8ad28208be ACPI: CPPC: Fix MASK_VAL() usage
[ Upstream commit 60949b7b80 ]

MASK_VAL() was added as a way to handle bit_offset and bit_width for
registers located in system memory address space. However, while suited
for reading, it does not work for writing and result in corrupted
registers when writing values with bit_offset > 0. Moreover, when a
register is collocated with another one at the same address but with a
different mask, the current code results in the other registers being
overwritten with 0s. The write procedure for SYSTEM_MEMORY registers
should actually read the value, mask it, update it and write it with the
updated value. Moreover, since registers can be located in the same
word, we must take care of locking the access before doing it. We should
potentially use a global lock since we don't know in if register
addresses aren't shared with another _CPC package but better not
encourage vendors to do so. Assume that registers can use the same word
inside a _CPC package and thus, use a per _CPC package lock.

d54455a3a9 wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for offchannel TX either

Like the commit ab9177d83c ("wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for
scanning"), ignore incorrect settings to avoid no supported rate warning
reported by syzbot.

The syzbot did bisect and found cause is commit 9df66d5b9f ("cfg80211:
fix default HE tx bitrate mask in 2G band"), which however corrects
bitmask of HE MCS and recognizes correctly settings of empty legacy rate
plus HE MCS rate instead of returning -EINVAL.

As suggestions [1], follow the change of SCAN TX to consider this case of
offchannel TX as well.

4ec0d8dbd7 net: tighten bad gso csum offset check in virtio_net_hdr
commit 6513eb3d31 upstream.

The referenced commit drops bad input, but has false positives.
Tighten the check to avoid these.

The check detects illegal checksum offload requests, which produce
csum_start/csum_off beyond end of packet after segmentation.

But it is based on two incorrect assumptions:

1. virtio_net_hdr_to_skb with VIRTIO_NET_HDR_GSO_TCP[46] implies GSO.
True in callers that inject into the tx path, such as tap.
But false in callers that inject into rx, like virtio-net.
Here, the flags indicate GRO, and CHECKSUM_UNNECESSARY or
CHECKSUM_NONE without VIRTIO_NET_HDR_F_NEEDS_CSUM is normal.

2. TSO requires checksum offload, i.e., ip_summed == CHECKSUM_PARTIAL.
False, as tcp[46]_gso_segment will fix up csum_start and offset for
all other ip_summed by calling __tcp_v4_send_check.

Because of 2, we can limit the scope of the fix to virtio_net_hdr
that do try to set these fields, with a bogus value.

bfc8dab8c7 device property: Introduce device_for_each_child_node_scoped()
[ Upstream commit 365130fd47 ]

Similar to recently propose for_each_child_of_node_scoped() this
new version of the loop macro instantiates a new local
struct fwnode_handle * that uses the __free(fwnode_handle) auto
cleanup handling so that if a reference to a node is held on early
exit from the loop the reference will be released. If the loop
runs to completion, the child pointer will be NULL and no action will
be taken.

The reason this is useful is that it removes the need for
fwnode_handle_put() on early loop exits. If there is a need
to retain the reference, then return_ptr(child) or no_free_ptr(child)
may be used to safely disable the auto cleanup.

1ec40a175a cpufreq: amd-pstate: Enable amd-pstate preferred core support
commit f3a0523918 upstream.

amd-pstate driver utilizes the functions and data structures
provided by the ITMT architecture to enable the scheduler to
favor scheduling on cores which can be get a higher frequency
with lower voltage. We call it amd-pstate preferrred core.

Here sched_set_itmt_core_prio() is called to set priorities and
sched_set_itmt_support() is called to enable ITMT feature.
amd-pstate driver uses the highest performance value to indicate
the priority of CPU. The higher value has a higher priority.

The initial core rankings are set up by amd-pstate when the
system boots.

Add a variable hw_prefcore in cpudata structure. It will check
if the processor and power firmware support preferred core
feature.

Add one new early parameter `disable` to allow user to disable
the preferred core.

Only when hardware supports preferred core and user set `enabled`
in early parameter, amd pstate driver supports preferred core featue.

1a8b2391e0 mm: Introduce pudp/p4dp/pgdp_get() functions

f8d6acb19f bpf, net: Fix a potential race in do_sock_getsockopt()
[ Upstream commit 33f339a1ba ]

There's a potential race when `cgroup_bpf_enabled(CGROUP_GETSOCKOPT)` is
false during the execution of `BPF_CGROUP_GETSOCKOPT_MAX_OPTLEN`, but
becomes true when `BPF_CGROUP_RUN_PROG_GETSOCKOPT` is called.
This inconsistency can lead to `BPF_CGROUP_RUN_PROG_GETSOCKOPT` receiving
an "-EFAULT" from `__cgroup_bpf_run_filter_getsockopt(max_optlen=0)`.
Scenario shown as below:

