8b063076fa soc: qcom: rpmh-rsc: Unconditionally clear _TRIGGER bit for TCS
[ Upstream commit f87412d18e ]

Unconditionally clear the TCS_AMC_MODE_TRIGGER bit when a
transaction completes. Previously this bit was only cleared when
a wake TCS was borrowed as an AMC TCS but not for dedicated
AMC TCS. Leaving this bit set for AMC TCS and entering deeper low
power modes can generate a false completion IRQ.

Prevent this scenario by always clearing the TCS_AMC_MODE_TRIGGER
bit upon receiving a completion IRQ.

When the MDT loader is used in remoteproc, the ELF header is sanitized

90cc9e7d82 soc/tegra: pmc: Ensure power-domains are in a known state
commit b6bcbce335 upstream.

After commit 13a4b7fb62 ("pmdomain: core: Leave powered-on genpds on
until late_initcall_sync") was applied, the Tegra210 Jetson TX1 board
failed to boot. Looking into this issue, before this commit was applied,
if any of the Tegra power-domains were in 'on' state when the kernel
booted, they were being turned off by the genpd core before any driver
had chance to request them. This was purely by luck and a consequence of
the power-domains being turned off earlier during boot. After this
commit was applied, any power-domains in the 'on' state are kept on for
longer during boot and therefore, may never transitioned to the off
state before they are requested/used. The hang on the Tegra210 Jetson
TX1 is caused because devices in some power-domains are accessed without
the power-domain being turned off and on, indicating that the
power-domain is not in a completely on state.

>From reviewing the Tegra PMC driver code, if a power-domain is in the
'on' state there is no guarantee that all the necessary clocks
associated with the power-domain are on and even if they are they would
not have been requested via the clock framework and so could be turned
off later. Some power-domains also have a 'clamping' register that needs
to be configured as well. In short, if a power-domain is already 'on' it
is difficult to know if it has been configured correctly. Given that the
power-domains happened to be switched off during boot previously, to
ensure that they are in a good known state on boot, fix this by
switching off any power-domains that are on initially when registering
the power-domains with the genpd framework.

Note that commit 05cfb988a4 ("soc/tegra: pmc: Initialise resets
associated with a power partition") updated the
tegra_powergate_of_get_resets() function to pass the 'off' to ensure
that the resets for the power-domain are in the correct state on boot.
However, now that we may power off a domain on boot, if it is on, it is
better to move this logic into the tegra_powergate_add() function so
that there is a single place where we are handling the initial state of
the power-domain.

db5833217f soc: ti: k3-socinfo: Do not use syscon helper to build regmap
[ Upstream commit a5caf03188 ]

The syscon helper device_node_to_regmap() is used to fetch a regmap
registered to a device node. It also currently creates this regmap
if the node did not already have a regmap associated with it. This
should only be used on "syscon" nodes. This driver is not such a
device and instead uses device_node_to_regmap() on its own node as
a hacky way to create a regmap for itself.

This will not work going forward and so we should create our regmap
the normal way by defining our regmap_config, fetching our memory
resource, then using the normal regmap_init_mmio() function.

c6f24e8591 soc: samsung: exynos-chipid: Pass revision reg offsets

Old Exynos SoCs have both Product ID and Revision ID in one single
register, while new SoCs tend to have two separate registers for those
IDs. Implement handling of both cases by passing Revision ID register
offsets in driver data.

Previously existing macros for Exynos4210 (removed in this patch) were
incorrect:

    #define EXYNOS_SUBREV_MASK         (0xf << 4)
    #define EXYNOS_MAINREV_MASK        (0xf << 0)

Actual format of PRO_ID register in Exynos4210 (offset 0x0):

    [31:12] Product ID
      [9:8] Package information
      [7:4] Main Revision Number
      [3:0] Sub Revision Number

This patch doesn't change the behavior on existing platforms, so
'/sys/devices/soc0/revision' will show the same string as before.

c3fa28e6ca soc/mediatek: mtk-devapc: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
[ Upstream commit a129ac3555 ]

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().

Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

2d09d3c9af soc: qcom: socinfo: Avoid out of bounds read of serial number
commit 22cf4fae66 upstream.

On MSM8916 devices, the serial number exposed in sysfs is constant and does
not change across individual devices. It's always:

  db410c:/sys/devices/soc0$ cat serial_number
  2644893864

The firmware used on MSM8916 exposes SOCINFO_VERSION(0, 8), which does not
have support for the serial_num field in the socinfo struct. There is an
existing check to avoid exposing the serial number in that case, but it's
not correct: When checking the item_size returned by SMEM, we need to make
sure the *end* of the serial_num is within bounds, instead of comparing
with the *start* offset. The serial_number currently exposed on MSM8916
devices is just an out of bounds read of whatever comes after the socinfo
struct in SMEM.

Fix this by changing offsetof() to offsetofend(), so that the size of the
field is also taken into account.

[ Upstream commit 9cc832d377 ]

With driver_async_probe=* on kernel command line, the following trace is
produced because on i.MX8M Plus hardware because the soc-imx8m.c driver
calls of_clk_get_by_name() which returns -EPROBE_DEFER because the clock
driver is not yet probed. This was not detected during regular testing
without driver_async_probe.

Convert the SoC code to platform driver and instantiate a platform device
in its current device_initcall() to probe the platform driver. Rework
.soc_revision callback to always return valid error code and return SoC
revision via parameter. This way, if anything in the .soc_revision callback
return -EPROBE_DEFER, it gets propagated to .probe and the .probe will get
retried later.

eaff392c1e soc: qcom: cmd-db: Map shared memory as WC, not WB
commit f9bb896eab upstream.

Linux does not write into cmd-db region. This region of memory is write
protected by XPU. XPU may sometime falsely detect clean cache eviction
as "write" into the write protected region leading to secure interrupt
which causes an endless loop somewhere in Trust Zone.

The only reason it is working right now is because Qualcomm Hypervisor
maps the same region as Non-Cacheable memory in Stage 2 translation
tables. The issue manifests if we want to use another hypervisor (like
Xen or KVM), which does not know anything about those specific mappings.

Changing the mapping of cmd-db memory from MEMREMAP_WB to MEMREMAP_WT/WC
removes dependency on correct mappings in Stage 2 tables. This patch
fixes the issue by updating the mapping to MEMREMAP_WC.

2a1833cf2a soc: xilinx: move PM_INIT_FINALIZE to zynqmp_pm_domains driver
[ Upstream commit 7fd890b89d ]

PM_INIT_FINALIZE tells the PMU FW that Linux is able to handle the power
management nodes that are provided by the PMU FW. Nodes that are not
requested are shut down after this call.

Calling PM_INIT_FINALIZE from the zynqmp_power driver is wrong. The PM
node request mechanism is implemented in the zynqmp_pm_domains driver,
which must also call PM_INIT_FINALIZE.

Due to the behavior of the PMU FW, all devices must be powered up before
PM_INIT_FINALIZE is called, because otherwise the devices might
misbehave. Calling PM_INIT_FINALIZE from the sync_state device callback
ensures that all users probed successfully before the PMU FW is allowed
to power off unused domains.

[ Upstream commit e43111f52b ]

Dan pointed out that Smatch is concerned about this code because it uses
spin_lock_irqsave() and then calls wait_event_lock_irq() which enables
irqs before going to sleep. The comment above the function says it
should be called with interrupts enabled, but we simply hope that's true
without really confirming that. Let's add a might_sleep() here to
confirm that interrupts and preemption aren't disabled. Once we do that,
we can change the lock to be non-saving, spin_lock_irq(), to clarify
that we don't expect irqs to be disabled. If irqs are disabled by
callers they're going to be enabled anyway in the wait_event_lock_irq()
call which would be bad.

