When a CX5 device is configured in dual-port RoCE mode, after creating many VFs against port 1, creating the same number of VFs against port 2 will flood kernel/syslog with something like "mlx5_*:mlx5_ib_bind_slave_port:4266:(pid 5269): port 2 already affiliated." So basically, when traversing mlx5_ib_dev_list, mlx5_ib_add_slave_port() repeatedly attempts to bind the new mpi structure to every device on the list until it finds an unbound device. Change the log level from warn to dbg to avoid log flooding as the warning should be harmless. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