           `process A`                      `process B`
           -----------                      ------------
  BPF_CGROUP_GETSOCKOPT_MAX_OPTLEN
                                            enable CGROUP_GETSOCKOPT
  BPF_CGROUP_RUN_PROG_GETSOCKOPT (-EFAULT)

To resolve this, remove the `BPF_CGROUP_GETSOCKOPT_MAX_OPTLEN` macro and
directly uses `copy_from_sockptr` to ensure that `max_optlen` is always
set before `BPF_CGROUP_RUN_PROG_GETSOCKOPT` is invoked.

e78bd85af2 Bluetooth: Remove pending ACL connection attempts
[ Upstream commit 4aa42119d9 ]

With the last commit we moved to using the hci_sync queue for "Create
Connection" requests, removing the need for retrying the paging after
finished/failed "Create Connection" requests and after the end of
inquiries.

hci_conn_check_pending() was used to trigger this retry, we can remove it
now.

Note that we can also remove the special handling for COMMAND_DISALLOWED
errors in the completion handler of "Create Connection", because "Create
Connection" requests are now always serialized.

This is somewhat reverting commit 4c67bc74f0 ("[Bluetooth] Support
concurrent connect requests").

With this, the BT_CONNECT2 state of ACL hci_conn objects should now be
back to meaning only one thing: That we received a "Connection Request"
from another device (see hci_conn_request_evt), but the response to that
is going to be deferred.

c57edb5482 Bluetooth: hci_conn: Only do ACL connections sequentially
[ Upstream commit 45340097ce ]

Pretty much all bluetooth chipsets only support paging a single device at
a time, and if they don't reject a secondary "Create Connection" request
while another is still ongoing, they'll most likely serialize those
requests in the firware.

With commit 4c67bc74f0 ("[Bluetooth] Support concurrent connect
requests") we started adding some serialization of our own in case the
adapter returns "Command Disallowed" HCI error.

This commit was using the BT_CONNECT2 state for the serialization, this
state is also used for a few more things (most notably to indicate we're
waiting for an inquiry to cancel) and therefore a bit unreliable. Also
not all BT firwares would respond with "Command Disallowed" on too many
connection requests, some will also respond with "Hardware Failure"
(BCM4378), and others will error out later and send a "Connect Complete"
event with error "Rejected Limited Resources" (Marvell 88W8897).

We can clean things up a bit and also make the serialization more reliable
by using our hci_sync machinery to always do "Create Connection" requests
in a sequential manner.

This is very similar to what we're already doing for establishing LE
connections, and it works well there.

Note that this causes a test failure in mgmt-tester (test "Pair Device
- Power off 1") because the hci_abort_conn_sync() changes the error we
return on timeout of the "Create Connection". We'll fix this on the
mgmt-tester side by adjusting the expected error for the test.

0b46b4ac92 x86/kaslr: Expose and use the end of the physical memory address space
commit ea72ce5da2 upstream.

iounmap() on x86 occasionally fails to unmap because the provided valid
ioremap address is not below high_memory. It turned out that this
happens due to KASLR.

KASLR uses the full address space between PAGE_OFFSET and vaddr_end to
randomize the starting points of the direct map, vmalloc and vmemmap
regions. It thereby limits the size of the direct map by using the
installed memory size plus an extra configurable margin for hot-plug
memory. This limitation is done to gain more randomization space
because otherwise only the holes between the direct map, vmalloc,
vmemmap and vaddr_end would be usable for randomizing.

The limited direct map size is not exposed to the rest of the kernel, so
the memory hot-plug and resource management related code paths still
operate under the assumption that the available address space can be
determined with MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS.

request_free_mem_region() allocates from (1 << MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS) - 1
downwards. That means the first allocation happens past the end of the
direct map and if unlucky this address is in the vmalloc space, which
causes high_memory to become greater than VMALLOC_START and consequently
causes iounmap() to fail for valid ioremap addresses.

MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS cannot be changed for that because the randomization
does not align with address bit boundaries and there are other places
which actually require to know the maximum number of address bits. All
remaining usage sites of MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS have been analyzed and found
to be correct.

Cure this by exposing the end of the direct map via PHYSMEM_END and use
that for the memory hot-plug and resource management related places
instead of relying on MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS. In the KASLR case PHYSMEM_END
maps to a variable which is initialized by the KASLR initialization and
otherwise it is based on MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS as before.

To prevent future hickups add a check into add_pages() to catch callers
trying to add memory above PHYSMEM_END.

fc1b1e135c fsnotify: clear PARENT_WATCHED flags lazily
[ Upstream commit 172e422ffe ]

In some setups directories can have many (usually negative) dentries.
Hence __fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags() function can take a
significant amount of time. Since the bulk of this function happens
under inode->i_lock this causes a significant contention on the lock
when we remove the watch from the directory as the
__fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags() call from fsnotify_recalc_mask()
races with __fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags() calls from
__fsnotify_parent() happening on children. This can lead upto softlockup
reports reported by users.

