The maintainer of this code repository is also the original maintainer
of the ppp driver.

As you can see the BPF program skips 2 bytes of data and then reads the
'Protocol' field to determine if it's an IP packet. Then it read the first
byte of the first 2 bytes to determine the direction.

The issue is that only the first byte indicating direction is initialized
in current ppp driver code while the second byte is not initialized.

For normal BPF programs generated by libpcap, uninitialized data won't be
used, so it's not a problem. However, for carefully crafted BPF programs,
such as those generated by syzkaller [2], which start reading from offset
0, the uninitialized data will be used and caught by KMSAN.

and returned directly without unregister clock and free it. To avoid that,
call hclge_ptp_destroy_clock to unregist and free clock if
hclge_ptp_get_cycle failed.

4393452e6c be2net: fix sleeping while atomic bugs in be_ndo_bridge_getlink
[ Upstream commit 1a82d19ca2 ]

Partially revert commit b71724147e ("be2net: replace polling with
sleeping in the FW completion path") w.r.t mcc mutex it introduces and the
use of usleep_range. The be2net be_ndo_bridge_getlink() callback is
called with rcu_read_lock, so this code has been broken for a long time.
Both the mutex_lock and the usleep_range can cause the issue Ian Kumlien
reported[1]. The call path is:
be_ndo_bridge_getlink -> be_cmd_get_hsw_config -> be_mcc_notify_wait ->
be_mcc_wait_compl -> usleep_range()

29e0cd296c caif_virtio: fix wrong pointer check in cfv_probe()
[ Upstream commit a466fd7e9f ]

del_vqs() frees virtqueues, therefore cfv->vq_tx pointer should be checked
for NULL before calling it, not cfv->vdev. Also the current implementation
is redundant because the pointer cfv->vdev is dereferenced before it is
checked for NULL.

Fix this by checking cfv->vq_tx for NULL instead of cfv->vdev before
calling del_vqs().

88ed69f924 wifi: iwlwifi: limit printed string from FW file
[ Upstream commit e0dc2c1bef ]

There's no guarantee here that the file is always with a
NUL-termination, so reading the string may read beyond the
end of the TLV. If that's the last TLV in the file, it can
perhaps even read beyond the end of the file buffer.

Fix that by limiting the print format to the size of the
buffer we have.

c2b3f2af0a ibmvnic: Inspect header requirements before using scrq direct
[ Upstream commit de390657b5 ]

Previously, the TX header requirement for standard frames was ignored.
This requirement is a bitstring sent from the VIOS which maps to the
type of header information needed during TX. If no header information,
is needed then send subcrq direct can be used (which can be more
performant).

This bitstring was previously ignored for standard packets (AKA non LSO,
non CSO) due to the belief that the bitstring was over-cautionary. It
turns out that there are some configurations where the backing device
does need header information for transmission of standard packets. If
the information is not supplied then this causes continuous "Adapter
error" transport events. Therefore, this bitstring should be respected
and observed before considering the use of send subcrq direct.

30875b69e3 ibmvnic: Perform tx CSO during send scrq direct
[ Upstream commit e633e32b60 ]

During initialization with the vnic server, a bitstring is communicated
to the client regarding header info needed during CSO (See "VNIC
Capabilities" in PAPR). Most of the time, to be safe, vnic server
requests header info for CSO. When header info is needed, multiple TX
descriptors are required per skb; This limits the driver to use
send_subcrq_indirect instead of send_subcrq_direct.

Previously, the vnic server request for header info was ignored. This
allowed the use of send_sub_crq_direct. Transmissions were successful
because the bitstring returned by vnic server is broad and over
cautionary. It was observed that mlx backing devices could actually
transmit and handle CSO packets without the vnic server receiving
header info (despite the fact that the bitstring requested it).

There was a trust issue: The bitstring was overcautionary. This extra
precaution (requesting header info when the backing device may not use
it) comes at the cost of performance (using direct vs indirect hcalls
has a 30% delta in small packet RR transaction rate). So it has been
requested that the vnic server team tries to ensure that the bitstring
is more exact. In the meantime, disable CSO when it is possible to use
the skb in the send_subcrq_direct path. In other words, calculate the
checksum before handing the packet to FW when the packet is not
segmented and xmit_more is false.

Since the code path is only possible if the skb is non GSO and xmit_more
is false, the cost of doing checksum in the send_subcrq_direct path is
minimal. Any large segmented skb will have xmit_more set to true more
frequently and it is inexpensive to do checksumming on a small skb.
The worst-case workload would be a 9000 MTU TCP_RR test with close
to MTU sized packets (and TSO off). This allows xmit_more to be false
more frequently and open the code path up to use send_subcrq_direct.
Observing trace data (graph-time = 1) and packet rate with this workload
shows minimal performance degradation:

1. NIC does checksum w headers, safely use send_subcrq_indirect:
  - Packet rate: 631k txs
  - Trace data:
    ibmvnic_xmit = 44344685.87 us / 6234576 hits = AVG 7.11 us
      skb_checksum_help = 4.07 us / 2 hits = AVG 2.04 us
       ^ Notice hits, tracing this just for reassurance
      ibmvnic_tx_scrq_flush = 33040649.69 us / 5638441 hits = AVG 5.86 us
        send_subcrq_indirect = 37438922.24 us / 6030859 hits = AVG 6.21 us

2. NIC does checksum w/o headers, dangerously use send_subcrq_direct:
  - Packet rate: 831k txs
  - Trace data:
    ibmvnic_xmit = 48940092.29 us / 8187630 hits = AVG 5.98 us
      skb_checksum_help = 2.03 us / 1 hits = AVG 2.03
      ibmvnic_tx_scrq_flush = 31141879.57 us / 7948960 hits = AVG 3.92 us
        send_subcrq_indirect = 8412506.03 us / 728781 hits = AVG 11.54
         ^ notice hits is much lower b/c send_subcrq_direct was called
                                            ^ wasn't traceable

3. driver does checksum, safely use send_subcrq_direct (THIS PATCH):
  - Packet rate: 829k txs
  - Trace data:
    ibmvnic_xmit = 56696077.63 us / 8066168 hits = AVG 7.03 us
      skb_checksum_help = 8587456.16 us / 7526072 hits = AVG 1.14 us
      ibmvnic_tx_scrq_flush = 30219545.55 us / 7782409 hits = AVG 3.88 us
        send_subcrq_indirect = 8638326.44 us / 763693 hits = AVG 11.31 us

When the bitstring ever specifies that CSO does not require headers
(dependent on VIOS vnic server changes), then this patch should be
removed and replaced with one that investigates the bitstring before
using send_subcrq_direct.
