Adding write support to the buffer-dma code is easy - the write() function basically needs to do the exact same thing as the read() function: dequeue a block, read or write the data, enqueue the block when entirely processed. Therefore, the iio_buffer_dma_read() and the new iio_buffer_dma_write() now both call a function iio_buffer_dma_io(), which will perform this task. Note that we preemptively reset block->bytes_used to the buffer's size in iio_dma_buffer_request_update(), as in the future the iio_dma_buffer_enqueue() function won't reset it. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
