The issue happens when wait_event_interruptible_timeout() returns a value
<= 0.

In that case, the pq is left on the list. The code continues sending
packets and potentially can complete the current request with the pq still
on the dmawait list provided no descriptor shortage is seen.

If the pq is torn down in that state, the sdma interrupt handler could
find the now freed pq on the list with list corruption or memory
corruption resulting.

Fix by adding a flush routine to ensure that the pq is never on a list
after processing a request.

A follow-up patch series will address issues with seqlock surfaced in:
https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200320003129.GP20941@ziepe.ca

The seqlock use for sdma will then be converted to a spin lock since the
list_empty() doesn't need the protection afforded by the sequence lock
currently in use.

aa5e2af660 samples, bpf: Refactor perf_event user program with libbpf bpf_link
The bpf_program__attach of libbpf(using bpf_link) is much more intuitive
than the previous method using ioctl.

bpf_program__attach_perf_event manages the enable of perf_event and
attach of BPF programs to it, so there's no neeed to do this
directly with ioctl.

In addition, bpf_link provides consistency in the use of API because it
allows disable (detach, destroy) for multiple events to be treated as
one bpf_link__destroy. Also, bpf_link__destroy manages the close() of
perf_event fd.

This commit refactors samples that attach the bpf program to perf_event
by using libbbpf instead of ioctl. Also the bpf_load in the samples were
removed and migrated to use libbbpf API.

86f3cd1b58 io-wq: handle hashed writes in chains
We always punt async buffered writes to an io-wq helper, as the core
kernel does not have IOCB_NOWAIT support for that. Most buffered async
writes complete very quickly, as it's just a copy operation. This means
that doing multiple locking roundtrips on the shared wqe lock for each
buffered write is wasteful. Additionally, buffered writes are hashed
work items, which means that any buffered write to a given file is
serialized.

Keep identicaly hashed work items contiguously in @wqe->work_list, and
track a tail for each hash bucket. On dequeue of a hashed item, splice
all of the same hash in one go using the tracked tail. Until the batch
is done, the caller doesn't have to synchronize with the wqe or worker
locks again.

When application uses TCP_QUEUE_SEQ socket option to
change tp->rcv_next, we must also update tp->copied_seq.

Otherwise, stuff relying on tcp_inq() being precise can
eventually be confused.

For example, tcp_zerocopy_receive() might crash because
it does not expect tcp_recv_skb() to return NULL.

We could add tests in various places to fix the issue,
or simply make sure tcp_inq() wont return a random value,
and leave fast path as it is.

Note that this fixes ioctl(fd, SIOCINQ, &val) at the same
time.

1454c9fa91 net: Make skb_segment not to compute checksum if network controller supports checksumming
Problem:
TCP checksum in the output path is not being offloaded during GSO
in the following case:
The network driver does not support scatter-gather but supports
checksum offload with NETIF_F_HW_CSUM.

Cause:
skb_segment calls skb_copy_and_csum_bits if the network driver
does not announce NETIF_F_SG. It does not check if the driver
supports NETIF_F_HW_CSUM.
So for devices which might want to offload checksum but do not support SG
there is currently no way to do so if GSO is enabled.

Solution:
In skb_segment check if the network controller does checksum and if so
call skb_copy_bits instead of skb_copy_and_csum_bits.

Testing:
Without the patch, ran iperf TCP traffic with NETIF_F_HW_CSUM enabled
in the network driver. Observed the TCP checksum offload is not happening
since the skbs received by the driver in the output path have
skb->ip_summed set to CHECKSUM_NONE.

With the patch ran iperf TCP traffic and observed that TCP checksum
is being offloaded with skb->ip_summed set to CHECKSUM_PARTIAL.
Also tested with the patch by disabling NETIF_F_HW_CSUM in the driver
to cover the newly introduced if-else code path in skb_segment.

