With -cpu host, KVM reports LBR and extra_regs support, if the host has
support.
When the guest perf driver tries to access LBR or extra_regs MSR,
it #GPs all MSR accesses, since KVM doesn't handle LBR and extra_regs support.
So check the related MSRs access right once at initialization time to avoid
the error access at runtime.
For reproducing the issue, please build the kernel with CONFIG_KVM_INTEL = y
(for host kernel).
And CONFIG_PARAVIRT = n and CONFIG_KVM_GUEST = n (for guest kernel).
Start the guest with -cpu host.
Run perf record with --branch-any or --branch-filter in guest to trigger LBR
Run perf stat offcore events (E.g. LLC-loads/LLC-load-misses ...) in guest to
trigger offcore_rsp #GP

This patch fixes the SNB-EP and IVT Cbox filter mapping

which events. There were several mistakes in those tables
causing some filters to be ignored, such as NID on

Vince reported that commit 15a2d4de0e ("perf: Always destroy groups
on exit") causes a regression with grouped events. In particular his
read_group_attached.c test fails.
https://github.com/deater/perf_event_tests/blob/master/tests/bugs/read_group_attached.c
Because of the context switch optimization in
perf_event_context_sched_out() the 'original' event may end up in the
child process and when that exits the change in the patch in question
destroys the actual grouping.
Therefore revert that change and only destroy inherited groups.

When we have at least one LE slave connection most (probably all)

unnecessary failures simply check for this situation up-front and skip

Most (probably all) controllers can only deal with a single slave LE
connection at a time. This patch adds a counter for such connections so
that the number can be quickly looked up without iterating the
connections list.

We need to be able to track slave vs master LE connections in
hci_conn_hash, and to be able to do that we need to know the role of the
connection by the time hci_conn_add_has() is called. This means in
practice the hci_conn_add() call that creates the hci_conn_object.
This patch adds a new role parameter to hci_conn_add() function to give
the object its initial role value, and updates the callers to pass the
appropriate role to it. Since the function now takes care of
initializing both conn->role and conn->out values we can remove some
other unnecessary assignments.

To make the code more understandable it makes sense to use the new HCI
defines for connection role instead of a "bool master" parameter. This
makes it immediately clear when looking at the function calls what the
last parameter is describing.

Having a dedicated u8 role variable in the hci_conn struct greatly

All HCI commands and events, including LE ones, use 0x00 for master role
and 0x01 for slave role. It makes therefore sense to add generic defines
for these instead of the current LE_CONN_ROLE_MASTER. Having clean
defines will also make it possible to provide simpler internal APIs.

The PSW_MASK_USER define contains the PSW_MASK_ASC bits, the ptrace

to reject the address-space-control bit combination for home space.

MSI irqchip in s390 has its own mask and unmask MSI irq
functions, zpci_enable_irq() and zpci_disable_irq().
They mask and unmask MSI irq in standard ways, no arch
special. MSI driver provides two global standard functions
mask_msi_irq() and unmask_msi_irq(). Local zpci_enable_irq()
and zpci_disable_irq() are almost the same as the standard
two. the difference is local mask/unmask functions
read the mask status before mask and unmask everytime.
Then change the value and rewrite to hardware. In standard
functions, save the mask status after mask and unmask msi
irq, and use the cached status to change the mask status.
When we mask or unmask a MSI irq, we always cache its
mask status except we know need not to cache it, like in
pci_msi_shutdown. So use the standard functions to replace
the local is safe.

broken. The raw3270_reset_device_cb function clears the init_data array,

776687bce4 ("block, blk-mq: draining can't be skipped even if
bypass_depth was non-zero") made it easier to trigger this bug by
making blk_queue_bypass_start() drain even when it loses the first
bypass test to blk_cleanup_queue(); however, the bug has always been
there even before the commit as blk_queue_bypass_start() could race
against queue destruction, win the initial bypass test but perform the
actual draining after blk_cleanup_queue() already destroyed all blkgs.
Fix it by skippping calling into policy draining if all the blkgs are
already gone.

bonding: convert pr_* to netdev_*
Currently bonding uses pr_info/warn/etc. function to print something, while
it's encouraged to use netdev_info/warn/etc. in net/.
This patchset converts them where possible (i.e. where we have a working
net_device). Also, convert pr_ratelimit* to net_() and remove the pr_fmt,
to unify netdev_* and pr_* outputs.

only require ndo_set_mac_address in case bonding is in active-backup mode

To fix this - only exit with an error if we're in a/b mode and have

The driver has been broken and disabled for several kernel versions now.
It doesn't have a maintainer anymore, and most of the people who've
worked on it have moved on. There's also still a long list of issues in
the TODO file before it can be moved out of staging. Until someone can
put in the work to make the driver work again and move it out of
staging, remove it from the kernel.
