5882e5acf1On riscv, the current crash kernel allocation logic is trying to allocate within 32bit addressible memory region by default, if failed, try to allocate without 4G restriction. In need of saving DMA zone memory while allocating a relatively large crash kernel region, allocating the reserved memory top down in high memory, without overlapping the DMA zone, is a mature solution. Here introduce the parameter option crashkernel=X,[high,low]. One can reserve the crash kernel from high memory above DMA zone range by explicitly passing "crashkernel=X,high"; or reserve a memory range below 4G with "crashkernel=X,low". Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