This patch adds test to exercise the bpf_sk_storage_get()

The setup and check on the sk_storage is done immediately

This patch also takes this chance to move the pthread_create()

Gracefully handle faults on VMXON, e.g. #GP due to VMX being disabled by
BIOS, instead of letting the fault crash the system. Now that KVM uses
cpufeatures to query support instead of reading MSR_IA32_FEAT_CTL
directly, it's possible for a bug in a different subsystem to cause KVM
to incorrectly attempt VMXON[*]. Crashing the system is especially
annoying if the system is configured such that hardware_enable() will
be triggered during boot.

Oppurtunistically rename @addr to @vmxon_pointer and use a named param
to reference it in the inline assembly.

Print 0xdeadbeef in the ultra-"rare" case that reading MSR_IA32_FEAT_CTL
also faults.

31603d4fc2 KVM: VMX: Always VMCLEAR in-use VMCSes during crash with kexec support
VMCLEAR all in-use VMCSes during a crash, even if kdump's NMI shootdown
interrupted a KVM update of the percpu in-use VMCS list.

Because NMIs are not blocked by disabling IRQs, it's possible that
crash_vmclear_local_loaded_vmcss() could be called while the percpu list
of VMCSes is being modified, e.g. in the middle of list_add() in
vmx_vcpu_load_vmcs(). This potential corner case was called out in the
original commit[*], but the analysis of its impact was wrong.

Skipping the VMCLEARs is wrong because it all but guarantees that a
loaded, and therefore cached, VMCS will live across kexec and corrupt
memory in the new kernel. Corruption will occur because the CPU's VMCS
cache is non-coherent, i.e. not snooped, and so the writeback of VMCS
memory on its eviction will overwrite random memory in the new kernel.
The VMCS will live because the NMI shootdown also disables VMX, i.e. the
in-progress VMCLEAR will #UD, and existing Intel CPUs do not flush the
VMCS cache on VMXOFF.

Furthermore, interrupting list_add() and list_del() is safe due to
crash_vmclear_local_loaded_vmcss() using forward iteration.  list_add()
ensures the new entry is not visible to forward iteration unless the
entire add completes, via WRITE_ONCE(prev->next, new). A bad "prev"
pointer could be observed if the NMI shootdown interrupted list_del() or
list_add(), but list_for_each_entry() does not consume ->prev.

In addition to removing the temporary disabling of VMCLEAR, open code
loaded_vmcs_init() in __loaded_vmcs_clear() and reorder VMCLEAR so that
the VMCS is deleted from the list only after it's been VMCLEAR'd.
Deleting the VMCS before VMCLEAR would allow a race where the NMI
shootdown could arrive between list_del() and vmcs_clear() and thus
neither flow would execute a successful VMCLEAR. Alternatively, more
code could be moved into loaded_vmcs_init(), but that gets rather silly
as the only other user, alloc_loaded_vmcs(), doesn't need the smp_wmb()
and would need to work around the list_del().

Update the smp_*() comments related to the list manipulation, and
opportunistically reword them to improve clarity.

428b8f1d9f KVM: VMX: don't allow memory operands for inline asm that modifies SP
THUNK_TARGET defines [thunk_target] as having "rm" input constraints
when CONFIG_RETPOLINE is not set, which isn't constrained enough for
this specific case.

For inline assembly that modifies the stack pointer before using this
input, the underspecification of constraints is dangerous, and results
in an indirect call to a previously pushed flags register.

In this case `entry`'s stack slot is good enough to satisfy the "m"
constraint in "rm", but the inline assembly in
handle_external_interrupt_irqoff() modifies the stack pointer via
push+pushf before using this input, which in this case results in
calling what was the previous state of the flags register, rather than
`entry`.

Be more specific in the constraints by requiring `entry` be in a
register, and not a memory operand.

spi: spi-fsl-lpspi: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array member
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:

struct foo {
        int stuff;
        struct boo array[];
};

By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.

Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:

"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]

This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.
