The arm64 PMU updates the event counters and reprograms the counters in the overflow IRQ handler without disabling the PMU. This could potentially cause skews in for group counters, where the overflowed counters may potentially loose some event counts, while they are reprogrammed. To prevent this, disable the PMU while we process the counter overflows and enable it right back when we are done. This patch also moves the PMU stop/start routines to avoid a forward declaration. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
