8507786171 mips: dts: ralink: mt7621: add cell count properties to usb
Add default #address-cells and #size-cells properties to the
usb node, which should be suitable for hubs and devices without
explicitly declared interface nodes, as:

   "#address-cells":
     description: should be 1 for hub nodes with device nodes,
       should be 2 for device nodes with interface nodes.
     enum: [1, 2]

   "#size-cells":
     const: 0

900b2801bf ynl: samples: fix recycling rate calculation
Running the page-pool sample on production machines under moderate
networking load shows recycling rate higher than 100%:

$ page-pool
    eth0[2]	page pools: 14 (zombies: 0)
		refs: 89088 bytes: 364904448 (refs: 0 bytes: 0)
		recycling: 100.3% (alloc: 1392:2290247724 recycle: 469289484:1828235386)

Note that outstanding refs (89088) == slow alloc * cache size (1392 * 64)
which means this machine is recycling page pool pages perfectly, not
a single page has been released.

The extra 0.3% is because sample ignores allocations from the ptr_ring.
Treat those the same as alloc_fast, the ring vs cache alloc is
already captured accurately enough by recycling stats.

With the fix:

$ page-pool
    eth0[2]	page pools: 14 (zombies: 0)
		refs: 89088 bytes: 364904448 (refs: 0 bytes: 0)

c2b2509286 Merge branch 'qmc-hdlc'
Herve Codina says:

====================
Add support for QMC HDLC

This series introduces the QMC HDLC support.

Patches were previously sent as part of a full feature series and were
previously reviewed in that context:
"Add support for QMC HDLC, framer infrastructure and PEF2256 framer" [1]

In order to ease the merge, the full feature series has been split and
needed parts were merged in v6.8-rc1:
 - "Prepare the PowerQUICC QMC and TSA for the HDLC QMC driver" [2]
 - "Add support for framer infrastructure and PEF2256 framer" [3]

This series contains patches related to the QMC HDLC part (QMC HDLC
driver):
 - Introduce the QMC HDLC driver (patches 1 and 2)
 - Add timeslots change support in QMC HDLC (patch 3)
 - Add framer support as a framer consumer in QMC HDLC (patch 4)

Compare to the original full feature series, a modification was done on
patch 3 in order to use a coherent prefix in the commit title.

I kept the patches unsquashed as they were previously sent and reviewed.
Of course, I can squash them if needed.

Compared to the previous iteration:
  https://lore.kernel.org/linux-kernel/20240306080726.167338-1-herve.codina@bootlin.com/
this v7 series mainly:
- Rename a variable.
- Fix reverse xmas tree declarations.
- Add 'Acked-by' tag.

de5f843389 lib/bitmap: Introduce bitmap_scatter() and bitmap_gather() helpers
These helpers scatters or gathers a bitmap with the help of the mask

bitmap_scatter() does the following:

  mask: ...v..vv...v..vv
        ...0..11...0..10
  dst:  0000001100000010

and bitmap_gather() performs this one:
   mask: ...v..vv...v..vv
   src:  0000001100000010
            ^  ^^   ^   0
            |  ||   |  10

            +----> 011010
   dst:  0000000000011010

bitmap_gather() can the seen as the reverse bitmap_scatter() operation.

44929bface kbuild: remove GCC's default -Wpacked-bitfield-compat flag
Commit 4a5838ad9d ("kbuild: Add extra gcc checks") added the
-Wpacked-bitfield-compat flag, but there is no need to add it
explicitly.

GCC manual says:
  "This warning is enabled by default. Use -Wno-packed-bitfield-compat

The test code in the manual:

  struct foo
  {

... emits "note: offset of packed bit-field ‘b’ has changed in GCC 4.4"

Let's remove it, as it is a default with GCC.

Clang does not support this flag, so its removal will not affect Clang
builds.

5f51de7e30 ALSA: hda/tas2781: do not call pm_runtime_force_* in system_resume/suspend
The runtime_resume function calls prmg_load and apply_calibration
functions, but system_resume also calls them, so calling
pm_runtime_force_resume before reset is unnecessary.

For consistency, do not call the pm_runtime_force_suspend in
system_suspend, as runtime_suspend does the same.

bec7760a6c ALSA: hda/tas2781: do not reset cur_* values in runtime_suspend
The amplifier doesn't loose register state in software shutdown mode, so
there is no need to reset the cur_* values.

Without these resets, the amplifier can be turned on after
runtime_suspend without waiting for the program and
profile to be restored.

c062166995 ALSA: hda/realtek: fix ALC285 issues on HP Envy x360 laptops
Realtek codec on HP Envy laptop series are heavily modified by vendor.
Therefore, need intervention to make it work properly. The patch fixes:

- B&O soundbar speakers (between lid and keyboard) activation
- Enable LED on mute button
- Add missing process coefficient which affects the output amplifier
- Volume control synchronization between B&O soundbar and side speakers
- Unmute headset output on several HP Envy models
- Auto-enable headset mic when plugged

This patch was tested on HP Envy x360 13-AR0107AU with Realtek ALC285

The only unsolved problem is output amplifier of all built-in speakers
is too weak, which causes volume of built-in speakers cannot be loud
as vendor's proprietary driver due to missing _DSD parameter in the
firmware. The solution is currently on research. Expected to has another
patch in the future.

Potential fix to related issues, need test before close those issues:

992e883359 OPP: debugfs: Fix warning with W=1 builds
We currently get the following warning:

                 snprintf(name, sizeof(name), "supply-%d", i);

debugfs.c:105:46: note: directive argument in the range [-2147483644, 2147483646]

                 snprintf(name, sizeof(name), "supply-%d", i);

Fix this and other potential issues it by allocating larger arrays.
Use the exact string format to allocate the arrays without getting into
these issues again.

838a4772bf cpufreq: Move dev_pm_opp_{init|free}_cpufreq_table() to pm_opp.h
Move the declaration of functions defined in the OPP core to pm_opp.h.
These were added to cpufreq.h as it was the only user of the APIs, but
that was a mistake perhaps. Fix it.

04f082d39b firewire: core: fix build failure due to the caller of fw_csr_string()
A commit 47dc55181d ("firewire: core: search descriptor leaf just after
vendor directory entry in root directory") for v6.8-rc3 and a commit
67a5a58c0443 ("firewire: Kill unnecessary buf check in
device_attribute.show") for v6.9 bring build failure in for-next tree due
to the change of the name of local variable.

This commit fixes it.

d4db89c345 firewire: Convert snprintf/sprintf to sysfs_emit
Per filesystems/sysfs.rst, show() should only use sysfs_emit()
or sysfs_emit_at() when formatting the value to be returned to user space.

coccinelle complains that there are still a couple of functions that use
snprintf(). Convert them to sysfs_emit().

> drivers/firewire/core-device.c:326:8-16: WARNING: please use sysfs_emit or sysfs_emit_at

Per Documentation/filesystems/sysfs.rst:
> sysfs allocates a buffer of size (PAGE_SIZE) and passes it to the

So we can kill the unnecessary buf check safely.