This should make Smatch happier and find bad callers faster with the
might_sleep(). We can drop the WARN_ON() in the caller because we have
the might_sleep() now, simplifying the code.

83c4aba920 soc: qcom: rpmh-rsc: Enhance check for VRM in-flight request
commit f592cc5794 upstream.

Each RPMh VRM accelerator resource has 3 or 4 contiguous 4-byte aligned
addresses associated with it. These control voltage, enable state, mode,
and in legacy targets, voltage headroom. The current in-flight request
checking logic looks for exact address matches. Requests for different
addresses of the same RPMh resource as thus not detected as in-flight.

Add new cmd-db API cmd_db_match_resource_addr() to enhance the in-flight
request check for VRM requests by ignoring the address offset.

This ensures that only one request is allowed to be in-flight for a given
VRM resource. This is needed to avoid scenarios where request commands are

smp_call_function always runs its callback in hard IRQ context, even on

This adds a function to update a CGR with new parameters. qman_create_cgr

it also registers the callback function. The _safe variant was modeled off
of qman_cgr_delete_safe. However, we handle multiple arguments and a return

drivers/soc/fsl/dpio/dpio-service.c:526:29: note: earlier argument should specify number of elements, later size of each element

Since the two are only multiplied, the order does not change the
behavior, so just fix it now to shut up the compiler warning.

0779521576 pmdomain: qcom: rpmhpd: Fix enabled_corner aggregation
commit 2a93c6cbd5 upstream.

Commit 'e3e56c050a ("soc: qcom: rpmhpd: Make power_on actually enable
the domain")' aimed to make sure that a power-domain that is being
enabled without any particular performance-state requested will at least
turn the rail on, to avoid filling DeviceTree with otherwise unnecessary
required-opps properties.

But in the event that aggregation happens on a disabled power-domain, with
an enabled peer without performance-state, both the local and peer
corner are 0. The peer's enabled_corner is not considered, with the
result that the underlying (shared) resource is disabled.

One case where this can be observed is when the display stack keeps mmcx
enabled (but without a particular performance-state vote) in order to
access registers and sync_state happens in the rpmhpd driver. As mmcx_ao
is flushed the state of the peer (mmcx) is not considered and mmcx_ao
ends up turning off "mmcx.lvl" underneath mmcx. This has been observed
several times, but has been painted over in DeviceTree by adding an
explicit vote for the lowest non-disabled performance-state.

The power domain containing the Cortex-R7 CPU core on the R-Car V3H SoC

Fix this by marking the domain as a CPU domain without control

475426ad1a pmdomain: mediatek: fix race conditions with genpd

If the power domains are registered first with genpd and *after that*
the driver attempts to power them on in the probe sequence, then it is
possible that a race condition occurs if genpd tries to power them on
in the same time.
The same is valid for powering them off before unregistering them
from genpd.
Attempt to fix race conditions by first removing the domains from genpd
and *after that* powering down domains.
Also first power up the domains and *after that* register them
to genpd.

6f20058dad soc: qcom: llcc: Fix dis_cap_alloc and retain_on_pc configuration
[ Upstream commit eed6e57e9f ]

Commit c14e64b469 ("soc: qcom: llcc: Support chipsets that can
write to llcc") add the support for chipset where capacity based
allocation and retention through power collapse can be programmed
based on content of SCT table mentioned in the llcc driver where
the target like sdm845 where the entire programming related to it
is controlled in firmware. However, the commit introduces a bug
where capacity/retention register get overwritten each time it
gets programmed for each slice and that results in misconfiguration
of the register based on SCT table and that is not expected
behaviour instead it should be read modify write to retain the
configuration of other slices.

This issue is totally caught from code review and programming test
and not through any power/perf numbers so, it is not known what
impact this could make if we don't have this change however,
this feature are for these targets and they should have been
programmed accordingly as per their configuration mentioned in
SCT table like others bits information.

This change brings one difference where it keeps capacity/retention
bits of the slices that are not mentioned in SCT table in unknown
state where as earlier it was initialized to zero.