Fix the problem by calling fsnotify_update_children_dentry_flags() to
set PARENT_WATCHED flags only when parent starts watching children.

When parent stops watching children, clear false positive PARENT_WATCHED
flags lazily in __fsnotify_parent() for each accessed child.

f9a9cf96c3 pwm: xilinx: Fix u32 overflow issue in 32-bit width PWM mode.
[ Upstream commit 56f45266df ]

This timer HW supports 8, 16 and 32-bit timer widths. This
driver currently uses a u32 to store the max possible value
of the timer. However, statements perform addition of 2 in
xilinx_pwm_apply() when calculating the period_cycles and
duty_cycles values. Since priv->max is a u32, this will
result in an overflow to 1 which will not only be incorrect
but fail on range comparison. This results in making it
impossible to set the PWM in this timer mode.

There are two obvious solutions to the current problem:
1. Cast each instance where overflow occurs to u64.
2. Change priv->max from a u32 to a u64.

Solution #1 requires more code modifications, and leaves
opportunity to introduce similar overflows if other math
statements are added in the future. These may also go
undetected if running in non 32-bit timer modes.

Solution #2 is the much smaller and cleaner approach and
thus the chosen method in this patch.

This was tested on a Zynq UltraScale+ with multiple
instances of the PWM IP.

This only happens if the protection domain registry is populated at the

55526afdbb net: busy-poll: use ktime_get_ns() instead of local_clock()
[ Upstream commit 0870b0d8b3 ]

Typically, busy-polling durations are below 100 usec.

When/if the busy-poller thread migrates to another cpu,
local_clock() can be off by +/-2msec or more for small
values of HZ, depending on the platform.

Use ktimer_get_ns() to ensure deterministic behavior,
which is the whole point of busy-polling.

6b59806916 bonding: change ipsec_lock from spin lock to mutex
[ Upstream commit 2aeeef906d ]

In the cited commit, bond->ipsec_lock is added to protect ipsec_list,
hence xdo_dev_state_add and xdo_dev_state_delete are called inside
this lock. As ipsec_lock is a spin lock and such xfrmdev ops may sleep,
"scheduling while atomic" will be triggered when changing bond's
active slave.

As bond_ipsec_add_sa_all and bond_ipsec_del_sa_all are only called
from bond_change_active_slave, which requires holding the RTNL lock.
And bond_ipsec_add_sa and bond_ipsec_del_sa are xfrm state
xdo_dev_state_add and xdo_dev_state_delete APIs, which are in user
context. So ipsec_lock doesn't have to be spin lock, change it to
mutex, and thus the above issue can be resolved.

8e51088d91 netfilter: nf_tables: restore IP sanity checks for netdev/egress
[ Upstream commit 5fd0628918 ]

Subtract network offset to skb->len before performing IPv4 header sanity
checks, then adjust transport offset from offset from mac header.

Jorge Ortiz says:

When small UDP packets (< 4 bytes payload) are sent from eth0,
`meta l4proto udp` condition is not met because `NFT_PKTINFO_L4PROTO` is
not set. This happens because there is a comparison that checks if the
transport header offset exceeds the total length. This comparison does
not take into account the fact that the skb network offset might be
non-zero in egress mode (e.g., 14 bytes for Ethernet header).

0199a29ec6 of: Introduce for_each_*_child_of_node_scoped() to automate of_node_put() handling
[ Upstream commit 34af4554fb ]

To avoid issues with out of order cleanup, or ambiguity about when the
auto freed data is first instantiated, do it within the for loop definition.

The disadvantage is that the struct device_node *child variable creation
is not immediately obvious where this is used.
However, in many cases, if there is another definition of
struct device_node *child; the compiler / static analysers will notify us
that it is unused, or uninitialized.

Note that, in the vast majority of cases, the _available_ form should be
used and as code is converted to these scoped handers, we should confirm
that any cases that do not check for available have a good reason not
to.

cb739d3ce5 of: Add cleanup.h based auto release via __free(device_node) markings
commit 9448e55d03 upstream.

The recent addition of scope based cleanup support to the kernel
provides a convenient tool to reduce the chances of leaking reference
counts where of_node_put() should have been called in an error path.

This enables
	struct device_node *child __free(device_node) = NULL;

	for_each_child_of_node(np, child) {
		if (test)
			return test;
	}

with no need for a manual call of of_node_put().
A following patch will reduce the scope of the child variable to the
for loop, to avoid an issues with ordering of autocleanup, and make it
obvious when this assigned a non NULL value.

In this simple example the gains are small but there are some very
complex error handling cases buried in these loops that will be
greatly simplified by enabling early returns with out the need
for this manual of_node_put() call.

Note that there are coccinelle checks in
scripts/coccinelle/iterators/for_each_child.cocci to detect a failure
to call of_node_put(). This new approach does not cause false positives.
Longer term we may want to add scripting to check this new approach is
done correctly with no double of_node_put() calls being introduced due
to the auto cleanup. It may also be useful to script finding places
this new approach is useful.
